Rudy Giuliani settles with Georgia women who won $148 million defamation judgment against him

The women, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, have spent months in court seeking to force Giuliani to turn over his possessions to them to help satisfy the massive judgment.

NEW YORK — Rudy Giuliani reached a deal Thursday with two Georgia women who won a $148 million defamation verdict against him that allows him to keep all of his property in exchange for a payment of unknown size — plus a promise to never again defame them.

The settlement saves Giuliani, the former New York City mayor, from the brink of losing both of his homes, as well as countless other pieces of valuable property. The women, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, have spent months in court seeking to force Giuliani to turn over his possessions to them to help satisfy the massive judgment.

....another CROCK from Politica, I once settled a ten million dollar judgment for $88,000. These “women” settled because Trump was coming into their life like a freight train AND Giulani would have never paid them a dime or given up any of his stuff anyway.

Rudy Giuliani is a genuine American hero. He has been targeted solely because of his unwavering support for Donald Trump.

Please, Mr. Trump. As soon as you take office, pardon Rudy for any crimes he might have committed. Then appoint him to some federal position. “Councilor to the President”, or something like that.

That would give Rudy access to federal health care, and a federal pension. No one deserves that more than he does.

This is strange how they exerted so much power on Rudy when they were recorded handling ballots.

Very strange. Who was behind the scenes REALLY in charge of the attack on Rudy

I was thinking about that as well but I don’t think a pardon would absolved him of the liability as fake as the judgement is.

What ticks me off is he merely stated his opinion, that it looked like these 2 women were counting fraudulent ballots which is exactly what it seemed like to me. Meanwhile all the innocent people who were pushed to bankruptcy in legal fees by the Russia collusion hoax are completely ignored.

Were I in Rudy’s position I would have been tempted to settle this score in a more dramatic fashion. And the settling of this would have been with more than a couple of ballot counters.

$148 million, not even people who are paralyzed from the neck down because of medical malpractice are awarded that much. It’s absolutely blatant hardcore abuse.

Don’t forget that the usurping regime insulted all of America by bestowing Medals of Freedom upon these corrupt women for excellence in vote cheating.

Are either of these the individual who was on videotape feeding the same ballot through a counting machine over and over?

Never heard what happened in that case.

White House Counsel. It already exists. Doesn’t need to be created.

More proof that US legal system is garbage. It’s not objective, just or predictable.
What a worldwide embarrassment.

I am glad that Rudy had been unshackled from this farce. The democrats kicked out the Republican Poll Watchers and as soon as the Republicans were gone, the ballots came out from under the tables. There were shenanigans there that night.

I guess that's Atlanta justice if the woman feeding the same ballot through a counting machine over and over faced no consequences and then sued someone else for defamation.

They sneaked into the Reparations Money Vault through the back door because Rudy supposedly screwed up their claim to fame.

I’m pretty sure the defamation suit was in NYC.

$148 million is insane. There is something wrong with these judgements. An unknown amount great..... but I think some recent judgements are constitutionally wrong. Don’t you think 148 million is a little much. I think the whole lawsuit was against the 8th Amendment.
Excessive fines, on the other hand, are penalties imposed by the government that are disproportionately severe in relation to the offense. These fines are meant to serve as both punishment and deterrence, but when they exceed reasonable limits, they can cause undue financial hardship and infringe on individual rights. For example, in the case of Timbs v. Indiana (2019), the Supreme Court ruled that the seizure of a $42,000 vehicle for a drug offense with a maximum fine of $10,000 was an excessive fine, violating the 8th Amendment. This ruling reinforced the idea that fines must be proportionate to the offense and not used as a means of oppression.

In essence, both excessive bail and excessive fines serve as checks on governmental power, ensuring that the legal system remains fair and just. These protections are vital for maintaining public trust in the justice system, preventing the state from using its power to punish individuals excessively or unfairly.
