There is a sense that President Donald Trump will face less resistance during his second term, that activists are tired, that the country is complacent. I cannot speak for others, but I can say for myself and those around me: we are bracing ourselves with eyes wide open, measured, strategic, and ready to fight. As a transgender person doing transgender advocacy work, I see no other way.

The Trump administration can for now continue its mass firings of federal employees rejecting a bid by a group of labor unions to halt President Donald Trump’s dramatic downsizing of the roughly 2.3 million-strong federal workforce. The ruling by U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper in federal court is temporary while the litigation plays out. But it is a win for the Trump administration as it seeks to purge the federal workforce slashing what it deems wasteful and fraudulent government spending. The National Treasury Employees Union and four other unions sued last week to block the administration from firing hundreds of...

The far-left new York Times is now offering the privileged Resistance advice on how to fight Donald Trump’s “unspoken dress code.” How blessed are Americans to live in a country where people have time to wring their hands over this: “A reader asks how to push back against the resurgence of traditional dressing.” Yes, poor Renee from Emeryville, California, is so privileged that when allowed to ask the New York Times for advice, this topped her list… With the new Trump administration, there seems to be a general trend toward old-fashioned gender stereotypes and dress, which seems to me like...

Pope Francis’s Letter to American Catholics: A Misguided Polemic Against Freedom and StrengthPope Francis, as usual, tries to cloak Globalism in the mantle of the Magesterium, most recently taking aim at the Trump Administration's border policies. In an open letter to American Catholics dated 11 February 2025, Pope Francis directly challenges the Trump Administration’s desire – and by extension the desire of many conservative leaders in Europe – to impose a rule of law and sanctity of national borders. The Pope states: “The true ordo amoris that must be promoted is that which we discover by meditating constantly on the parable...

Project Veritas released undercover video of Travis Combs, Branch Chief for Applied Innovation and Improvement at the US Department of Education, describing how the agency is hiding secrets from Congress and DOGE by communicating on encrypted app, Signal. “It’s insanity. ‘Democracy Falling’ should be the title of the movie,” Travis Combs, a 5-year veteran at the department said. Travis Combs told the undercover PV reporter that federal employees in the DOE are evading Congress and oversight. “The one nice thing about the program that I work in is that we don’t ask [citizenship] status, and we’ve been able to keep...

NEW YORK — Gov. Kathy Hochul won't immediately remove New York City Mayor Eric Adams from office, but will instead push for increased oversight of City Hall as he faces intense scrutiny over his relationship with the Trump administration. Hochul will announce Thursday that she has, for now, decided against removing Adams from office, according to three people familiar with the governor's plan who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to disclose its details. The decision came after she solicited opinions this week from a roster of New York political figures over questions about whether Adams...

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., endorsed President Donald Trump in a Wednesday post on X, making the unorthodox announcement more than three months after Election Day 2024. When making the announcement, Paul pointed to Trump's cabinet picks and a Truth Social post in which the commander in chief blasted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "A few people may have noticed that I resisted an enthusiastic endorsement of Donald Trump during the election. But now, I’m amazed by the Trump cabinet (many of whom I would have picked). I love his message to the Ukrainian warmongers, and along with his DOGE initiative shows...

A 74-year-old woman has become the first person to be arrested and charged under a Scottish law banning protests outside abortion clinics. She was arrested close to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and was charged in connection with breach of an exclusion zone. Officers removed a sign from the area - which had been held by the woman who was arrested - that read "coercion is a crime, here to talk, only if you want". The Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) Act came into force last year. The legislation prevents any protests or vigils taking place within...

Democrats are roaming in the political wilderness and seem bewildered on how to find their way out. More resistance? More moderation? More lawfare? More denunciations of fascism/authoritarianism/lawlessness? Look for ways to compromise? Don’t look for ways to compromise? Shut down the government? Don’t shut down the government? Better messaging of Democratic positions? Actually change Democratic positions? It’s all so confusing! It needn’t be. There’s one simple question—a sort of test—that would illuminate the path forward for Democrats. What would the working class say (WWWCS)? Let me explain. The WWWCS test is not so hard to do but it does entail...

The Senate has officially voted to confirm Kash Patel as the new director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). On Thursday, in a 51-49 vote, Patel was confirmed to be the ninth director of the FBI. He will serve a 10-year term. In order to have been passed, no more than three Republicans could have voted “no” or “nay” on his confirmation. One of the two Republicans that voted “nay” in relation to Patel serving as the FBI director, was Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska). Additionally, she also voted no on Donald Trump’s now-confirmed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Additionally, as...

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) touted bringing home the bacon to Kentucky and his “unfinished business” perpetuating a national defense strategy crafted in the 1980s in a Senate floor speech Thursday announcing his retirement. McConnell, who turned 83 Thursday, has been expected to retire following his resignation under pressure as Senate Republican Leader in early 2024, but reports of his upcoming retirement announcement Thursday morning still reverberated across Washington. In his speech, the longtime Senate leader told colleagues, “I’ve only really answered to two constituencies, the Republican Conference and the people of Kentucky.
