Resistance to DEI Among Workers Grows

American workers’ opinion on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts have soured over the last year, according to a survey.

A Pew Research study found that the share of American workers who believe DEI is a “good thing” has dropped from 56 percent in February 2023 to 52 percent in October 2024. Twenty-one percent of U.S. workers believe that DEI is a “bad thing,” a five percent increase from February 2023.

I would do handsprings around a sentence to avoid referring to someone doing that but, thank goodness, have never come face to face with anyone in that situation so haven’t had to get verbally creative. But the number of my liberal friends who tell me they have a trans relative is absolutely staggering.

Woke korporate officers are finding out too late in the game that Didn't Earn It (DEI) can be used against them, holding them to an impossible standard that just makes them ripe for lawsuits - from the DEI hires themselves.

They're also seeing that the best job applicants don't apply for jobs at the korporation and the best employees leave to go work for one of their suppliers. The korporate officers tried to stem the outflow and remove options for candidates by forcing suppliers to hire a certain percentage of DEI subfirms, but the suppliers legitimately required the DEI subfirms to meet the same standards the prime firm has to meet. The DEI firms can't meet the standards which effectively keeps them out of contention.

For those DEI firms that do get contracts, the korporate officers learn that the burden of checking all their work now falls on employees who are leaving to work for other non-DEI suppliers. Quality drops to unfathomable levels as the korporation continues to slide further into decline while the best talent ends up working for the companies on the other side of the table.

Too late, no refunds.

Expect to see much more propaganda blaming American workers for opposing Didn't Earn It (DEI) to deflect from the truth that the korporate boards oppose it but don't dare say it publicly.

The korporate boards want it but don't want to face the increasing calls from the workers to make good for the goose what's good for the gander.

If the workforce is expected to have a certain skin tone and genitalia, why not start with the korporate board? Also, if the contracts are to be fulfilled a certain percentage of minority-owned or women-owned businesses, why not have the same percentages of staff reporting directly to the CEO be consultants?

"Mr. Manager, we're reserving 20% of the positions reporting to you for outside consultants and contractors from certified minority-owned businesses and 10% to be from women-owned businesses."

~"Sounds like a plan. Let's announce to the public that 20% of the positions reporting to the CEO will be outside consultants from certified minority-owned businesses and 10% will be from women-owned businesses. Let the CEO lead by example and give him no peace until he does."

And note, the real anti-DEI percentages may be higher due to people who stay away from answering such surveys honestly.

I’d argue that there was never much support there in the first place, but now that Trumps victory is solidified, people are more outspoken against that crap.
