A top diplomat representing the Taliban terror organization ruling Afghanistan demanded representation for the group at the United Nations this week, insisting the Taliban’s participation in the global organization was a “necessity and a right.” Suhail Shaheen, who has represented the Taliban in negotiations with the U.N. in the past and now runs the group’s embassy in Qatar, noted that the Taliban has been the uncontested government of Afghanistan for nearly four years and insisted that the group deserves some say in the operations of the United Nations. “The presence of a representative from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan at...

Former National Security Advisor John Bolton said Tuesday on CNN’s “New Central” that no world leader should “equate” the opinions of the American people with those of President Donald Trump. Bolton said, “I think Trump is ripping through decades of American effort to build up good faith, trust, reliance, counting on the United States in times of crisis. And the economic cost of the tariffs are going to be bad.” He added, “I think you saw a little bit of that in the meeting today. The leader who was backing down in that meeting was Trump. He’d already made all...

Explanation: If one black hole looks strange, what about two? Light rays from accretion disks around a pair of orbiting supermassive black holes make their way through the warped space-time produced by extreme gravity in this detailed computer visualization. The simulated accretion disks have been given different false color schemes, red for the disk surrounding a 200-million-solar-mass black hole, and blue for the disk surrounding a 100-million-solar-mass black hole. For these masses, though, both accretion disks would actually emit most of their light in the ultraviolet. The video allows us to see both sides of each black hole at the...

In an epic warning, Border Czar Tom Homan promised retribution to Democrat leaders who defy President Donald Trump’s immigration policy. Specifically singling out so-called sanctuary cities, Homan stated, “Wait till you see what’s coming,” in his ominous warning. For context, sanctuary cities are far-left towns that have laws in place to restrict the enforcement of immigration laws. Several deep-blue areas, like New York or San Francisco, have passed ordinances that limit local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE. Such was shown when Tom Homan sparred with a journalist outside the White House on May 1, 2025. The journalist asked, “The...

The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the Trump administration can move forward with a ban on transgender military service members for now, lifting a lower court injunction against the policy after a judge ruled it was an "unsupported, dramatic and facially unfair exclusionary policy." The court did not explain its decision other than to say the order would expire if the justices ultimately take up the case on the merits and issue a ruling striking it down. Litigation continues in the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson indicated they would...

The court’s three liberal justices said they would have kept the policy on hold. Just after beginning his second term in January, Trump moved aggressively to roll back the rights of transgender people. Among the Republican president’s actions was an executive order that claims the sexual identity of transgender service members “conflicts with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle, even in one’s personal life” and is harmful to military readiness.

Tully Monster (Tullimonstrum) - is probably the weirdest animal that ever lived- the true story of the Illinois state fossil, how it was found and what it is.The Tully Monster was found not too far from Chicago, Illinois, in 1955, by fossil hunter Francis Tully. Its soft body was remarkably well preserved in the shale of Mazon Creek, near the coal pits of Braidwood, Illinois. But what is this weird creature? It lived 300 million years ago in the Carboniferous period, the age of ferns and coal, but did it leave any clues of what animals living today it resembles...

U.S. — In response to President Donald Trump‘s offer to give illegal immigrants $1000 in exchange for deporting themselves, Democrats are upping the ante with a lucrative deal of $1001 to stay in the United States. Leaders in Congress are reportedly hoping illegals will jump at the chance to make one dollar more than Trump's measly offer of $1,000. "Stay, please stay," said Pelosi, holding up a wad of bills. "We will offer criminal gang members and undocumented Americans as many taxpayer dollars as it takes. What about $1,002? $1,003? Don't go. Please." Trump Admin officials have responded with a...

Replace the entire cabinet with Marco Rubio: He's a jack of all trades. Order the National Science Foundation to determine if 100 men can really defeat a gorilla: The nation deserves to know. Delay Epstein list again: It should...

WASHINGTON — President Trump again said Tuesday he wanted Canada to be America’s 51st state — but was rebuffed by newly-elected Prime Minister Mark Carney in a tense exchange in the Oval Office. “I still believe that, but, you know, it takes two to tango,” Trump told reporters — saying too that Carney could offer nothing to change his mind about new tariffs on America’s northern neighbor. Trump later gave more extensive commentary on a possible North American political union, calling the US-Canada border an “artificial line” and saying it would lead to a “massive tax cut” for them. “When...

An Oregon bill that would require big tech companies including Google and Meta to pay money to local newsrooms and journalists is steadily advancing despite protests from tech industry groups. The latest version of Senate Bill 686 would require companies of Google’s magnitude to pay at least $104 million annually to Oregon newsrooms and journalism programs. Companies of Meta’s scope would pay at least $18 million. Alternatively, companies could choose to undergo an arbitration process to determine a different payment amount. Lawmakers from both parties and numerous Oregon publishers have said the bill would be a financial lifeline for newsrooms...
