President-elect Donald Trump is moving to drain the swamp yet again, and this time, he is making it clear that his administration does not want anyone who worked for, or is endorsed by, politicians suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, providing a few examples. “As of today, the incoming Trump Administration has hired over 1,000 people for The United States Government,” Trump announced on Truth Social on Thursday, describing them as “outstanding in every way.” “… and you will see the fruits of their labor over the coming years. We will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and it will happen very quickly!”...

When Stephen Miller met with Mark Zuckerberg at Mar-a-Lago late last year, the 39-year-old Trump adviser was in a position of power that would have been unimaginable a decade ago. Back then, Mr. Miller was a mere Senate staffer railing about the evils of immigration. Now he was holding forth on U.S. policy with the billionaire chief executive of Meta, a man he had vilified for years as a globalist bent on destroying the nation. The scale had flipped. Mr. Miller told Mr. Zuckerberg that he had an opportunity to help reform America, but it would be on President-elect Donald...

In 2016, Thomas D. Homan was a frustrated immigration bureaucrat ready to call it quits. A former border patrol agent with a lawman’s steely demeanor, he had been an odd fit for the Obama administration. Top officials would call on him when they wanted a hard-liner’s take. But his proposals — including an early version of the controversial family separation policy to deter migrants — were often rejected. In the years since, Donald J. Trump’s rise has fully unleashed Mr. Homan and his ideas. In Mr. Trump’s first administration, Mr. Homan helped make the family separation policy a chaotic reality....

If you were to ask Elon Musk or President-elect Donald Trump for their thoughts on Luton, you’d imagine both would likely stare at you with blank faces. Actually, it might register slightly more with Musk. His private jet once touched down at Luton Airport. In the past few days, though, the name of Luton’s most infamous export – who once won an apprenticeship to that very airport, in fact – has been on the lips of some of the incoming president’s closest advisers and supporters. In the 20 years since Tommy Robinson’s first prison stint (for assaulting an off-duty police...

A blistering new report is claiming that Sen.Chuck Schumer was literally crying after some political posturing. ... Schumer met with Biden on July 13 (just a little over a week before Biden formally withdrew) and the agenda was simple: convince Joe Biden to withdraw from his re-election bid. “If there were a secret ballot among Democratic senators, Mr. Schumer would tell the president, no more than five would say he should continue running,” ... Biden was apparently kept in the dark about his re-election chances by his own team. ... Schumer couched his pleas with a veiled threat. “If you...

FORT PIERCE, Florida — A federal judge appeared highly skeptical Friday of Attorney General Merrick Garland’s plan to show lawmakers the volume of special counsel Jack Smith’s report pertaining to his now dismissed criminal case against President-elect Donald Trump for hoarding classified documents. With the clock counting down towards Trump’s inauguration on Monday, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon expressed serious doubts about nearly every argument a Justice Department attorney put forward for allowing the department to show four congressional leaders the portion of Smith’s report covering the classified-information probe. Over the course of a 90-minute public hearing, Cannon — a...

California regulators withdrew a proposal to mandate the sale of zero-emissions trucks over the next 20 years on Tuesday evening. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) pulled back its request to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for a waiver that would have allowed the state to require massive increases in sales of electric or zero-emissions truck models over the coming decades. As of 2023, only 0.3% of all registered heavy-duty vehicles in the U.S. were zero-emissions models, according to the International Council on Clean Transportation. CARB’s Advanced Clean Fleets rule would have mandated California’s truck fleet to move to zero-emission...

As lawyers, we often take a series of steps to protect the interests of our clients when it becomes necessary to sever or end representation. The dropping of a client can have a damaging impact on the reputation or standing of a client. That is why it was surprising to see Mark Lemley, a Stanford law professor publicly denounce Mark Zuckerberg as part of social media tirade. It is a deeply concerning lesson for students at a law school already rocked by prior controversies over intolerance for opposing viewpoints. When we take on a client, we are closely identified with...

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass got into office promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and promising to tackle homelessness and pollution — but she never promised to drain the swamp. Now she stands accused of adding to it, through “legalized corruption” and a number of eye opening scandals which have come to light after renewed scrutiny in the last two weeks following the revelation Bass and her cronies defunded the Los Angeles Fire Department by $17 million, contributing to them being underprepared to tackle the wildfires currently destroying the city. These include: • The deputy mayor raided by the FBI...

“She wants a small wedding, he wants a big wedding,” explained an outraged Reddit user of their unnamed sister-in-law’s unconventional plans to tie the knot. For their nontraditional nuptials, the “boujee” bride has arranged a destination micro-wedding to be held over three hours away from the pair’s hometown. Conversely, her groom has organized a large local bash. The nearly-weds have secured separate venues, hired staff and created two different gift registries, according to the post — which is firing up fury from fuming readers. “Dumbest, most self-centered thing I have ever heard,” scoffed an incensed commenter. “That’s insane,” said another,...

No one would ever refer to CIA Director William J. Burns as “Wild Bill,” the nickname of William J. Donovan, who led the OSS, the agency’s swashbuckling predecessor, during World War II. But the self-effacing Burns has bravely commanded a CIA force in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion nearly three years ago. Burns had just returned from his 14th visit to Ukraine when I visited him in late December at CIA headquarters. Two days before, he had been with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv. His trips are usually secret, but this time Zelensky posted a photo of the two shaking hands...

e says her husband’s well-paying job has come at an incredibly sad cost — her own career. “My husband earns well, not loads, but realistically it’s always going to be more than me. It naturally means my career has had to take a back seat while I’m at home with the kids,” she explained. “But we’ve got no additional support, and someone does need to do the child-related things. This lands on me.” Currently, the mother works part-time, but she isn’t satisfied. “Sometimes I wish I had the luxury of working more,” she said. “I miss my job and independence.”...
