An astonishing number of Canadians are leaving. The reasons why are clear.
Like many Americans, I have a lot of affection for Canada. My stepmother was a Canadian, and she embodied a lot of what makes Americans fond of our northern neighbors. She was polite, intelligent, cultured, and conscientious.
But these days something is not right up there. How do I know this?
All you have to do is look at some simple statistics. Last year, roughly 150,000 Americans chose to leave the United States. Canada has more exact statistics on emigration. It says that 120,640 Canadians left Canada. The numbers aren't so different. But the United States has eight-and-a-half times as many people. So, if the United States had the same rate of emigration, we would be losing close to 1.3 million people each year. That's more than live in Boston and Miami combined.
Here's an even more shocking statistic. In 2016, Canada legalized assisted suicide. Now eight times as many Canadians die from euthanasia as in car accidents. Increasingly, Canadians are anxious to leave either for another country or the undiscovered country.

My Canadian wife has her N-400 immigration application in. She can no longer imagine a scenario where she would return permanently to Canada.
Any chance of seeing that figure disaggregated by sex, age, and ethnicity? Would namely then provide a great deal more insight into the problem if we knew that disproportionately many - oh, I don't know - rich, White pensioners were escaping.
It might also provide some clues if we were told whither these Canadians were fleeing. Are they emigrating predominantly to sub-Saharan African countries? To Muslim countries?

Canadians were on par with Americans in terms of average wealth about a decade ago. Then Trudeau came into office. Canada’s economy has hardly grown since. Its become far less free and its been swamped with foreigners.
They are the communists your parents warned you about. And they love to force-execute those they determine are old and infirm.

My Great Grandfather was a French Canadian fur trapper- got hitched to a Mohawk squaw and settled below the Canadian border...yep - small as it it is, I have more Indian in me than Fakahontas....but never tried to capitalize on it...
I remember when Europe began with the Assisted suicide nonsense. Old people feared to go to the doctors, as they feared a doctor would take it on his own to decide that the person had “no quality of life left” and kill them.

When the Canadian truckers protested a few years ago, and they had their bank accounts frozen, that should tell you how free they really are. It only is a matter of scale now. Credit score associated with DEI, carbon usage, social network posting, tied to a digital Canadian dollar anyone?
Guns are next in Canada. How many people are going to turn over their currently possessed firearms? Once they are gone, how can a people ever claim to be the ones in control of the government, as opposed to the opposite?
The question should be what’s wrong with Doug Ford (Conservative In Name Only and his buddy Mark Carney!
