Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) said she hopes President-elect Trump’s attorney general pick, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, will aim to “uphold the Constitution” if the Senate confirms her for the position. “Pam Bondi will have a hearing and will be able to make her views clear. I think the things that I look at, is this someone competent? And are they going to uphold the law? It is so important,” Klobuchar said Sunday on ABC News’s “This Week.”

The National headlines has been pretty much a back and forth between the new Border Czar Thomas Homan and Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker. Illinois State Rep Mike Coffey Illinois 95th district was at the border in September 2023 with...

Donn Fendler credited wild berries and a Boy Scout's 'never-give-up attitude' for his survival after he was separated from his family, aged 12, atop Maine's highest peak in 1939. They helped him through nine tough days traversing Mt. Katahdin's dense wilderness — battling hunger, fatigue, hallucinations, bugs, and leeches. He even lost his shoes in a river. Fendler's gripping survival story was front-page news in the build up to World War Two, and the boy's grit earned him an award from President Franklin D. Roosevelt. After more than a decade of court battles and legislative jousting over voting rules, North Carolina this month held its first general election under its new voter ID law.And unlike the pitched battles of the past, it felt like a fight that had largely been fought to a draw, with a more muted ID requirement, and very few ballots that were disqualified. In 2013, when North Carolina’s Republican-run State Legislature first required voters to pull out a photo ID card before casting a ballot, it stirred a hornet’s nest of protest that the real goal was to keep nonwhite, mostly Democratic,...

But how exactly might this tour differ from the last tumultuous term? To get a better sense of what is to come — in the Senate confirmation hearings for his controversial Cabinet picks,...

COP29, formally the Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), is the 19th edition of the U.N.’s official assembly to discuss how to address the alleged global climate crisis. Around 50,000 people flew in from around...
