A federal appeals court delivered a victory for the Trump administration on Friday night by backing its mass detention policy that locks up most people it intends to deport.
The three-judge panel on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in Texas split on the ruling with two judges ruling that the Trump administration had the correct interpretation of the immigration law when it comes to the ability to detain people that will be deported, according to Politico.
“That prior Administrations decided to use less than their full enforcement authority … does not mean they lacked the authority to do more,” Judge Edith Jones, who was appointed by President Ronald Reagan, wrote for the majority.
The case centers on the interpretation of a statute that requires migrants who are still "applicants for admission” to be held without bond while seeking admission to the United States.

If only the admin were for real mass deportation...
The ruling is part of the United States clawing back its sovereignty after decades of work by globalists to dismantle it.
President Trump is doing magnificent work. God bless him and his administration.
It is.
Aside from the whining peanut gallery from which you post, deportations are in process and when ICE is caught up, the Border Patrol is going to raise all hell with illegals.
Trump has repeatedly said that we’re not deporting the mass illegal laborers. Pay better attention!
Great point and an excellent start to the day!!
Time is a factor. There is a future for mass deportations
“If only the admin were for real mass deportation...”
In several of my career jobs I knew exactly what needed to be done. I could outline the path to where we needed to go, and it wasn’t ambiguous. I’d even get the people standing in my way to agree. But I couldn’t get them to act. There are hundreds of policies, legal, and personnel impediments. Then there’s the astonishing pushback from people I’d need to implement anything...most of illogical. Little people have little power and what they have gets exercised to excess. Even if by doing so they know that eventually everyone will lose their jobs. That eventuality isn’t real, or isn’t as important as the ego boost they get by exercising their inner two-year-old’s cry of “no!”
Recently a DOJ lawyer refused to prosecute a case in court telling the judge, “This job sucks.” He was fired. But there are countless others in positions where they refuse to do what the president tells them to do. But most of them don’t come out and say anything that will get them fired. They look at management, smile and say, “Yes Sir!” At the same time, they refuse to do their duty. And, eventually, the politics will change. They’ll muddle on and before they retire, they’ll make certain that someone just like them takes their old job. The cycle continues. Thus has it ever been and thus will it ever be.
So true. As I have always said, people can always find a reason not to do something.
It also appears to be a situation where the government ignores the word shall. It looks like the wording of the law is they shall be detained.
Americans for decades have been subjected to legal fairy tales perpetrated by clowns in robes. Saboteurs, basically. It’s absurd to suggest that illegal aliens can arrive by the millions and millions en masse but can only be removed singly, one by one, after some improbable judicial obstacle course has been negotiated and all the t’s crossed and i’s dotted. It’s all bullshit and always has, and was intended that way.
Court sides with Trump
Every good deed Trump for the does for the country and the court side with him the left sounds like the screams from the Hotel California before they get their morning meds.

The central feature of what Judge Jones does in her Opinion:
The power exercised by the Trump Administration has been there in the text of the statute since 1996 when it was passed.
The fact that past Administrations opted to use less than the full authority authorized by Congress does not diminish over time that authority.
Presidents Clinton, Bush, Obama and Biden all could have done what Pres. Trump is doing with regard to detaining illegal aliens — they just chose to not use all the authority given to them
“””Trump has repeatedly said that we’re not deporting the mass illegal laborers. Pay better attention!””””
It must really suck to wake up every morning and immediately start whining.
When you so clearly would like to keep your four hands over your eyes and ears...
NICE
Good for Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, which are covered by the 5th circuit. However, Minnesota and California (8 & 9 circuits) will continue to follow contrary guidance. This is headed to the Supreme Court in light of the conflict. Hopefully sooner rather than later
