Jelly Roll can’t say he didn’t ask for it. After the rotund, country-rooted rapper drew fire from fans for using his guest-starring stint on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for consecutive nights of bashing President Donald Trump with all the sneering condescension of the modern left, he responded to critics by essentially telling them to stop listening to him. He might not have been expecting too many to take his advice. In a podcast Monday and a post on the social media platform X, conservative social media personality Johnson reported that he’d run the numbers on Jelly Roll’s social media accounts and...

FIRST TIME listening to THE TEMPTATIONS - "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" REACTION Yes, I know I'm a couple of hours early, but I have a couple of things on the schedule bright and early in the morning. I saw this "first reaction" video and I thought it was entertaining to watch someone young enough to be my granddaughter experience the song for the first time. Listened to it a couple of times earlier with headphones and the separation of the horns and bass guitar were still amazing! I'm sure we geezers will enjoy hearing this song from our youths...

The School of Civic Life and Leadership (SCiLL). At UNC, students hear this name in one of a few ways. One is “eww, that uber-conservative program that’s a waste of money and is trying to indoctrinate everyone.” A rare few respond with, “I haven’t heard of that.” But the vast majority just say, “oh…nice,” and immediately assume you’re a complete nerd. In all fairness, the last one might not be completely off. Yet none of these opinions completely describe the SCiLL program. SCiLL itself is intended to help students learn how to critically engage in civil discourse with people on...

President Trump has pulled off something Washington almost never sees: Hollywood studios, major entertainment unions and Adam Schiff are suddenly lining up behind the same America First jobs push. After meeting with actor Jon Voight, Trump called on Republicans and Democrats in Congress to create a federal production incentive for movies and television shows made in the United States. The goal is simple. Give producers a compelling financial reason to employ American crews, rent American soundstages and keep billions of dollars in production spending on American soil. Trump described Hollywood as a “complete and total disaster” after years of productions...

Karmelo Anthony’s family is asking supporters to fork over $250,000 to pay for the convicted killer’s appeal after a Texas judge shot down his request for a new trial. The GiveSendGo fundraiser has already raised $27,000 from grassroots supporters of the 19-year-old, who was sentenced to 35 years in June for the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf, 17, at a high school track meet in 2025 in Frisco. “We understand that the pursuit of justice through the appellate system requires tremendous resources. This is why the legal fund has been established,” family spokesperson Dominique Alexander told reporters on Wednesday. Last...

When schools teach about 9/11, the focus should be on honoring the memory of those who lost their lives, the bravery of first responders, and those who made sacrifices to save victims. Instead, North Monterey Unified School District in California is teaching students that 9/11 should be understood as an event that made “already existing prejudices against Arab and Muslim Americans more obvious and shameless” and as a catalyst for state-sponsored Islamophobia.

WASHINGTON — House Democrats voted down a proposed constitutional amendment to lock in the number of justices on the Supreme Court at nine. The amendment failed in a 212-206 vote, far short of the two-thirds majority needed to get it through the lower chamber. Only one Democrat, Rep. Don Davis of North Carolina, voted with Republicans in support of the proposed amendment. Republicans brought up the constitutional amendment as part of an effort to accuse Democrats of seeking to pack the high court due to its conservative majority and tie them to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). “We will...

Officials in Texas’ third-largest county voted Tuesday to significantly reduce the number of polling sites for this fall’s midterm elections, drawing protests from Democrats and voting rights advocates. Commissioners in Tarrant County, a fast-growing and politically competitive area that includes Fort Worth, approved a plan that results in 92 fewer Election Day polling locations compared with the 2022 midterms. The roughly 30% reduction leaves the county with 224 polling sites to serve 1.3 million voters. Voters in the county are able to cast ballots at any of those polling sites. The three Republicans on the Tarrant County Commissioners Court voted...

CBS staffers unleash 'storm of outrage' following report on Abdul El-Sayed's deleted 9/11 tweets. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.Ladies and gentlemen, please keep the journalists in your thoughts and prayers this week.
