Happy Friday friends! Thanks again to all of you that were able to join us for our livestream on Tuesday. If you weren't able to join us, we announced the big news about our upcoming performances at Dollywood and we debuted our first original song! This was a song Colt wrote back in 2009 with his then drummer and my Uncle Josh. They recorded this song along with a full-length original album together. Hillary Clinton won’t side with Joe Biden in his bid for the 2024 presidential race. According to sources from Page Six, the former secretary of state of the United States humorously replied to tough questions posed to her by “anxious and irate” Democrats with influence at a gathering at the home of venture capital executive Jacqueline Novogratz. The source noted Clinton joked about how one can relate to situations where “you have to take the keys away from older parents,” implying that Biden can’t be forced out and that “only people who could persuade Biden (to exit) are the people...

[Catholic Caucus] The Issue with Fiducia SupplicansA few weeks after the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith promulgated Fiducia supplicans,[1] it published a "[p]ress release concerning the reception" of the document.[2] The issue in the dicastery’s view was thus the document’s reception, which had not been universally favorable.[3] The dicastery urged a "full and calm reading of the Declaration so as to better understand its meaning and purpose," thereby suggesting its critics lacked reading comprehension and emotional control. But the issue with the document is not extrinsic. The issue is intrinsic, specifically an apparent reliance on process theology. Process...

An Australian who travelled around the country asking other Aussies if they would fight to defend the nation has received some surprisingly mixed answers. Surfer and journalist Fred Pawle took his camera and mic to locations including the NSW Central Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Byron Bay, the Gold Coast and Brisbane in recent weeks posing the question to people on the street. 'My initial motivation was whether you would be able to judge the responses based on where you live, so which areas would be more or less likely to defend the country,' Mr Pawle told Daily Mail Australia. He said...

The US pledges to support Panama in deportation flights for illegal immigrants on their way to the US border.. DARIEN GAP, Panama—Thousands of migrants streamed into Panama through the treacherous jungle of the Darién Gap last week, with many fearing that the route will be shut down, thereby dashing their hopes of reaching the United States. The influx of migrants intent on crossing the U.S. southwest border unlawfully came as Panama’s new president, Raúl Mulino, took steps to stop the flow through the Darién Gap. On July 1, the same day that he took office, Mr. Mulino forged a deal...

Avoiding bright light at night could be a simple way to reduce your risk of diabetes, a study shows. The study reveals the compelling relationship between exposure to light and the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. "We found that exposure to brighter light at night was associated with a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes," says Associate Professor Andrew Phillips. In the large modeling study, the research team investigated whether personal light exposure patterns predicted the risk of diabetes using data from approximately 85,000 people and around 13 million hours of light sensor data. The participants—who did not...

For individuals with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD), angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEi) or angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) treatment is associated with a reduced risk for kidney failure with replacement therapy (KFRT) but not death. Elaine Ku, M.D. and colleagues examined the association of ACEi or ARB treatment initiation with rates of KFRT and death using data from completed randomized controlled trials from 1946 through Dec 31, 2023. Data were included for 1,739 participants from 18 trials, and of these patients, 35.9 and 7.6 percent developed KFRT and died, respectively, during a median follow-up of 34 months. The researchers found that the...

An obvious truth hidden in plain sight is suddenly common knowledge: At 81, Joe Biden is old — and losing it. Apparently we needed an epically disastrous debate performance, an op-ed from George Clooney and Biden mixing up Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with Putin, along with referring to Donald Trump as his Vice President at the NATO summit yesterday, for permission to believe our own eyes. I’ve long had concerns about the president’s fitness to run the country, but the debate at the end of June was even worse than I expected. Of course, his 78-year-old opponent is no spring...
