Oklahoma’s Republican governor wants to help import low-wage migrants for local work that would otherwise provide decent wages and salaries needed by Oklahomans and their children. “I want to create opportunities to bring the best [foreign] talent to Oklahoma,” Gov. Kevin Stitt said Thursday on Twitter, just before Labor Day weekend, after a state-funded task force recommended the state legislature pass legislation to help employers hire migrants instead of Americans:

A network of Republicans is reportedly backing the ballot access efforts of several third party and independent presidential candidates, aiming to either place or keep them on state ballots to siphon support from the Democratic Party ticket in the upcoming election. According to the Associated Press, Republican operatives, lawyers, and allies have been assisting at least three third party or independent presidential campaigns in securing state ballot access. The sources of funding for these efforts remain unclear, and the individuals and organizations involved vary depending on the state. However, Republicans or individuals with Republican ties have reportedly supported the presidential...

Hamas put out a video message on Telegram Monday that threatened to release a second video soon of the recently executed six hostages and their "last message" before their death, according to reports. All six of the hostages whose bodies were recovered Sunday by the IDF are shown speaking into a camera and confirming their identities. The video then cuts to a still frame with the threat to release their "last message to the world," according to The Jerusalem Post.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to criticism Monday from President Joe Biden by saying that pressuring Israel, in the wake of Hamas’s murder of six hostages, will only encourage Hamas to kill more hostages. Netanyahu, speaking at a press briefing, delivered a presentation almost entirely in Hebrew. He began by noting that Israel is in an existential struggle for survival against a brutal enemy. He apologized — as he had done before — to the families of the six murdered hostages, including American-Israeli Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who were killed as Israeli soldiers neared the location underground where they were being...

The U.S. has confiscated Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro‘s $13 billion plane in the Dominican Republic due to violations of sanctions, as reported by CNN. Earlier this year, the United States reinstated sanctions on Venezuela’s oil and gas industry due to the Maduro administration’s refusal to facilitate “an inclusive and competitive election.” According to U.S. officials, the aircraft was flown to Florida on Monday, underscoring escalating tensions between the two nations.

In an Instagram story posted on Sunday, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat, blasted Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein as "predatory" due to her multiple runs for the White House while struggling to grow the third party at the grassroots level. In 2016, Stein played kingmaker in several key battleground states. Her vote total was higher than Donald Trump's margin of victory in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan—prompting intense backlash from Democrats and political pundits. Not only was Stein widely condemned as a spoiler, but former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who was the Democratic nominee during the 2016...

Discover the “Joy” Of: 1. high inflation, and its effects on your wallet 2. wide-open borders; incidentally, it wasn’t that long ago that Mayorkas, et al, proclaimed that everything was okay at the border. The very fact that the “border czar” now rejects this title makes it easy for everyone (including her voters) to understand, simply, the border was never secure after they took over. 3. paying (in more ways than one) to support millions of illegal immigrants who all happen to be “asylum seekers.” But, on the bright side, one can buy slices of tropical fruits and bottles of...

Victor Shi loving Kamala Harris's new 'nickname' SO MUCH only makes this funnier. See, MALA can mean a couple of different things ... and it's not what he thinks. Oh sure, they can push the MALA (Make America Love Again) nonsense but those of us with brains in our heads know it's anything but that. But first, let's allow Vic to really make a fool of himself: A friend just sent me this & I love it so much. pic.twitter.com/yPWplky2a6 — Victor Shi (@Victorshi2020) August 30, 2024 He loves it so much. Day #13 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I'm posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the next couple of months. I only post them on weekdays and may miss a day or two here and there, so it will take at least ten weeks to do this. And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post...

The September 1 regional elections German Chancellor Olaf Scholz didn't want to see coming hit him and his ruling coalition like a ton of bricks anyway."Crushed" was a commonly used adjective from Bloomberg to other major news organs routinely covering Europe. When it comes to Germany, I don’t think it’s “uncharted territory” pic.twitter.com/OONsFMYjse— nazir afzal (@nazirafzal) September 2, 2024The gloom about the populist party's rise is tangible through all the reports. The margin of the gains has to be an especially bitter pill with all the concerted demonization, vitriol, and hyperbole - not to mention flat-out politically based persecution - thrown...

