An astonishing number of Canadians are leaving. The reasons why are clear. Like many Americans, I have a lot of affection for Canada. My stepmother was a Canadian, and she embodied a lot of what makes Americans fond of our northern neighbors. She was polite, intelligent, cultured, and conscientious. But these days something is not right up there. How do I know this? All you have to do is look at some simple statistics. Last year, roughly 150,000 Americans chose to leave the United States. Canada has more exact statistics on emigration. It says that 120,640 Canadians left Canada. The...

Daily Readings from the USCCBHe said to one of them in reply, “‘My friend, I am not cheating you. Did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage? Take what is yours and go. What if I wish to give this last one the same as you? Or am I not free to do as I wish with my own money? Are you envious because I am generous?’ Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last.” Matthew 20:13–16Jesus certainly cares about economic justice, especially as it relates to charity and human dignity. But today’s...

Israel carried out airstrikes on a defunct military air base in northwestern Syria on Tuesday, prompting the United States to condemn the attack as a threat to regional stability in the latest outburst of American frustration with Israel. Eight airstrikes hit the Abu al-Duhur military air base in Idlib, a city about 40 miles from the border with Turkey, according to the Syrian state media, and did not cause any casualties. The Trump administration has been a vocal proponent of Syria’s new government led by President Ahmed al-Sharaa, and the U.S. special envoy to Syria and Iraq, Tom Barrack, said...

We already know how woke-crazy Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed's half-sister at the University of Chicago is -- a screaming lunatic radical whose loathing for the U.S. knows no bottom. Hear her in action, here and here. Now we learn that his mom, Fatten Fathy Elkomy, had her own way of hating on America.According to Townhall's Amy Curtis:It turns out Fatten Fathy Elkomy worked for the Islamic American Relief Agency (IARA), which was also known as the Islamic African Relief Agency, from 1999 through at least 2004.The IARA ran 40 offices worldwide and claimed to focus on healthcare and providing for...

Move along, folks, move along; nothing to see here. Just a few noncitizens voting in our federal elections. The Democrats say we don’t need the SAVE America Act, which would require voter ID, and that such things never happen, so we should be fine. The Census Bureau reported Tuesday that they’re partially done poring through the 2020 election data, and they’ve so far identified 24,000 noncitizen voters. Wait, what?! That doesn’t sound safe, legal, or rare. If the percentage continues at the same rate as they count the rest, that number could eventually rise to 30,000 votes that should not...

The call to prayer is sounding across America. From Hamtramck, Michigan, to Paterson, New Jersey, to Minneapolis, Minnesota, rooftop amplifiers remind growing numbers of Muslim faithful five times a day of their duties with the Arabic message that “Allah is the Greatest! There is no god but Allah!” [snip] Critics say electing Muslims to public office is freighted with other concerns. Many come from Islamic nations where corruption is the norm, and those ways have carried over to places like Hamtramck, where the majority of the city council is under active investigation for election fraud; and to Minneapolis, where Muslim...

It was a crowded field of Republican candidates vying for the chance to succeed Gov. Ron DeSantis – who is term-limited and unable to run for reelection a third time – but Florida Republicans made a decisive choice Tuesday night: Rep. Donalds beat out 10 other candidates to seal the nomination, with preliminary results showing him sitting around 49 percent, compared with 25 percent for Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, 10 percent for James Fishback, and 8 percent for Paul Renner. On the Democrat side, former Republican congressman David Jolly cruised...

TikTok permanently banned journalist Cam Higby’s account after he posted two video clips from his undercover report inside Minnesota polling stations. James O’Keefe and Cam Higby went undercover in Muslim garb to expose Minnesota’s insane ‘voter vouching’ system. “Under Minnesota’s Statutes § 201.061, a registered voter can sign an affidavit affirming that they know another individual resides in the same precinct, allowing that person to register at the polls without presenting standard proof of residence. One registered voter can vouch for up to eight people,” O’Keefe said. “We wanted to find out what this actually looks like inside a polling...

MAGA: “Make America Great Again.” That was U.S. President Donald Trump’s promise to the American people. Elect him, and the country would recover its mojo and return to a golden age of internal harmony, economic vitality, domestic sovereignty, and global influence. It was a seductive vision, especially for those Americans who had been buffeted by globalization and believed that immigrants and “globalists” were undermining the country from within. As Trump’s second term nears the midway point, there can be little doubt that he is one of the most consequential presidents in U.S. history. Unfortunately, almost all the consequences of his...

Throughout the past decade, the Christian community across the Middle East has been targeted by hatred, terrorism, and overall persecution. This has resulted in a massive decrease in the Christian population throughout the Middle East, which today constitutes 3% of the region’s population, compared to constituting around 14% in 1900. In Israel, the opposite trend is seen. In 2025, Christians in Israel accounted for 1.9% of the country’s population, and the population had increased by 0.7% from 2023 to 2024. Yet when it comes to the international media, stories of Christian hatred in Israel are more frequently the aspects of...

Microsoft's purchase of Nokia's Devices and Services unit broke down to about $4.4 billion, while a patent license came in at around $1.9 billion, according to reporting by NBC News at the time. The deal included the transfer of about 32,000 Nokia employees to Microsoft, as well. Unfortunately, Microsoft's purchase didn't really pan out for the company. It wrote off $7.6 billion related to the acquisition in 2015, according to TechCrunch, admitting defeat within a year. Nokia, though, kept its name, its patents, and its network infrastructure business (the bit that keeps making money today), while it handed off the...

The Trump Justice Department is preparing to flood polling places across America with a record 1,000 federal monitors for the November midterm elections, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon announced this week. Dhillon told Bloomberg the deployment will be “probably going to be a historic number for a Republican administration.” The Civil Rights Division has long sent monitors to ensure compliance with federal voting laws, but the scale under President Trump’s second term marks a sharp escalation in the fight for clean elections. “We just did it in the primary. We will do it to the...
