The infuriating story of the Matt Gaetz nomination is a learning opportunity, President Trump nominated Congressman Gaetz to be Attorney General, and the deep state understandably went ballistic, because Gaetz doesn’t mind making enemies; he would clearly enjoy doing exactly what needs to be done at the Dept of Justice. There are four broad categories that must be fixed at Justice: It has too many bureaus, too many agencies, some of which are outright destructive. Most department heads zealously defend the size of their budgets and sizes, even if they want to retool them. A good AG will make the...

Vitamin D supplements may lower blood pressure in older people with obesity and taking more than the Institutes of Medicine's (IOM) recommended daily dose does not provide additional health benefits, according to research. The IOM recommends 600 International Units (IU) per day. Vitamin D deficiency is common worldwide and has been associated with heart disease, immunological diseases, infections and cancer. Studies have linked vitamin D deficiency to a higher risk of hypertension, but evidence for the beneficial effect of vitamin D supplementation on blood pressure outcomes is inconclusive. "Our study found vitamin D supplementation may decrease blood pressure in specific...

A study has concluded that the use of monochromatic infrared light in conjunction with conventional physical therapy is a promising alternative for the treatment of peripheral diabetic neuropathy, a type of nerve damage that most often affects the legs and feet, and one of the most frequent, insidious and incapacitating complications of diabetes. Pharmacological treatment is usual in this case, but other therapeutic possibilities can help relieve the discomfort without the side effects caused by drugs, such as dry mouth, postural hypotension and urinary retention. "The lives and functionality of people with diabetes are so severely damaged by the problem...

Former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers is no longer under consideration to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the incoming administration, according to a senior adviser to President-elect Trump. Dan Scavino, who will serve as deputy chief of staff in the new White House, posted Friday on social media that a Rogers hire is "not happening." "Just spoke to President Trump regarding Mike Rogers going to the FBI. It’s not happening — In his own words, ‘I have never even given it a thought.’ Not happening," Scavino said. Rogers, the 2024 Republican Senate nominee in Michigan who lost his election...

A mysterious byproduct of a chemical used to disinfect the tap water of about one-third of Americans has finally been identified, and the international research team behind the discovery is advocating rapid assessment of its potential toxicity. The research, reported Thursday in the journal Science, does not claim that tap water containing the byproduct is unsafe to drink or that the finding represents any kind of emergency. All water, including bottled water, contains contaminants. But the discovery of a new and previously unknown chemical, called chloronitramide anion, could have implications for municipal water systems that use a class of chlorine-based...

Democratic strategist James Carville described Attorney General Merrick Garland as “horribly naive” for how long it took him to prosecute President-elect Donald Trump. Garland appointed special counsel Jack Smith in November 2022, days after Trump announced he would run for the presidency again, with the special counsel first indicting him in June 2023. Responding to a listener question on “Politics War Room” about how poorly history would perceive Garland “for failing to adequately investigate and indict Trump soon enough,” Carville argued the attorney general was overly “respectful of tradition” and “institutions.” LISTEN: “I think that Merrick Garland is gonna go...

The incoming Trump administration must tackle the monumental task of undoing “incalculable” damage done to the U.S. via the Biden-Harris invasion, according to Jeremy Carl, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior. “It’s going to take some really tough folks to get mass deportations done, but I think [Border Czar Tom] Homan has indicated he is ready to fire on all cylinders, and certainly President Trump is and Stephen Miller is. It’s going to be a bit of an early gut check, but I am optimistic we are going to pass it,” Carl told Border Hawk. “There were smart...

Although he will be resigning his position as Senate Majority Leader, he has summarily decided to take over two different leadership positions instead, with the apparent blessing of Senate Republicans — including that of the new Senate Majority Leader, John Thune. In a statement released on the Senate Majority Leader’s official website, McConnell has announced that he will be chairing both the Senate Rules Committee and the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense.I likely don’t have to remind you of this video of Mitch McConnell completely freezing up during a press conference last year. The Senate Majority Leader of the United States had...

