President Donald Trump has enacted nearly half of Project 2025 during his first nine months in office, according to a tracker. Newsweek reached out to the White House for comment via email. Why It Matters Project 2025, a 900-page blueprint developed by conservative groups to reshape the federal government, became a major topic during the 2024 presidential election. At the time, Trump sought to distance himself from it amid backlash over parts of the agenda. But critics have said many of the policies of his administration reflect Project 2025, and he touted Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought’s...

LEXINGTON, MA — A Pride-parade picture book showing bondage gear and drag nuns is set to appear in Lexington’s 2025–2026 kindergarten social studies curriculum, sparking fury among parents who say the district has crossed the line between inclusion and age-appropriate teaching. The revelation was first reported by Massachusetts Informed Parents, a watchdog group that obtained lesson materials from Lexington Public Schools (LPS). According to their review, the Pride-themed book This Day in June is listed as part of a new “Social Studies” unit for five-year-olds — a class typically reserved for topics like community, geography, and basic civics. But the...

Former President Barack Obama stated that President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to quell crime in Democrat-run cities is “inherently corrupting,” arguing that he would have received a different reaction from conservative media if he had sent the military into Texas during his tenure. Obama spoke with left-wing comedian Mark Maron for the final episode of his long-running podcast, published Monday, in which he shared several of his grievances about how Trump has been leading the country. “When you have military that can direct force against their own people, that is inherently corrupting. And so when you now...

The three-times-married 79-year-old admitted that he risked being accused of sexism with the comments about hard-right leader Meloni, who was standing behind him on the podium. "I'm not allowed to say it because usually it's the end of your political career if you say it -- she's a beautiful young woman," Trump said in the middle of a speech about his peace efforts for the Middle East. "If you use the word 'beautiful' in the United States about a woman, that's the end of your political career, but I'll take my chances." Turning round to address the 48-year-old, Trump said:...

This Saturday, mutants from coast to coast will assemble outside the basements and Pokémon clubs for the first time…since the last time this coalition of unlovable virgins and elderly, unliked parents gathered together to fool themselves into thinking they might not die alone and be eaten by a pet or a swarm of rats living under the hoarded mementos they haven’t been able to throw out since they peaked in high school. If that sounds cruel, good. These people have wasted more Saturdays this year than they’ve had visits from family or friends in the last ten. But they’re getting...

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has suggested Democrats may be waiting to cave and reopen the government until after this weekend’s “No Kings” protest. Internal rally documents reviewed by The Daily Wire indicate he’s on to something. On Saturday, demonstrators across the country will gather in what organizers describe as a “peaceful national day of action and mass mobilization in response to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration.” That includes a major event outside the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Johnson suggested on Fox News last weekend that Democrats were holding out for the protest in order...

TLDR Summary:Theoretically, the most obvious next step required by law for the POTUS to invoke the insurrection act in one or more cities would be to issue a formal proclamation for the rioters to disperse. If the rioters don't disperse per the deadline provided in the proclamation - Insurrection Act kicks in. If you read the following, you can see it's more complicated than that, but that's my simplified opinion after querying GROK about legal requirements for the invocation of the Insurrection Act in L.A., Chicago, and Portland. For the minimally interested, you may want to skip down to the TABLE...

Deborah Brockman, a veteran producer at WGN-TV, was forced to the ground as mask-wearing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers cuffed her in the Chicago suburb of Lincoln Square on Friday. The officers behind Brockman's arrest stopped at nothing to take her into custody - damaging a resistant driver's SUV after they refused to move out of the way. The CBP agents were driving in the area while conducting immigration enforcement operations when Brockman allegedly threw something at their vehicle, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). She was arrested for assaulting a federal agent, but was released from...

It’s begun. Democrats are now acknowledging the release of the Israeli hostages, albeit without giving President Trump credit. It’s not shocking, but it’s laughable: President Trump pitched the agreement that Hamas and Israel agreed upon to end the Gaza War. To omit this is like trying to talk about World War II without mentioning Pearl Harbor, the Battle of the Bulge, or D-Day. Sen. Liz Warren’s (D-MA) post about the agreement was just comical: For two excruciating years, I have called for the return of the hostages brutally kidnapped on October 7th and held in Gaza. Today is a good...

Remembering how the Iroquois treated missionary Isaac Jogues and his companions.Among the American left’s new holy days, Indigenous Peoples’ Day is near the top of the list, exceeded only by the left’s holy month: Pride Month. The Biden administration went all-out for Indigenous Peoples’ Day, issuing formal statements and proclamations. For the left, Indigenous Peoples’ Day is the social justice substitute for Columbus Day. The epic Italian explorer has been cancelled for a host of alleged evils. To progressives, among the worst of Columbus’ transgressions is the colossal sin he shares with other Europeans: he dared to bring Christianity...

In a striking example of how PBS NewsHour—often criticized for their anti-Israel slant under anchors like its head Amna Nawaz—continue to whitewash Hamas sympathizers as mere "humanitarians," the recent death of Saleh Aljafarawi serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers of unchecked propaganda. Aljafarawi, a 28-year-old Gaza-based social media influencer and self-proclaimed journalist, was gunned down on October 12, 2025, in Gaza City's Sabra neighborhood amid brutal clan wars that claimed at least 27 lives. Far from being an impartial observer, Aljafarawi was a vocal Hamas affiliate whose elimination by anti-Hamas forces underscores the internal fractures within Gaza's terrorist...

The Palisades Bowl mobile home park remains debris-covered, nine months after the fire and months after the neighboring park was cleaned FEMA denied cleanup services, arguing it couldn’t trust that the land owners, with a history of attempting to redevelop the park into something more lucrative, would let residents rebuild Former residents are running out of insurance money and aid to pay for temporary housing, still with no clear path home. As local and state leaders celebrate the fastest wildfire debris removal in modern American history, the Pacific Palisades Bowl Mobile Home Estates — a rent-controlled, 170-unit enclave off Pacific...

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man who is promising free housing for those willing to move to a rural part of West Texas now faces a lawsuit from the state’s attorney general. According to a press release from Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office, Malcolm Tanner is accused of orchestrating an “illegal scheme” to take political control of Loving County, the least-populated county in Texas. Paxton is also requesting a temporary restraining order to stop him. In videos posted on social media, Tanner claims he’s building 100 free homes and he’s offering $5,000 a month to people willing to move to the...

Getting rid of the filibuster would spell disaster for Republicans. As the partial government shutdown rolls into its third week, some Republicans are floating the idea of getting rid of the Senate filibuster to overcome Democratic recalcitrance. GOP leaders have been wise to rule it out.The 100-seat body requires 60 votes to pass a government funding bill because of the filibuster tradition, which means that Republicans need to win over a handful of Senate Democrats to end the shutdown. The idea of ending the practice, which was popular among Democrats until they lost control of the chamber this year, is now...
