“After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water” (Matthew 3:16). Christians, especially new believers, sometimes wonder what mode of baptism Jesus underwent, and therefore wonder which is correct for them to experience. Since genuine baptism represents cleansing from sin and symbolizes the believer’s identification with Christ’s death and resurrection, the ordinance must involve immersion, not merely sprinkling or pouring. The Greek word (baptizo) literally means to dip or submerge an object into water or another liquid. Confusion regarding the word’s meaning resulted largely because Latin and more modern-language translations of Scripture simply transliterated many occurrences of the Greek...

Nigel Farage on the Sunday shows in the UK He says Starmer has a choice to make: Tie yourself to a failing Europe or associate with a booming America under Donald Trump in terms of trade deals. I missed most of what he said on the rape gangs I had the volume turned down 😳 Will check the news.

I am euphemistically known as a "solo ager," a 66-year-old child-free widower with no plans to seek another primary intimate monogamous relationship. I must admit that the term "solo ager" is preferable to the horrible designation made by other social scientists who refer to me as an "elder orphan." That phrase reeks of an aging Oliver Twist, developmentally frozen in the pain of abandonment and fear. 3 Steps for Successful Solo Aging 1. While You Are Healthy, Make Plans. Complete advance directives and designate a trusted health care proxy. Spell out personal wishes regarding medical treatment. Grant someone the power...

For decades, I stood as a proud member of the Conservative Party, through the highs and the lows, always believing in its mission to uphold British values and defend the interests of the people. But the party I once knew, the one I dedicated my career to, has lost its way. It has become a hollow shell of its former self – unrecognisable, ineffective, and entirely detached from the needs of the British public. I am a patriot, and I refuse to stand by while this great nation crumbles. The betrayals of recent years are too severe to ignore. Loyalty...

The aircraft's flight data recorder (FDR) was found to be partially damaged, making data extraction impossible on-site. Officials plan to send the FDR to the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board in Washington for analysis on Monday. Separately, authorities have begun the process of returning victims' personal vehicles to their families, with applications being accepted from relatives. Digital forensic analysis is also being conducted on 107 mobile phones recovered from the crash site under the consent of the families. Investigators are hoping the analysis might yield critical information that might shed light on the in-cabin situation just before the crash.

Reform UK is just six points away from becoming the biggest party in parliament, an election predictor has found. Nigel Farage’s insurgent party could leapfrog both the Conservatives and Labour by gaining a few more percentage points of support, according to the analysis by polling firm Electoral Calculus. If the party reached 28 per cent of the popular vote at an election, it would likely become the largest force in the House of Commons, though short of an overall majority. On current polling trends, Reform would reach this threshold within six months if it continues to pick up support at...

There were two presidential campaigns in 2024: one between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, and then one between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. The first began to end, and the second began to take shape, during the Trump-Biden debate held on June 27. The story of that debate was President Biden, who looked and sounded dreadful. His performance confirmed Democrats’ worst fears and Republicans’ best argument: Joe Biden, born 11 months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, was too old and cognitively diminished to discharge his presidential duties now, much less over the course of a second term that would...

As Joe Biden nears the end of his failed term as president, a handful of mainstream journalists are finally starting to admit what most Americans already knew: The people (mostly journalists and other Democratic partisans) who kept insisting Biden was fit to serve another four years in the White House were profoundly wrong. Jan Crawford of CBS News said last week that Biden's "obvious cognitive decline" was the most "underreported" story of the year. Liberal journalist Matt Yglesias conceded that his prediction that Biden would "prove his doubters wrong" at the now-infamous CNN debate in June 2024 did not pan...

A night of revelry was coming to a close for Alexis Scott-Windham and her friends in the early hours of New Year's Day after they came from Mobile, Alabama, to ring in the new year on Bourbon Street. The group had reached their final stop of the evening, a pizza restaurant, to quickly use the restroom after finding out the restaurant was done selling food for the night. Then, standing outside the pizza parlor on the sidewalk, Scott-Windham heard the whizzing sound of a speeding car and several loud booms. She looked to her left and saw the white pickup...

At 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2025, the curtain will fall on the longest performance of “Hamlet” in history. Acting Justice Juan Merchan will finally decide whether “to be or not to be” the judge to sentence Trump to jail. (Spoiler alert: He appears set to avoid a jail sentence and likely reversal.) Since Trump’s conviction in May 2024, Merchan has contemplated his sentencing options. This was to be the orange-jump-suit moment many longed for over years of unrequited lawfare. They will likely be disappointed. As some of us noted after the verdict, this type of case would often result...

She’s taking a tough line on fossil fuels — except the ones she’s spewing. Gov. Hochul — who recently approved a controversial law that will force oil, natural-gas and coal companies to pony up $75 billion for carbon emissions allegedly contributing to global warming — has taken at least 30 flights aboard private jets since 2021 ... The $415,000 tab was picked up by her campaign committee.. “It’s very wasteful, especially for an elected official. There is no reason why any elected official in New York should be taking a private jet. .. Hochul flew with two private-airline companies, Zephyr...

Officials knew about the coronavirus breakout in the fall of 2019 — sooner than they claim — and the biotechnology used to create the virus developed in the U.S. and was then exported to China, Dr. Andrew Huff, author of The Truth About Wuhan: How I Uncovered the Biggest Lie in History, said on Breitbart News Saturday. Huff walked through some of the revelations, stating that “when you really boil this down, most of the biotechnology, or the advanced technology that was used to engineer SARS-CoV-2, was developed in the United States – primarily at the University of North Carolina...

As Joe Biden completes his last few weeks in the White House, he has honored 19 recipients, both alive and dead, with the Presidential Medal of Freedom - and some of his picks have ruffled feathers. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the US' highest civilian honor that is presented to individuals who make 'exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States' and beyond, according to the White House. Among the list of recipients that received the honor on Saturday are Hillary Clinton, former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, fashionista and Vogue head Anna Wintour, designer...
