Hunter Biden is desperately trying to throw out his criminal gun conviction charges and a separate tax evasion case by claiming the person prosecuting him was unlawfully appointed. The younger Biden's lawyers referenced a federal judge's decision Monday dismissing charges against Donald Trump for illegally holding onto classified documents after office. In that decision, Florida District Judge Aileen Cannon found the appointment of Jack Smith, the special counsel in the classified documents case, violated the Constitution because he was not authorized by Congress to pursue the charges. The legal maneuver comes after the Supreme Court's decision weeks ago to grant...

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher stated that he “can’t argue” with claims that President Joe Biden is sticking around despite everyone but him and First Lady Jill Biden knowing that he can’t win the 2024 election because Jill Biden wants to be able to hold on to power. After comedian Larry Wilmore stated that former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s speech at this week’s Republican National Convention was one where her head was saying the opposite of what her mouth was saying, particularly when she was urging people to vote for 2024 Republican presidential candidate former...

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk posted X earlier Friday that CrowdStrike (NASDAQ:CRWD) has been “deleted from all our systems, so no rollouts at all.” However, according to several sources cited by Business Insider, Tesla (TSLA) sent some of its employees working the night shift at its Austin, Texas and Sparks, Nevada factories home early after the outage resulted in error messages on some of the facilities' machinery. The carmaker sent its staff a notice early Friday morning that its systems had been impacted by a "Windows Host Outage" across its IT platform. A glitch caused by an update...

Joe Biden’s advisers believe the United States president does not want to bow out of the November election before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s trip to Washington this week, as Biden is unwilling to give Netanyahu “the satisfaction” given the two leaders’ tensions over the war in Gaza, The New York Times reported on Friday. The report, citing several unnamed people close to Biden, came after the Axios news site on Friday cited top Democrats as saying Biden had resigned himself to the pressure on him to quit, and could bow out as soon as this weekend. But advisers say that...

CHICAGO — From 1972 to 1978, ‘The Bob Newhart Show,’ featuring Bob and Emily Hartley, put Chicago in the spotlight. Featured in the open was the Edgewater-area condominium at Sheridan and Thorndale, where the couple lived. “Every week, the opening credit sequence showed Bob walking up to this building and I think it would have to qualify as one of the most overexposed buildings in Chicago,” said John Holden, president of the Edgewater Historical Society.

Slightly Retrospective-The Inevitable Result of the Present Campaign-Incidents and Scenes Further North. From Our Special Correspondent. BERMUDA HUNDRED, Va., Friday Evening, July 15, 1864. The date of my letter is suggestive. It reminds me most vividly of the excitement and exhilaration in which I participated on the 15th of June just four weeks ago to-night when those marvelously strong works in front of Petersburgh were wrenched from the rebels, and seized by the Union army with a determined and unrelenting grip, which must in time strangle the rebellion, or, at least, make the evacuation of Richmond a necessity. These are...

Some time around 2021, American corporate executives discovered greed. Before that time, they kept prices low out of the goodness of their hearts, but three years ago — for mysterious reasons — they suddenly, en masse, decided to send prices through the roof. At least that’s the story Sen. Bob Casey wants you to believe. It wasn’t the reckless deficit spending from the federal government, flooding the nation with cheap money while interest rates were already zero. No, it was that newfound greed by shadowy evil-doers that made your grocery bill go up and your wages fail to keep up.

Daily Readings from the USCCBThe Pharisees went out and took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. When Jesus realized this, he withdrew from that place. Many people followed him, and he cured them all, but he warned them not to make him known. Matthew 12:14–16This passage goes on to say that Jesus withdrew to a more deserted place to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah the Prophet (Isaiah 42:1–4). That prophecy is the first of what is referred to as “The Songs of the Suffering Servant.” In these songs or poems of Isaiah, the Messiah is presented to us...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — With many puzzling questions still remaining unanswered in the wake of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania campaign rally last week, the United States Secret Service announced that it was working tirelessly to investigate anyone who criticized its incompetence. Washington lawmakers, media pundits, and the general public alike all raised red flags over inconsistencies and apparent failures of the Secret Service in the close call Trump experienced, leading the government agency to release an official statement that it was doing everything within its power to track down anyone who would dare to...

Preparations are underway for a new migrant caravan to depart southern Mexico this weekend. While the caravan targets Mexico City, the ultimate goal of the migrants taking part is the U.S. border, where most are expected to ask for asylum or some other kind of protected status. Intelligence information provided to Breitbart Texas by high-level sources with Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM) revealed that the caravan is expected to start at 6 a.m. on Sunday on the banks of the Suchiate River in Chiapas. That river is Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala.

Democrats are discussing a possible 'loophole' that can be used to boot Biden out of the presidential race of he refuses to drop out. Delegates at the Democratic National Convention are toying with the options they face if, by the time of the August convention, Biden has not yet stepped aside or dropped out of the race entirely. Politicians are considering a 'good-conscience loophole' that would enable them to vote for a new candidate. DNC delegate and political scientist Elaine Kamarck spoke with fellow delegates on Friday morning on a zoom call. She briefed them on the 'loophole' - which...

Edna Wales, a Republican delegate from Florida, does not support abortion. As a Roman Catholic, the procedure goes against her moral values. But her policy position, she told the BBC at a street fair at the Republican National Convention, was that it should be left to the states. “I truly feel that,” she said. Given that outlawing abortion nationwide has been an animating issue for religious Republicans for decades, it was a surprising position to hear at this weeklong gathering. Yet Ms Wales’ stance is the same one that Donald Trump, the party’s nominee for president, now espouses. Trump’s supporters...
