McCain made 'huge mistake,' Huckabee says
CNN ^

(CNN) – Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said Friday the John McCain made a "huge mistake" by even floating the possibility he would not appear at the first presidential debate as planned.

“You can’t just say, ‘World stop for a moment. I’m going to cancel everything,” Huckabee told the Associated Press Thursday.

Huckabee, who vied with McCain for the GOP presidential nomination long after it appeared McCain was the party's presumptive nominee, has been an on-and-off critic of the Arizona senator. Earlier this summer he took part in a Washington, DC rally calling on McCain and Obama to highlight more evangelical issues on the campaign trail. He also criticized McCain's campaign when it alleged Obama's "lipstick on a pig" comments was an intended slight at Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin.

Never trusted this snake. He has covered for Obama whenever he can do so. He even praised Rev. Wright!

I wonder how long it took for CNN to find a notable Republican to say what they wanted.

I swear, these people have no shame.

Mike Huckabee needs to keep his gigantic mouth shut.

There is an election at jeopardy here, and giving the Democrats and the media talking points is about as asinine as it gets.

Mike, if you can’t do better than this, I fear you’re going to destroy yourself on your new FoxNews show.

This statement was pitiful.

Huckabee is clueless as usual. McCain showed leadership and humility while Obama looked like a petulant child.

What mistake did McCain do. He got the focus on this situation. He is going to be at Debate tonight. Nothing lost in any way. The msm made this out to be a circus, not John McCain. Obama is the fool and so are the people who elect him into office.

Go back to Arkansas, HICK-a-bee, and take the redneck Clintons with you! You unwanted stepchildren of our Great South just got in the way during the “Late Unpleasentness” of the Civil War and haven’t been much help since...you, Bill and Hillary, Fulbright and Faubus are/were nothing but embarrassments to the South.

IMO Huckabee is mistaken, much like many of us here were. The polls will show if this was a good move or not.