Consider Mark Zuckerberg’s revelation and its implications for our understanding of the last four years, and what it means for the future. On many subjects important to public life today, vast numbers of people know the truth, and yet the official channels of information sharing are reluctant to admit it. The Fed admits no fault in inflation and neither do most members of Congress. The food companies don’t admit the harm of the mainstream American diet. The pharmaceutical companies are loath to admit any injury. Media companies deny any bias. So on it goes. And yet everyone else does know,...

VIDEOI used the TikTok Tell to determine just how much of a disaster the Kamala interview on CNN was. I went to TikTok and entered these three words into their search: "Kamala CNN Interview".Try it for yourselves. You will see almost NO favorable impressions of Kamala Harris' performance (along with Tim Walz) on that interview. In fact the very few pro-Kamala videos that you will see concerning that interview will also reveal what a disaster it was. In this video I present one of those pro-Kamala TikTok videos made by Zerlina Maxwell who hosts a show on SiriusXM and she...

California Democrats voted against Vice President Kamala Harris’ “no tax on tips” proposal”— an idea she stole from former President Donald Trump’s playbook. Democrats refused to consider the proposal without discussing or debating the issue. The bill would have alleviated some of the tax burden workers who rely on tips face. It would have exempted those tips from state income taxes and allowed hospitality and service industry employees, such as bartenders and waiters, to take home more of their paychecks. Earlier this month, I reported that Harris, who has refused to release a policy page on her campaign website, can...

Archaeologists in Israel uncovered a stone seal they believe to be around 2,700 years old from the First Temple period, a find that strengthens the biblical heritage of Jerusalem. The seal, discovered at the City of David National Park in Jerusalem, contains a winged figure with one arm raised forward with an open palm, the Israeli Antiquities Authority announced. The seal was discovered during excavations conducted by the Israel Antiquities Authority and the City of David Foundation near the Southern Wall of the Temple Mount in the Davidson Archaeological Garden. On either side of the figure is an inscription in...

Obamacare is one of the biggest examples of false advertising in history.According to this article from wikipedia, the original, official name of Obamacare was “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act,” and it was later changed to “Affordable Care Act.”Please note the use of the word “affordable” in both versions of the official name. That was how Democrats advertised Obamacare to the voters: “affordable” health care. However, on July 17, 2024, CBS News published this article, which revealed the actual truth about Obamacare. The article is called, “Americans spend more on health care than any other nation. Yet almost half can’t afford care.”This...

Before Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race, Trump was gaining ground in a number of blue states. Maine, Virginia, New Hampshire, and even Minnesota were in or approaching toss-up territory. When Kamala replaced Biden on top of the ticket, the polls told us that these states were no longer in reach for Trump. However, that may be changing. Recent polling shows that Virginia may still be in play, and Kamala is headed to New Hampshire this week, which may be a sign that her campaign is worried about the state. Now we're starting to see numbers that suggest...

OK, so I may have used Twitter some 5 times in the last 10 years or so since I first joined. If anything is worth reading or posting - this is what Free Republic is for. So anyway I go to X.com to see for reference a tweet I posted in 2020. X says I have no posts. AND it says I joined in July 2023. Google tells me that is when Twitter became X. So did X wipe out all my previous Twitter posts? Has this happened to anyone else? Not gonna lose any sleep over this, but just...

Vice President Kamala Harris will apparently favor attacks on former President Donald Trump rather than “substance” at the September 10 ABC News presidential debate, according to a report. NBC News reported late Thursday on Harris’s plan, which centers around trying to agitate Trump: A source told NBC News that while Harris’ team is preparing to talk about a variety of topics, the campaign very much views the optics of the debate as critically important. To that end, the source said, Harris and her team are focusing on homing in on how to needle Trump to rattle him. In that sense,...

The President of Argentina has issued his first-ever veto, blocking a pension increase that would raise retirees’ payments to 9% above basic living costs. Milei called the bill “irrational” and said it would “seriously compromise the sustainability of Argentina’s public finances.” He argues the pension system can't meet the increase without more debt or higher taxes - adding an estimated AR$300 billion (approximately US$310 million) to the budget. However, with strong support in Congress for the original bill, lawmakers may have the numbers to overturn the veto Source: Buenos Aires Herald
