For those who are out on the water near the Erie bayfront attempting to catch the Lake Erie alligator, Jayson Olsen from Siren's Nest of Exotic Rescue has some advice: Leave the task to the professionals. Olsen, 38, was out on Lake Erie around the foot of East Avenue where the alleged alligator was initially spotted. His journey began early Wednesday morning. Since then he has encountered individuals who are also seeking the alligator. "Let the professionals handle this," Olsen said. "If anything, call the (Erie-Western Pennsylvania) Port Authority or even the game warden or commission." Olsen, an animal trapper,...

Five decades have now passed since Richard Nixon tendered his resignation as president on the morning of August 9, 1974, in the climax to the Watergate scandal. In announcing his resignation in an Oval Office speech the previous evening, Nixon said little about the scandal itself, instead highlighting his own achievements in bringing peace to the Middle East and reopening relations between the United States and the People’s Republic of China. He attributed his resignation to the loss of his political base in Congress. That was true: a few days earlier, a delegation of Republican senators had visited the White...

Three men from the Dominican Republic have been extradited to New Jersey to face charges related to a massive "grandparents' scam” that stole millions from elderly Americans in the Northeast, the U.S. attorney announced. Juan Rafael Parra Arias, 41, Miguel Angel Vasquez, 24, and Jose Ismael Dilone Rodriguez, 34, of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, made their initial appearances in federal court in Newark on Monday and were ordered detained while awaiting trial. The three men are among 11 from the Dominican and 16 overall who were charged in a 19-count indictment on April 29 by U.S. Attorney Philip...

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Local leaders are looking to help more renters find a stable place to live with a new court-instituted rule. The Dayton Municipal Court will now seal eviction records. Dayton Clerk of Courts Marty Gehres says the goal is to create a fairer housing market. “Some local landlords and landlords across the country use databases that do background checks and if an individual does have an eviction on their record, it becomes extremely difficult for them to actually obtain long term stable housing,” said Gehres. Gehres says the new rule will also have an impact on children....

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — President Joe Biden on Saturday signed a $1.2 trillion package of spending bills after Congress had passed the long overdue legislation just hours earlier, ending the threat of a partial government shutdown.“This agreement represents a compromise, which means neither side got everything it wanted,” Biden said in a statement. “But it rejects extreme cuts from House Republicans and expands access to child care, invests in cancer research, funds mental health and substance use care, advances American leadership abroad, and provides resources to secure the border. ... That’s good news for the American people.” (snip) When combining...

A rally for Kamala Harris in Detroit, Michigan, on Wednesday reportedly ended in disaster with thousands stranded while certain staffers were brought to tears. According to political scientist Josiah Lippincott, the rally ended with people being unable to find shuttles back to their cars, leaving them stranded. “Complete chaos after the Detroit Kamala rally. It has been 2.5 hours and people are still unable to find shuttles back to their cars. Campaign staff has no idea what is happening. Rally was held near a UPS delivery center so dozens of trucks are mixed up with the buses. Tempers are high,”...

This election season, the Democrats have again descended into a quagmire of duplicity, lies, mindless name-calling, and one-upmanship. In response, the Republicans, including the Trump campaign, are predictably and foolishly initiating their own campaigns of name-calling and one-upmanship. In the meantime, the vast majority of Americans remain on the sidelines, watching the food fight. As a result, far too many fail to understand the threat the Democrat party, controlled by the Obama-led Marxist faction, poses to the country. In order to win in November, Donald Trump, his campaign surrogates, Republican candidates, and Republican party activists must single-mindedly focus on the...

The men’s 1,500-meter final always promised to deliver drama, but perhaps not quite like this. This was supposed to be a showdown between Jakob Ingebrigtsen, the reigning Olympic champion, and Josh Kerr, the world champion. So it was a shock to everyone inside the Stade de France when a different runner entirely surged into the lead in the final straight to claim an unlikely, improbable win. Cole Hocker’s victory was arguably the biggest upset of the Games so far, a wild ending to a thrilling race for the ages. The American stretched out his arms in delight as he crossed...

