In one of the biggest shocks in cricket history, the USA defeated Pakistan in the T20 Cricket World Cup in Dallas, Texas. The co-hosts, who have never played in the T20 World Cup before, have now won their first two games in a competition involving a shorter format of cricket in which each side has one innings of up to 20 overs (six balls). The U.S. now stand a strong chance of qualifying for the Super 8 round (another round-robin stage before the semi-finals). The scores were level after 20 overs, meaning the game was decided by a super over...

Republicans are pushing back against federal funds being used to promote get-out-the-vote (GOTV) activities among college students as Democrat-led states are taking advantage of the new Federal Work-Study (FWS) program focused on voter registration efforts. Secretaries of state from Democratic-run states pushed the Biden administration for federal funds to be used in college GOTV activities, and Republicans are now fighting back against the funding in Congress and across GOP-led states.

You could be forgiven for remaining skeptical about whether it will ever be built, but the audacious bid to build the USA's new tallest skyscraper in Oklahoma City reached a major milestone this week. Local officials have now finally met and given it their approval. Legends Tower was originally conceived as a proposal for the USA's second-tallest skyscraper. Following a positive reception, its designers and developers updated their plans to make it the overall tallest skyscraper in the country. Assuming all goes to plan, the development will be located onthe site of a parking lot near a railroad track and...

Paulette Harlow, age 75, was sentenced in a Washington, D.C. federal court on the afternoon of May 31 in relation to her participation in an October 2020 rescue action at the Washington Surgi-Clinic abortion facility, run by notorious abortionist Cesare Santangelo. Unlike her co-defendants — Lauren Handy, John Hinshaw, William Goodman, Jonathan Darnel, Herb Geraghty, Jean Marshall, Joan Bell, and Heather Idoni — who were immediately incarcerated following their convictions, Harlow has been on house arrest due to ill health following her November 2023 conviction of so-called “conspiracy against rights” and FACE Act violations. In spite of Harlow’s poor health,...

Tennessee governor Bill Lee signed a bill Tuesday making it illegal for non-parental adults to transport minors to another state for abortion without the knowledge or permission of the minor’s parents. HB 1895 specifies that anyone who “intentionally recruits, harbors, or transports” a minor to another state for an abortion without parental consent will be subject to a Class A misdemeanor, which comes with mandatory jail time of nearly a year. Currently, nearly all preborn children in the state are protected from abortion. Abortion proponents have spoken out with claims that the bill — which is in place to protect...

John Mannion, a New York state senator, is currently running for congressional office. And in a new campaign ad, he made an incredible claim about his mother allegedly being forced to carry a stillborn baby for two months prior to Roe v. Wade. In the ad, titled “Mother,” Mannion spoke about a tragic stillbirth his mother experienced in the 1960s. “Before she passed away, my mother shared her most painful memory,” Mannion said in the ad. “See, before I was born, she lost her pregnancy at seven months. That was before Roe v. Wade. So, she was forced to carry...

CV NEWS FEED // Many residents of a southeast Kansas city have been left “shocked and saddened” after learning there is legally nothing they can do to stop a Planned Parenthood clinic from opening in their area. According to an email from the Kansas Conference of Catholic Bishops, over 350 residents of areas around Pittsburg, Kansas from different religious denominations recently met to discuss the abortion clinic, which is set to open this fall. Chuck Weber, executive director of the Kansas Catholic Conference, said that “legally speaking, there is not much that can be done” in terms of stopping the...

Have you heard the news? President Senile Kid-Sniffer issued an executive order on the border, action meant to seal the border when the number of illegal aliens (that’s what they are, not “migrants,” so stop using the language of the left) reaches an arbitrary total. Of course, what counts in that total is completely at the discretion of the President, thereby making it meaningless. But that’s the point, and other liberals are playing their role in this kabuki theater perfectly. You have to be a special kind of stupid to think Joe Biden, or any Democrat for that matter, would...

