When you order a steak at a restaurant or steakhouse, you expect the meat to have been cut directly from the source and not modified in any way. In a bid to cut costs, though, some restaurant and hotel chains use "meat glue" to bond pieces of meat together to create real-looking whole steaks, specifically filet mignon, the most tender cut of steak. Fortunately, there are several ways to tell when a restaurant does this. First, let's explain how restaurants form or pre-form filet mignon. They start by covering leftover chunks of meat with transglutaminase, an enzyme that the body...

Joe Biden, the current President of the United States, has instructed his staff to restore his candidacy for the presidency for the 2024 cycle. "I know I can do a lot better than Kamala Harris," he was heard to remark. Despite the election being over and having been decided for Donald Trump, Biden insisted that he would beat Trump in a rematch. He was quoted as saying, "I mean, come on! The thing! I can beat that clown! What, is he scared I'll beat him like I beat Corn Pop???" His staff has repeatedly attempted to inform the president that...

Two snow coaches traveling in Yellowstone National Park lost traction and drove off the same patch of road this week. The National Park Service and Xanterra, the park's hotel concessionaire, say both crashes were caused by icy conditions... Within two weeks of the 2024-2025 winter season opening in Yellowstone National Park, two Xanterra snow coaches slipped off the same section of road near Mammoth Hot Springs this week. Cowboy State Daily confirmed both incidents, the first of which happened about 7:30 a.m. Monday when a snow coach returning to the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel lost traction and slipped off the...

Now that Christmas Day has passed, I have put down my beloved copy of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol and picked up his masterpiece, A Tale of Two Cities. As I have argued before, that novel’s opening sentence perfectly captures the contradictions of our time: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it...

Syrian Leader Ahmad al-Sharaa: Liberating Syria secures regional and Gulf stability for 50 years. Elections require a full census and may take four years. Constitution drafting will span three years for a lasting framework.

The reason you generally have pardons or commutations is because there's a problem with the case. Maybe improper prosecution or some question about the evidence, for example. In the case of the Jan. 6 defendants, there are a variety of questions along those lines -- unfair prosecution and/or sentences. But in the case of the 37 cases of commutation of the death penalty by Joe Biden, it was just because Biden -- or the handlers behind him -- thought that the death penalty was wrong. There weren't any questions in any of the cases he commuted. Biden/the handlers were replacing...

This week the same press which has consistently lied about Trump confected a split between the DOGE team and Trump. I don’t know if you’re old enough to remember the musical Brigadoon. It was about a Scottish village that disappears in the mists and only reappears once every hundred years. The District of Columbia and its federal components often remind me of that. On a local level (perhaps a tradition from pre-air conditioning days) the place is somnolent for all practical purposes in the summer and even through much of the spring. Then, just before Thanksgiving, the courts suddenly schedule...

The media is hyping up outrage over the fact that UN’s World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus was at a Houthi airport in Yemen during Israel’s retaliation against the Islamic terrorist group over its attacks on Israel. The Houthis have spent over a year attacking international shipping, holding hostages, including from the UN, and generally following Tehran’s orders to terrorize as much of the world as they can reach. (All of this was enabled by Biden’s decision to drop support for the Saudi campaign against them and dismantle the Trump measures set up to control Houthi Islamic terrorism.) The...

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is set to visit Moscow on Jan. 17 and sign a cooperation agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian state news agency RIA cited Iran’s ambassador to Russia as saying on Thursday. Russia has cultivated closer ties with Iran and other countries hostile towards the U.S., such as North Korea, since the start of the Ukraine war. The country’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in October that Moscow and Tehran intended to sign a deal which would include closer defence cooperation.

יוסף חדאד - Yoseph Haddad @YosephHaddad · Al Jazeera posted about the terror attack that happened this morning in Herzliya... just look at these numbers to understand who we’re dealing with... over 4,500 people liked it, over 1,400 loved it, and 490 laughed at it because apparently it's funny to kill an Israeli. 155 felt warm and apparently enjoy this news. And that's just from the first hour! These are the sick people who are following the @AJArabic news channel, but I'm not surprised... they’re a terrorist organization masquerading as a media channel with evidence that their journalists are active...

Michelle Obama provoked a wave of online criticism Friday after she shared a New Year's message with her followers on Instagram. The former first lady posted a video wishing her followers "Happy Holidays" and highlighting the work of the Obama Presidential Center as 2024 comes to a close. But critics noted with disapproval that her video begins on a sour note. "Happy holidays, everyone. I know it's been a difficult few months for so many of us, and that folks are feeling a little bit anxious and uncertain," Obama says in the video. "But even during these tough times, there...

Two Oregon men who ventured into the woods of Washington state on a Christmas Eve hunt for Sasquatch have been found dead, authorities confirmed on Saturday. The 59-year-old and 37-year-old, whose names have not yet been released, tragically failed to return from their expedition, sparking a frantic three-day search across the rugged Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The men's deaths are believed to be the result of exposure to the harsh winter conditions. With no signs of foul play or injury, authorities speculate that the pair's lack of preparation for the extreme weather may have led to their deaths. The Sheriff's...

“In [Christ] all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16). Christ created everyone and everything. The sheer size of the universe is staggering. The sun, for example, could hold 1.3 million planets the size of Earth inside it. The galaxy to which our sun belongs, the Milky Way, contains hundreds of billions of stars. And astronomers estimate there are millions, or even billions, of galaxies. Who created this awesome universe? According to the false teachers...

The shocking rise in the number of newborn babies found abandoned in Texas has unnerved communities, raising urgent questions about women's reproductive health. At least 18 babies have been abandoned in the Lone Star state this year, with the latest found just before Christmas at a Whataburger fast food chain in San Antonio, according to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. A decade ago, the number of abandoned babies per year sat at just seven. It is not clear whether or not there is a common link between the increasingly common tragedies. However, the alarming rate of abandonment...

Trump just reposted this on Truth Social:

The internal rift inside the MAGA movement over the H-1B visa continues to play out on X with Elon Musk attacking a critic of the program on Friday using a profane quote from Tom Cruise's character in the movie "Tropic Thunder." Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who have been tapped by President-elect Trump to lead his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), argued earlier this week that American culture has not prioritized education enough and therefore foreign workers are needed for tech companies like Musk’s SpaceX and Tesla. Many tech companies have embraced the H-1B visa program, which allows U.S. companies to...

Trump is vibing at a Mar-a-Lago party tonight. Melania has been by his side all night.

US President Joe Biden reportedly regrets withdrawing from this year’s presidential race, expressing confidence that he could have defeated Donald Trump in last month’s election despite polling that suggested otherwise, according to White House sources quoted in a newly published Washington Post profile. The President has also expressed dissatisfaction with his decision to appoint Merrick Garland as attorney general. Biden is said to believe that Garland was slow to prosecute Trump for his role in the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots while presiding over a Justice Department that aggressively pursued charges against Biden’s son, Hunter. Biden announced his withdrawal from...

For the past few days, certain highly visible elements of the MAGA coalition have been sparring with one another. Specifically, X users have been privy to an extensive immigration policy flame war between two competing MAGA coalition camps: the pro-immigration "tech bros," on the one hand, and the nationalist-populist immigration restrictionists, on the other hand. The debate has focused, above all, on the thorny question of so-called high-skill immigration. A Politico headline summarized the dispute as "Elon Musk vs. Stephen Miller." The "tech bros," led by Musk and his incoming Department of Government Efficiency co-chair Vivek Ramaswamy, have been arguing...
