Demolition of the White House’s East Wing, itself a source of multiple controversies for more than 200 years, was completed Thursday. Excavators were spotted starting Monday tearing it apart. It was home to first lady Melania Trump’s office, the offices of the White House social secretary and calligrapher, as well as the movie theater and the presidential bunker. It’s now described as “the Late Great East Wing” on the White House website for Christmas tours. The staff members of those offices were relocated to other parts of the White House, CNN reported. The demolition will set the stage for construction...

It was in egg-cellent condition. Argentine paleontologists found a real diamond in the rough after happening across a perfectly preserved 70-million-year-old dinosaur egg during an excavation. “It was a complete and utter surprise,” Gonzalo Leonel Muñoz, a Vertebrate paleontologist at the Bernardo Rivadavia Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences, told National Geographic of the “spectacular” find. “‘It’s not uncommon to find dinosaur fossils, but the issue with eggs is that they are much less common.” The team of paleontologists was reportedly conducting an excavation campaign in the fossil-rich region of Río Negro, when they stumbled across the primeval embryo. While dinosaur...

Late-night host Bill Maher is questioning where all the college anti-Israel protesters went as the terror group Hamas continues its wave of violence, turning weapons against Palestinians in Gaza. On Friday’s episode of "Real Time with Bill Maher," the comedian asked his guest, billionaire businessman Mark Cuban, where "keffiyeh-wearing college kids" went now that Hamas is "shooting everybody." "Where are the protesters?" Maher asked Cuban. "Suddenly, the keffiyeh-wearing college kids are very quiet," the HBO host noted. "Shooting everybody," Cuban answered and Maher repeated the sentiment. His comments come after months of student-led anti-Israel demonstrations on campuses across the country....

Donald Trump and Xi Jinping are due to meet in South Korea next week. However, it is uncertain whether they actually will. Such is the shocking state of the world’s most important relationship. For weeks, America and China have been lashing out at each other. America has tightened tech-export restrictions and threatened higher tariffs; China has wielded sanctions and restrictions on rare earths. The two sides communicate poorly. In the White House there is a belief that America has the upper hand in this test of nerves and pain-tolerance. Scott Bessent, the treasury secretary, says China is “weak”. But the...

The FBI has arrested Chauncey Billups, NBA champion, Hall of Famer, and coach of the Portland Trail Blazers for his association in a rigged poker game operated by some of New York City’s most notorious crime family. “Why would Chauncey do it?” the world of sports is asking. He’s already worth tens of millions of dollars. That’s a question for Billups, his attorneys, his God, and, presumably, Blazers ownership to answer. But as someone who regularly plays a lot of low and micro-stakes poker, I have a pretty good idea. The games I play in are monitored by security cameras,...

Rose hips or “haws” are the most commonly consumed part of a plant that is best known for its aesthetic appeal. Today, you are more likely to find roses in a vase at the center of a table than on your dinner plate. There are however, a number of culinary and medicinal uses for rose hips.

Mayor Eric Adams on Thursday backed Andrew Cuomo’s campaign for City Hall, embracing his one-time bitter rival as “a brother” while slamming socialist front-runner Zohran Mamdani as a “snake oil salesman.” Hizzoner, who just three weeks ago ripped Cuomo as “a snake and a liar,” dapped up the former governor while delivering a full-throated endorsement of his independent bid for mayor — and issued a dire warning to Big Apple voters. “This is the future of New York City at stake,” Adams told reporters while hitting the campaign trail with Cuomo as part of a concerted, last-minute effort to hamper...

[Catholic Caucus] Rome’s Latin Mass Concessions Come With ConditionsIt’s a familiar pattern by now: every “concession” from Rome arrives with a leash attached. Every word of compassion conceals a doctrinal condition. Every token nod toward tradition serves to remind you who is boss. This week’s Vatican stories form a single portrait of the post-conciliar Church: a faith administered on parole, a mercy that demands ideological compliance, and a gospel repackaged as therapy. The Latin Mass on ParoleHiraeth In Exile is a reader-supported publication. The Donald Trump administration said on Thursday it will fight all lawsuits filed against H-1B visa policy, saying that the move is intended to protect American workers and restore integrity to the system. The court ruled that HHS exceeded its authority by redefining sex under Title IX to prohibit gender-identity bias because a statute can’t “be divorced” from the time and reason for its enactment. Afederal judge in Mississippi on Wednesday struck down a Biden-era Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) rule that extended federal health anti-discrimination protections to transgender health care. Judge Louis Guirola Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi ruled in favor of a coalition of 16 GOP-led states that sued over the rule. Justin Fields is him.No team in the NFL has a more pathetic history at quarterback than the Chicago Bears. The Bears always have great running backs and great linebackers, but a franchise QB has eluded the organization since Sid Luckman threw his final pass in 1950. The Bears used a top-5 pick to draft Mitchell Trubisky, traded multiple first rounders to acquire Jay Cutler, and seem to sign a new quarterback in free agency every single year. None of those moves changed the fact that Chicago has never had an elite quarterback. Justin Fields always had a chance to...

Investigations have been launched. “Look, the thing I can tell you is that...
