Even as Gov. Sarah Palin exits stage left -- perhaps only temporarily -- back to the frozen tundra, we note that it was Fox News who broke the story that Sarah P. was a bit geography-challenged. Here is Fox's own Carl Cameron telling us something about Palin that nobody wanted to know. The best part is when Carl promises that there will be an avalanche of more juicy Palinbits to drop from the GOP table in the days to come.

Sarah Palin's spokeswoman on Friday denied the stream of accusations leaking out of John McCain's campaign about the Alaska governor's alleged incompetence, calling the charges "sickening." Meghan Stapleton was responding to several reports that have surfaced since Election Day about the tensions between McCain's running mate and his staff. Campaign officials apparently had doubts about her preparedness to run for vice president. Sources told FOX News, for instance, that Palin did not realize that Africa was a continent, not a country, and could not name the countries who had signed the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Today, Red State ran an article on the origination of nasty lies from within the McCain/Palin camp. They report, Romney staffers now working on the McPalin campaign have been spreading the stories of Palin’s “ineptitude” to the press. Red State and other reporters accuse Romney staffers, including Kevin Madden (former Romney press-man) of pushing reporters into “Troopergate” stories and other possible negative Palin story angles.
