An enraged ex-husband fatally shot his former wife and her new beau inside their million-dollar Long Island home Wednesday night after a bitter divorce battle, officials said.
Daniel Coppola, 50, allegedly blasted the couple — Kelly Coppola, 50, and Kenneth Pohlman, 53 — in their St. James home around 11:45 p.m. while he warned his daughter to sit in his car outside 21 Brasswood Road, according to police.
“The daughter was in the house and he reached out to her and told her to get out of the house,” Detective Lt. Kevin Breyer told reporters.
Daniel Coppola then fled the gruesome scene while the suspicious teen — whom he shared with his ex-wife — grew worried about her mom.

Million dollar homes aren’t what they used to be.

Cheating wives divorce for cash and prizes.
Legally, it doesn’t justify unaliving them ...
But a justice system that doesn’t produce justice is guaranteed to incite unfortunate events.

In no way is murder ever appropriate of course, but I would speculate his wife divorced him because, “she wasn’t happy” and was sure fun, excitement, and (sexual) fulfillment was better on the other side. Her feminist friends probably encouraged her to divorce because she deserved to be happy. He, although not without fault, he likely got hosed by the courts and saw all his life’s work (house, pension, etc.) handed to his wife and her new Chad.

Million dollar house on Long Island would be a shanty. When she’s gone, she’s gone. Count your blessings and wish the new guy lots of luck. What I did.

Cheating wives divorce for cash and prizes. No clue if that was the case here. But I will say that even if it were proven that a wife commits adultery, she will still end up with 50% in all community property states. Now, if a husband were the adulterous one, he might get screwed over in court. Regardless, the lack of honoring wedding vows has led us to a very bad place.

War of the Roses (1989) is one of the best movies about divorce ever

Oliver Rose: I think you owe me a solid reason. I worked my ass off for you and the kids to have a nice life and you owe me a reason that makes sense. I want to hear it. Barbara Rose: Because. When I watch you eat. When I see you asleep. When I look at you lately, I just want to smash your face in.

So did I. I kept waiting for the part of the article that would explain.

Old joke. If you could get fifteen seconds of your life back, the prisons would be 85% empty. Wonder if this guy would want those fifteen seconds back or if he is happy for what he has done.

One thing I learned from my divorce - eventually! - is that you should not look for logic or reason. And to accept that it's over and move on.

I know a guy who bought a million dollar house on Cape Cod last year. It is a two bedroom 900 square foot ranch. It is about a five minute walk to the ocean.