THIS is the moment a convoy of Ukrainian tanks rumble into Russia as Vladimir Putin's troops put up the white flag on their own turf. -snip- In Novoivanovka, the Ukrainians took prisoners, say reports. Previous footage showed dozens of soldiers submitting to Ukrainian forces as Russian positions in Nikolayevo-Darino and Oleshnya were raided amid intense cross-border offensive. Geolocated footage published by Ukraine Map shows dozens of men claimed to be Russians. Russian prisoners of war are seen in Ukrainian hands in a further humiliation for Putin. The surrendered soldiers and FSB border guards are shown on video after capture in...

There has been speculation about the effect of wind on the trajectory of the bullets fired at Presidential Candidate, former President Donald Trump. According to media reports, the would-be assassin fired from a position North of Donald Trump, about 130 meters away.Measurement on Google Maps puts the distance at about 441 feet, 147 yards, or 134 meters. This is close to the BBC estimate of 130 meters for the shot. The direction of the shot was from North to South, at about 20 degrees East of North toward 20 degrees West of South. Meridian Rd, on the right side of...

The problem with many liberals is they can’t live in their own truth. They abandon ship as soon as it becomes inconvenient to maintain their current persona. The most obvious and telling recent examples come from the Democrat Presidential candidate-by-fiat, Kamala Harris. For the last three and a half years, she was ‘The Border Czar.’ Everyone knew it. Biden announced it with much ballyhoo, and she was referred to as ‘The Border Czar’ by the television, print, and electronic media repeatedly. As the Vice President, she ran interference for Joe Biden. (He didn’t create the huge border fiasco; she did.)...

Kamala Harris has said she is prepared to meet with activists to discuss an arms embargo on Israel, according to reports. The Uncommitted National Movement – a pro-Palestinian, anti-war organization – said its founders spoke with the vice president and Governor Tim Walz at their campaign rally in Detroit on Wednesday... "The Vice President shared her sympathies and expressed an openness to a meeting with the Uncommitted leaders to discuss an arms embargo," the organization said in a statement.... A Harris campaign spokesman told the New York Times that the conversation was a "brief engagement" and "reaffirmed that her campaign...

And hates free speech, free markets, self-government, and world peace! Right now, the United Kingdom is barreling toward totalitarianism. After a second-generation immigrant reportedly murdered several children in a vicious stabbing attack last week, native Brits took to the streets to denounce their country’s criminally dangerous open borders. If these outraged citizens had been members of Antifa, the press would have compassionately framed their actions as “mostly peaceful protests” deserving of praise. Instead, because the public’s fury is directed toward one of globalism’s sacred cows — mass migration — angry parents have been condemned for fomenting “violent riots.” Protecting children...

US Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris met with two Arab Americans leading the Uncommitted National Movement, who asked her to consider an arms embargo on Israel, at a campaign stop in Michigan, the New York Times reported. Just before her rally, Harris met with Abbas Alawieh and Layla Elabed, who, according to the report, "wanted to support her but... wanted her to consider an arms embargo." In response, Harris indicated she was "open to it" and introduced the two community leaders to her staff. In addition to the arms embargo, the uncommitted organizers also asked for a convention...

I have been noticing a recurring movement by anti-gun extremists, who now appear to be trying to convince the public that Americans owning firearms is a relatively new concept. The goal seems to be an attempt to reimagine our nation’s longstanding history of large segments of law-abiding citizens embracing the Second Amendment by choosing to own firearms. That’s simply ridiculous. Americans have always owned guns, even before they were officially Americans. The British subjects who lived on this continent back in the 18th century eventually used their guns to help expel British soldiers and establish what would become the...

If these guys were a rose bush with so many thorns and so few flowers, you’d burn it! The Fed can easily be made to work but nobody apparently wants it to, or we’d change it. This rose bush puts out flowers that only stink and wither, but it has thorns the size of your fingers that cling to your pockets and tear at your flesh. We have three articles that were prominent in my news searches today that lay out just how miserably (for all of us) the Fed is failing at its actual mission. The first one by...