Former President Donald Trump’s conviction just might have been the missing key in his securing the 2024 election against President Joe Biden. According to a new Quinnipiac University Georgia poll, Trump holds an advantage over Biden (49 - 44 percent) in a head-to-head matchup in the crucial battleground state. Despite the unprecedented move, the conviction against Trump seems to working in his favor— a stark contrast from what the Democratic Party was hoping for when bringing politically motivated charges against him. The survey also revealed that in a six-way hypothetical race that includes other candidates, Trump still leads with 43...

Today I received messages from two separate friends that said essentially the same thing: “Kaeley, check out this post from my Christian relative. He’s using his ministry platform to endorse LGBTQ ideology, and he’s saying God approves of it. How can he read the Bible and come to these conclusions? How can he justify leading people astray this way?” And of course, the short answer is that he can’t. Christianity is completely and utterly incompatible with this ideology, which basically says, “God, I don’t care what you say is best for me or what rules you’ve issued to assure my...

A short course of immunotherapy was found to be highly effective in a subset of patients with colon cancer. The treatment, which consisted of two cycles of immunotherapy prior to surgery, was effective in almost all patients. In two-thirds of patients, there were no longer any live tumor cells at the time of surgery. The patients' immune systems had cleaned up the cancer cells. These discoveries were made as part of the NICHE-2 trial. Patients with colon cancer with a specific genetic makeup, known as mismatch-repair deficient (dMMR) or microsatellite instable (MSI), were treated with one cycle of ipilimumab and...

There is something of a subculture on YouTube of armchair analysts and commentators, WDW Pro, Valliant Renegade, and ClownfishTV, to name just three (beyond traditional financial websites like CNBC and Seeking Alpha), who track every cultural, corporate, programming, and financial move of The Walt Disney Company, previously one of America’s most iconic and trusted companies. Note: I used the past tense in describing The Walt Disney Company. It is no longer one of America’s most trusted brands, and it’s about to lose its iconic status. How did this happen? On May 7, 2024, in the wake of its successful battle to keep...

Careful what you wish for, Democrats. Democrats salivated for the opportunity to campaign on former President Trump's criminal convictions. He's a convicted felon. Guess what is happening? Trump is receiving more support than ever. This was pretty easy to predict for anyone paying attention. In this presidential election year, the more Donald Trump is indicted, the more support he receives in the polls. It turns out that Americans don't like lawfare being used against a former president and leading presidential candidate in a presidential election year. Voters don't like what they are seeing from Democrats. Democrat lawyers and prosecutors are...

For men with benign prostate hyperplasia, aquablation provides temporary benefits for ejaculation and continence at three months, while holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) has superior operation time, safety profile, and volumetric results, according to a study published online. Jakob Michaelis and colleagues compared the outcomes of aquablation (16 patients) and HoLEP (24 patients) among men with benign prostate hyperplasia. The researchers found that HoLEP was associated with shorter operation time (59.5 versus 87.2 minutes) and led to better prostate volume reduction over all timepoints. Aquablation's results were better regarding ejaculatory and continence function at three months. However, there...

This announcement out of Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin's office yesterday is pretty cool news. In 2021, under the benevolent eye of uber-prog Democratic black-face aficionado Gov Ralph Northam, the completely Democratic-held VA legislature decided to commit the state to follow the California emission standards, which, as everyone knows, are tougher than the federal ones. Progs of a feather flock together. In 2022, doubling down on their infinite wisdom, VA lawmakers saw fit to impose what's known as CA's Advanced Clean Car II regulations on their fellow Virginians. In essence, what that was going to do was impose a 100% EV...

According to preliminary data from a multi-institution Phase III trial led by researchers, intensity modulated proton therapy (IMPT) achieved similar clinical outcomes and offered significant patient benefits when compared to traditional intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) as part of chemoradiation treatment for patients with oropharyngeal (head and neck) cancer. With a median follow-up of three years, the progression-free survival (PFS) rate was 83% and 83.5% for IMPT and IMRT, respectively, and IMPT was statistically non-inferior to IMRT. There was a significant reduction of malnutrition with IMPT, with 24% of patients sustaining their nutrition with less than 5% weight loss during...
