Well, this would be an interesting development... According to POLITICO, the Mayor of New York, Eric Adams, has been offered a job in the Trump administration as a reward for dropping out of the New York City race. It would make a lot of sense, as Adams is the lowest-performing candidate in a crowded race in which it sure looks likely that Zohran Mamdani has the inside track. Trump, as we all know, is both emotionally and financially invested in the well-being of New York, and a Mamdani mayoralty could make a Bill de Blasio term look as if the...

reasingly frustrated by his inability to get Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to sit down for direct talks aimed at ending the war. President Donald Trump said the United States will keep a robust military presence in Poland during a meeting on Wednesday with Karol Nawrocki, the new president of the American ally in Europe. Trump had taken the unusual step of endorsing Karol Nawrocki in the presidential election earlier this year and as the leaders sat in the White House, Trump said the US-Polish relationship has always been strong but "now it’s better than ever."...

For what seems like forever, conservatives have been calling out the train wreck that is the American educational system. Instead of teaching things that will help students become responsible, productive citizens, the agenda is all woke, and Donald Trump sucks. It is a good guess that we have at least two generations of budding young leftists who have been taught literally nothing about America, its friends, and enemies, and most importantly, the true difference between capitalism and communism, and what both systems of government really offer their citizens. Recently, that indoctrination was on full display. This is one kid. There...

The star's anti-knife crime advocacy led to him being considered as a candidateIdris Elba has shut down rumours that he is entering politics, saying he doesn’t have the “courage” for the profession. In February, Elba made the documentary Our Knife Crime Crisis, and has been vocal on ways to combat the problem. His advocacy led to a report in March that said the Labour Party was interested in him as a candidate for the Mayor Of London. Metro has now reported that Elba spoke about the rumours while promoting his new film, A House Of Dynamite, in which he...

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A 13-year-old boy is facing charges after he was caught on camera groping a Louisville woman on her front porch. WLKY spoke with the woman whom the boy groped, 78-year-old Jan Fletcher, on Aug. 26. Fletcher said the boy asked her for directions to a nearby park before pretending to dust something off her back and groping her. "As soon as that happened, I said, let me tell you something, you better get out here and you better go now. So he did. He was gone," Fletcher said. Fletcher says she has a question for the teen....

Warren Buffett criticized the planned break-up of The Kraft Heinz Company (KHC) on Tuesday, saying he is "disappointed" with a move that effectively unravels the 2015 merger he helped engineer. Shares of the packaged-food giant slipped following his remarks. Buffett told CNBC that while the merger fell short of expectations, he does not believe splitting the company will solve its challenges. The Berkshire Hathaway Inc. chief, whose firm owns about 27.5% of Kraft Heinz, said the deal "didn't turn out to be a brilliant idea" and added that dismantling the company is unlikely to be a cure-all. Buffett also noted...

Americans are waking up to the prevalence of illegal immigrants working side by side with them as they consistently lose out to a cheaper alternative to themselves. Harjinder Singh, an illegal immigrant, caused a fatal vehicle crash Aug. 12, killing three people on the Florida Turnpike as he attempted to make a U-turn in an “Official Use Only” turnaround while driving a commercial truck. Further investigations revealed Singh failed English and road-sign tests, raising questions about his licensing eligibility. Commercial trucking is a quintessential American blue-collar job that provides economic opportunities for people all over the country. Even Mayor Adams...

Britain is 'sleepwalking into a dystopian nightmare' under proposals to force everyone to have a digital ID card, civil liberty campaigners warned last night. Sir Keir Starmer is 'exploring' the idea, No 10 admitted this week, after Emmanuel Macron demanded action that would make Britain less attractive to illegal migrants. But civil liberty groups yesterday warned that it will turn Britain into a 'papers, please' society. Rebecca Vincent, of Big Brother Watch, said: 'While Downing Street is scrambling to be seen as doing something about illegal immigration, we are sleepwalking into a dystopian nightmare where the entire population will be...

District of Columbia National Guard troops who are deployed as part of President Donald Trump’s federal law enforcement intervention in the nation’s capital have had their orders extended through December, a National Guard official said. The main purpose of the extension is to ensure that any D.C. Guard members out on the streets of Washington will continue to have uninterrupted benefits and pay for a mission that seems likely to persist for months, the official said. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media, said that while the extension doesn’t...