There are a few easy ways to determine someone’s age. You can ask them how old they are, look at their driver’s license, or, to make it more fun, toss out an educated guess based on the slang terms they use. Many slang words and phrases are pretty indicative of a certain time period. That’s because new terms are coined each generation, while older slang eventually falls out of fashion. Generational divides can be spotted by the popular slang terms that came about during each time period. Silent Generation The Silent Generation encompasses people born between 1928 and 1945, when...

Trump's pick for Surgeon General , Dr Janette Nesheiwat was terrible on COVID.. She believed Delta was particularly harmful to kids. It was not. She claimed we were running out of ICU beds. We were not. She said masks mitigated spread. They did not. She's an awful pick for SG. ... Despite Dr. Nesheiwat's claims, we were never "running out of ICU beds." ... Pro-mask - deal breaker . ... Flynn, who served as President-elect Donald Trump's first National Security Advisor, said there does not appear to be any communication between Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin on how to move forward. Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn on Friday said there needs to be more communication between the White House and Russia, in order to de-escalate tension between the two countries after Ukraine fired multiple U.S.-made long range missiles into Russian territory this week. President Joe Biden gave Ukraine the green light to launch U.S.-made missiles into Russia over the weekend, which Russia warned could lead to a third...

The president of the United States travels to Texas to mitigate factional strife in his Democratic Party, and on Nov. 22, 1963, is gunned down on a Dallas street. Two days later, alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald is shot by hustler Jack Ruby. JFK’s majestic Nov. 25 funeral, planned in detail by wife Jacqueline, provides no closure. American government has been fundamentally shaken. Oswald’s televised murder precludes a trial, and greatly encourages conspiracy theories. Fascination with, and controversy about President Kennedy continues. In 2013, floods of books, articles and commentaries mark the half-century since his death. Kennedy’s legacy is complex...

American workers’ opinion on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts have soured over the last year, according to a survey. A Pew Research study found that the share of American workers who believe DEI is a “good thing” has dropped from 56 percent in February 2023 to 52 percent in October 2024. Twenty-one percent of U.S. workers believe that DEI is a “bad thing,” a five percent increase from February 2023.

As more companies jump on the bandwagon mandating five days a week in the office, workplace experts and researchers are sounding a warning: Inflexible policies could derail efforts to recruit and retain underrepresented workers and make organizations less diverse over time.… The reversal in policy is leading to a backlash from workers who have protested or even quit. Some researchers who study remote work and workplace productivity say in-office mandates most negatively impact underrepresented workers such as women and minorities, as well as caregivers and those who are neurodiverse. “The workforce will become less diverse,” said Prithwiraj Choudhury, a Harvard...

“The View” co-hosts just can’t help themselves when it comes to smearing conservatives. As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Sunny Hostin was forced to read legal notes twice earlier this week after smearing Trump cabinet nominees former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) (since withdrawn) and Pete Hegseth. Gaetz has been dogged by baseless sex trafficking allegations for years, while Hegseth has been accused of sexual assault without evidence. On Friday, the women decided to double down on these smears, evidently thinking viewers and their ABC bosses would not call them out.But they once again miscalculated. A fuming Hostin announced she had two legal...

Is anyone else getting serious World War III vibes? The Russkies are threatening to bomb US air bases in Poland after launching nuclear-capable hypersonic missiles at Ukraine. This Putin escalation comes after a White House decision to greenlight Kyiv's lobbing of long-range American-made rockets into Mad Vlad's backyard, killing North Korean mercenaries. Hey, 2024, it's 1914 calling. They want their global insanity back. At a time like this, one prays for a steady hand on the Oval Office tiller. So, it's too bad Drowsy Joe's crinkly, sun-spotted digits are too slippery with chocolate ice cream to get a grip. Who...
