As more companies jump on the bandwagon mandating five days a week in the office, workplace experts and researchers are sounding a warning: Inflexible policies could derail efforts to recruit and retain underrepresented workers and make organizations less diverse over time.

The reversal in policy is leading to a backlash from workers who have protested or even quit. Some researchers who study remote work and workplace productivity say in-office mandates most negatively impact underrepresented workers such as women and minorities, as well as caregivers and those who are neurodiverse.
“The workforce will become less diverse,” said Prithwiraj Choudhury, a Harvard Business School professor who studies remote work, adding that companies also risk losing top performers. “It will be more White and more male.” …

Companies need to see how stupid this looks. United Airlines is using DEI to hire pilots. WTF? By all means, let’s not hire the best, safest pilots we can find but rather hire on the basis of DEI. When UAL announced this a while back, I cut up my UAL credit card.

I liked working outside of an office, so I went into outside sales! Totally merit based income with a base salary plus commission. Funny how this type of position quickly defines and identifies the workers from those who watch the clock…punch in and punch out. I eventually went out as independent (no base), representing several manufacturers and now my daughter is doing the same. If you don’t work you lose your lines and have no income, but if you work hard you have freedom to schedule that work, take care of your kids and have a pretty good life.
Liberals have the racist view that minorities are helpless children.
When Georgia required Gov’t ID to vote, and did away with most mail-in voting, liberals clutched their pearls and ran to the fainting couch. Well, black voting set records afterwards. I’m pretty sure that blacks, browns, etc will figure out how to show up for work.

Wonderful!!! I wish I had gone that route. A friend’s dad sold construction materials and set his own schedule. His daughter also went into outside sales and did so well that she retired at 55!

I had to look that one up. It’s NewSpeak word for mentally ill. It would be really unfair to keep those mentally ill people out of the office.
