Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty Father,
Hallowed Be Your Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Our Emmanuel,
God With Us!
Thank You, LORD,
For For being With us at all times.
Thank You for Loving Us
LONG before we learn to love You!
Bring to us the Light of Your Countenance,
Open Our Eyes to Your Presence
Open Our Ears to Your Word.
Engrave Your Law deeply in our hearts
Just as You have engraved us on the Palms of Your Hands.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Psalm 6
To the leader: with stringed instruments; according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.
1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger,
or discipline me in your wrath.
2 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are shaking with terror.
3 My soul also is struck with terror,
while you, O Lord—how long?
4 Turn, O Lord, save my life;
deliver me for the sake of your steadfast love.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who can give you praise?
6 I am weary with my moaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
7 My eyes waste away because of grief;
they grow weak because of all my foes.
8 Depart from me, all you workers of evil,
for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my supplication;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
10 All my enemies shall be ashamed and struck with terror;
they shall turn back, and in a moment be put to shame.

Just this morning, when looking up material for today's Meditation, I came across this article I wrote here on this Thread back in 2017:
...There is, however, always a REMNANT. As a former Quilter, I can tell you all about Remnants!
As you know, fabric comes on big rolls or bolts, and patterns call for certain amounts (a six 16 dress would probably take four yards), and a seamstress would only want as much as she needs. So the store clerk will cut off the required amount and put the bolt back on the shelf. Soon, after many cuttings, there is a shred of cloth left on the bolt that isn't enough for any project, so it is pulled off the bolt, measured, priced, and thrown into the bargain bin labeled "REMNANTS". Pretty soon the bargain Bin gets filled up, and the prices goes down again. And Again. They are effectively WORTHLESS.
Then the Quilter comes in. She gathers up as many Remnants as she can and pays the price for them. It seems almost sinful that she would have to pay for something that is going to get thrown out anyway, but she does.
Then the work begins. trimming, designing, cutting off the frayed edges, taking a common thread and joining it all together to produce something really Beautiful, Useful, and Artistic, all at the same time.
The word "Remnant" appears often in the Bible, but, in this context, a "remnant" is a group of people who have survived a disaster. This could be a small group of refugees from a war zone, a few faithful followers of a conquered religion, or even just a few people who cling to their own customs when everything around them has changed. In Eschatological Terms, "The Remnant" are the persecuted Christians who refuse The Mark of the Beast.
In 721BC, Assyria conquered Northern Israel. Most of the Jews were taken captive, but a tiny remnant remained. Assyria replaced the Jews they carried off with other prisoners from other regions. The "remnant" of Jews intermarried with these foreigners and became known as The Samaritans. They kept their Faith, but just what was written in the Torah. Some veered off into other religions because of assimilation with the newcomers.
In 586BC, Jerusalem fell to the Babylonians, and the Temple was destroyed. Once again, the Jews went into exile, and the Calamity is recognized every year by Religious Jews on the Ninth Day of Av (Next Monday). The Trauma of the Babylonian Exile can't be overstated. And yet, there were those Samaritans, STILL living in the Promised Land.
When the Jews returned to rebuild their Temple 70 years later,(See Ezra and Nehemiah) they had more Chronicles and Prophecies to augment the Torah (This is the part of the Bible called "The Prophets". When Jesus spoke of "The Law and the Prophets, He meant The Whole Bible.)They also had what was called "The Oral Law", which the Samaritans rejected. Is it any wonder the Samaritans were despised?
Yet, Jesus talked a lot about Samaritans, and often made them the "hero" of His Parables. The Beloved Story of "The Good Samaritan" shows a Samaritan having compassion on a crime victim, when other members of the Religious Community passed him by.
The context of Today's Name (The Christ) shows Jesus and His Disciples passing through Samaria at noontime. The well would normally be deserted at high noon, due to the heat, but here is a woman coming to the well. She possibly wanted to draw water during a time when she wouldn't have to deal with anybody, and yet, here is a Man, a Jew, alone at the well. To make matters worse, the man engages her in a Theological Discussion! Then, He reveals that He knows that she is a serial adulteress.
I get a feeling that she didn't really want to get into a conversation with this Man, but she is drawn into it. Finally, she thinks she is going to put a lid on the whole thing by saying that "When the Messiah comes, He'll answer all our questions!"
The man answers in the most shocking and unexpected manner:
"I Am He."
The Name "Christ" is Greek for "Anointed One", and refers to the Anointing of Kings and Priests with Oil to ordain them to their position and ministry. The Hebrew word Messiah means the same thing.
Recent DNA testing of Samaritans show them to be more Jew than Gentile, which is remarkable, since so much time has passed. But then, a lot of time had passed between the Captivity, Exile, and Return of the Jews to the time of Jesus, and here this Samaritan Woman was, talking about The Messiah!
"Christ" was not the Family Name of Jesus of Nazareth. It is, rather, a Title, a Declaration, and a Statement of Faith. He IS the Messiah, The Anointed One, The King of Kings, and the Great High Priest.
This concludes the names of Jesus. Tomorrow we will explore the Names of The Holy Spirit. For that, we will be going back to Page One in your Bible.

I love the details and insight on the Samaritan woman encounter. I bet she was floored when she heard “I am he.”
