The US Army issued a stark rebuke of former President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign over the incident on Monday at Arlington National Cemetery, saying in a statement on Thursday that participants in the ceremony “were made aware of federal laws” regarding political activity at the cemetery, and “abruptly pushed aside” an employee of the cemetery.“Participants in the August 26th ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds. An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside,”...

According to a Xinhua report, a sandstone door guardian statue, or Dvarapala, has been uncovered near the second gate at the Banteay Prei temple in northwestern Cambodia's Angkor Archaeological Park by researchers from the Apsara National Authority (ANA). The temple was constructed by the Khmer king Jayavarman VII (reigned 1181–1218) in the late twelfth or early thirteenth century. When the second gate's upper structure collapsed, the statue, which stood about five feet tall, was knocked over, said ANA archaeologist Chea Sarith. "Despite this, the statue remains in relatively good condition," he said. "However, it was found head down facing west,...

Andy Stanley’s disdain for the Holy Scriptures is a well-established fact, and it is nothing new that he has been vocal in his condemnation of the inerrancy and authority of the Word of God. Andy Stanley says “theological diversity” is his church’s strength because it models what the Kingdom of God looks like—because nothing says “unity in Christ” like a theological free-for-all where everyone gets to pick their own contradictory “truth,” right? Apparently, the Kingdom of Andy Stanley’s god is a place where doctrines and biblical teaching is just a buffet line, and you can skip the parts you don’t...

fter a surge in home energy bills that left many New Jersey residents with costs that have doubled, or more, there have been widespread calls for hearings to hold the state utility commission, the governor and supporters of green energy accountable. State Sen. Mike Testa, R-Vineland, echoed those calls and said on Wednesday that much of the blame goes to Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy’s "Energy Master Plan," launched in 2020. "New Jersey is already one of the most unaffordable states in the United States of America. Now people are being hit with energy bills that are essentially doubled. And look,...

Shake Shack plans to close multiple "underperforming" restaurants in several U.S. states, according to a document filed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday (August 27). The popular chain plans to close nine stores located in California, Ohio and Texas, however, no other stores are expected to be affected and the plan won't impact expansion in the three states, according to the filing. All Shake Shack management affected by the closures will be offered positions at neighboring locations and hourly employees will be eligible for rehire. Six of the nine Shake Shacks scheduled to close are in California...

Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday offered her most expansive explanation to date on why she’s changed some of her positions on fracking and immigration, telling CNN’s Dana Bash her values haven’t shifted but that her time as vice president provided new perspective on some of the country’s most pressing issues. ... Pressed by Bash on her reversals on fracking and decriminalizing illegal border crossings, Harris sought to explain why her positions had changed. ... “How should voters look at some of the changes that you’ve made?” Bash asked Harris. “Is it because you have more experience now and you’ve...

CNN — Two top Ukrainian officials will present the Biden administration with a list of targets in Russia in face-to-face meetings this week, in an attempt to push the US to lift restrictions on the use of American weapons against Moscow, a Ukrainian lawmaker told CNN. Andriy Yermak, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, will meet with US officials “to try to concretely convince the White House to lift restrictions on long-range weapons strikes on Russian territory,” the lawmaker said. “They will provide a list of priority targets, without which it...

The lives of American sailors were valued less than appeasing Iran.. The Biden-Harris administration has spent the past months pressuring Israel into surrendering to Hamas Islamic terrorists and to avoid offending Hezbollah to avoid ‘escalation’. Now to be fair, this is also the same policy they’ve adopted for America. After a Houthi attack on an oil tanker led to a leak into the water (mostly ignored or minimized by the same media which went nuts over the Exxon-Valdez spill), we have to ask again why the United States has spent 8 months trying to stop attacks by an Islamic terrorist...

89-year-old Eva Edl — a survivor of Nazi invasion and a communist concentration camp — was recently arrested by Biden’s Department of Justice for praying and peacefully protesting outside an abortion clinic. She now faces 10 years in prison for violating the FACE Act. But before her sentencing, she spoke with Glenn about how we got here in the first place. How did people become so accepting of abortion? How did America’s courts, which she thought were beacons of freedom when she immigrated here, become tools of political movements? And why is the same government that let Biden off the...

An enraged ex-husband fatally shot his former wife and her new beau inside their million-dollar Long Island home Wednesday night after a bitter divorce battle, officials said. Daniel Coppola, 50, allegedly blasted the couple — Kelly Coppola, 50, and Kenneth Pohlman, 53 — in their St. James home around 11:45 p.m. while he warned his daughter to sit in his car outside 21 Brasswood Road, according to police. “The daughter was in the house and he reached out to her and told her to get out of the house,” Detective Lt. Kevin Breyer told reporters. Daniel Coppola then fled the...

new planet-wide electric field that is as fundamental to Earth as gravity has been discovered in a major scientific breakthrough. The ambipolar electric field, which begins 150 miles above the planet, has been described as a “great invisible force” that lifts up the sky and is responsible for the polar winds. The polar winds interact with the jet streams to help drive the majority of weather patterns across the globe. Until now, the field had only been theorised, but a Nasa team, which includes scientists from the University of Leicester, has now sent a rocket into the field and measured...

Day #11 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. The Center Square) – The California legislature passed a bill banning local governments from adopting voter identification laws for local elections. California does not require identification to vote, but earlier this year, the City of Huntington Beach approved a voter ID requirement for municipal elections starting in 2026. This bill would override Huntington Beach’s policy. “An overwhelming body of evidence proves that voter ID laws only subvert voter turnout and create barriers to law abiding voters,” wrote bill author State Sen.
