Vice President Kamala Harris finally took questions from the media ahead of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, spewing another one of her freshly prepared word salads.

The establishment media are whitewashing the Harris-Walz record in an attempt to reinvent the Democratic ticket, according to former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich. The media are presenting the Harris-Walz ticket as “new and moderate,” Gingrich observes, “creating a fantasy version of the candidates which bears no resemblance to reality.” On Monday, British journalist Tim Stanley echoed these same reflections, commenting on the media-orchestrated Kamala Harris makeover in the Telegraph. “Yesterday, she was an idiot,” Stanley notes; “today she is the second coming of Lincoln, with quirks that once made her absurd – that crazy laugh, her random use...

[Catholic Caucus] Archbishop Aguer: Young people are showing the world the importance of Catholic traditionIn the old and worn-out corners where the post-conciliar syndrome has reigned, multitudes of young people are joyfully discovering the Tradition of always and are embracing it as the authentic reality of a Church that is flourishing to bear fruit in contemporary society.Vulgar thinking assures us that tradition is constituted by the chain of traditions led by the old, and that the young are attracted by novelties, by the invention of new artifices. But the reality of the life of the Church and of the breach that...

The already-long 2024 presidential campaign has become the strangest in modern history. Here are 10 unanswered questions that illustrate how and why we’ve entered this bizarro world: 1. How can Kamala Harris merely promise us fixes to come in 2025 for inflation and an open border when she is still vice president for another six months? Why can’t she enact her proposed solutions to these problems (which she helped create) right now? 2. Would the media prefer to help her win but lose further credibility themselves by failing to ask why she has disowned her last three decades of leftist...

The joy is overwhelming. And nothing says joy like riots. Joyous mostly peaceful riots that require lots of plywood. Businesses in downtown Chicago have started boarding up their doors and windows ahead of next week’s Democratic National Convention, when thousands of anti-Israeli protesters are expected to descend on the Windy City. Boarded up windows and doors could be seen downtown Thursday “As we know, this city has a poor track record when it comes to protecting businesses,” said Scott Shapiro, owner of Syd Jerome. The looming unknowns ahead of next week’s convention are why Shapiro said he knew he had...

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's three-hour meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was "positive and conducted in a good spirit," according to a statement from his office. "The prime minister reiterated Israel's commitment to the latest American proposal regarding the release of our hostages —taking into account Israel's security needs, which he insists on firmly," Netanyahu's office said.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Monday with Israeli officials and pushed for a hostage and ceasefire deal as Democrats kicked off their convention in Chicago, with the goal of a deal by the end of the week. President Joe Biden laid out the end-of-week goal on Saturday, and Blinken claimed that it was the “last opportunity” for an agreement — though it was not clear why, other than the political goal of reaching a deal during the convention. Israeli President Isaac Herzog met with Blinken, and told the media afterwards that Hamas, not Israel, was blocking a hostage deal:...

As an unashamedly pro-life Christian who believes “life begins at conception,” New York Times journalist David French has announced that, “I’m going to vote for Kamala Harris in 2024 and — ironically enough — I’m doing it in part to try to save conservatism.” With all respect to Mr. French, with whom I’ve dialogued privately about this, I find his position both indefensible and bizarre.

“We head to Chicago on a wave of euphoria, exuberance, exultation, excitement and even, you might say, ecstasy.” — Maureen Dowd, The New York Times. Looking a little insurrection-ish at Chicago’s United Center all of a sudden as Illinois Governor Jabba the Pritzker orders a wall built around the perimeter to protect the Democratic Party from its very own basket of deplorables — the pro-Hamas, Antifa / BLM nose-ring-for-lunch bunch — with the state’s National Guard “on standby.” The New York Post and other news sources report 100,000 anti-Israel protesters migrating there to liven-up a convention that also has the...

It was a shot from above that killed would-be assassin Thomas Crooks at a July campaign rally where he almost murdered President Donald Trump. But it was a shot from below that took Crooks out of action first, according to a congressional report ... And that shot, fired by a local law enforcement sniper, was incredible. ... Louisiana Republican Rep. Clay Higgins... Crooks fired eight shots, killing a firefighter who attended the Butler, Pennsylvania, rally with his family, critically wounding two others, and coming within a hair’s breadth of ending the life of the 45th president. ... “The West Wing” star Martin Sheen joined Jen Psaki on MSNBC Sunday to talk politics, and quickly found himself gushing over an analogy drawn between former Republican President Ronald Reagan and 2024 Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. He told Psaki how moved he was to consider the similarities he saw between Reagan and Harris offering “hope” to the nation. “Reagan had an ad…a new dawn in America. It’s happened again. It’s a new day, America is the shining city on the hill a new Jerusalem. There is a new fresh air…It’s joy filled!”

... I was having such a good time that I almost completely forgot that the Democratic National Convention would be kicking off this week. Now, I'm no mental health professional, but I can comfortably recommend the benefits to forgetting about the Democrats for any amount of time. Because it's difficult to have nice things anymore, I returned to a world where far too many people are still under the impression that Kamala Harris could and should be the President of the United States of America. After spending most of this election limping along in disarray, the Democrats have finally found...

As WGN in Chicago reports, 100K Pro-Palestenian protesters are expected to be in Chicago for the Democrat National Convention. The recent assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump and the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in 1968 draw...