So, apparently, there is a black comedian out there named Druski (whose given name is Andrew Desbordes) who is turning a lot of heads these days with a video of himself not just in whiteface, but with the whole of his upper body painted white, complete with a farmer’s tan sunburn and tattoos. It’s a total hoot until you start paying attention to what is going on. ... Druski clearly wanted to make people think he was a Southern redneck; the New York Post observed Wednesday that he “completed the redneck character’s look with a mullet, beard, American flag cowboy...

The Irish comedy writer Graham Linehan was once known for his charming, sometimes surreal sitcoms—Father Ted, Black Books, The IT Crowd—on British TV. These days, however, he is better known for his online crusade against transgender activism. His X feed takes the same approach as Libs of TikTok, cherry-picking videos of criminals and fetishists in a full-scale assault on “gender ideology.” He is obsessive and offensive. But is he a criminal? The British police seem to think so. Linehan was arrested by five armed officers today on his return from the United States, where he has been working on a...

Several urgent care workers in Santa Barbara have been fired after a TikTok taken inside medical exam rooms went viral over Labor Day weekend, officials confirmed to KTLA. The post shows a compilation of photos where Sansum Clinic workers are joking and posing with patients’ bodily fluids left on exam tables. Text over one of the first images reads, “Are patients allowed to leave you guys gifts?” followed by slides showing staff laughing, pointing, and even posing playfully around the stains with the caption: “guess the substance!” In another frame, the on-screen words say “all shades and opacities.” In the...

A federal judge ordered the Trump administration on Wednesday to restore about $2.2 billion in federal funding for Harvard University, despite finding the Ivy League school was “plagued by antisemitism.” Regardless of antisemitism concerns, Boston-based District Judge Allison Burroughs ruled the federal grants awarded to Harvard were unlawfully terminated by President Trump. Burroughs, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, determined there was “more than sufficient” evidence indicating the Trump administration “impermissibly retaliated against Harvard for refusing to capitulate to the government’s demands.” The Trump administration “specifically and repeatedly linked the coordinated funding cuts to Harvard’s decision to ‘fight,’” Burroughs...

Michael Stipe finally put to rest a nearly four-decade-long struggle to understand just what he's singing in R.E.M.'s 1987 song "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)." As fans of the song — the second single from R.E.M.'s first Top 10 and gold-selling album, Document — know, the famously incomprehensible singer fires off a string of verses that for years could only be discerned in small portions: "World serves its own needs," "Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself churn," "Leonard Bernstein!" R.E.M. rarely reprinted their lyrics in any form. Over the past...

The “Greek fire” was a mysterious incendiary weapon that helped the mighty Byzantine Empire survive and ensure that it continued to exercise its sovereignty for many centuries. Using a unique formula—which even today’s scientists have trouble figuring out—the Greeks of Byzantium kept the enemy away from their vast lands which once spanned all of Southern Europe, North Africa, and Asia Minor. More importantly, the Greek fire saved Constantinople, the seat of the Byzantine Empire, from repeated sieges by the Arabs. Even when it was captured, enemies of Byzantium were never able to recreate the unique chemical concoction that generated fire...

Newsmax filed a lawsuit claiming that the Lachlan Murdoch-run news giant blocks competitors by coercing pay TV operators, threatening steep financial penalties if they add Newsmax.Newsmax‘s spat with Fox over right-leaning viewers erupted into a high-stakes clash on Wednesday when the upstart right-wing cable news channel sued the legacy media outfit for allegedly violating antitrust laws, opening another front in the battle over the legality of tying and bundling. In a lawsuit filed in Florida federal court, Newsmax alleges that Fox leverages its control of must-have channels to strongarm distributors into unfair terms. It points to a “coordinated, behind-the-scenes campaign”...

That's why the prolific author wanted the film adaptation of 'The Long Walk' to be "pretty brutal."Stephen King had one condition for the film adaptation of his book, The Long Walk: he wanted a lot of brutal violence. During a recent interview with The Times U.K., the prolific author criticized the way violence is depicted in superhero movies, such as some in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Studios. Oftentimes, those films don’t show the realistic, gory consequences of violence, despite there being a lot of destruction. “If you look at these superhero movies, you’ll see … some supervillain who’s...

William Santor charmed the movie world and turned the Cayman Islands into his own filmmaking paradise — one built on an allegedly massive fraud. As his scam unraveled, investors lost millions, but it was the conman who paid the ultimate price.n 2024, Ron Perlman was at work on a long-gestating Ernest Hemingway movie alongside his backer, Canadian film financier William Santor, with whom he’d made several projects during the preceding years in the Caribbean. “It culminated in a location scouting trip together in Cuba,” the actor says. “It was mind-blowingly positive. I thought we’d be in preproduction shortly thereafter.” Santor,...
