"The blameless in their walk are [God's] delight" (Prov. 11:20). Your love for God brings Him joy. Our focus so far this month has been on the joy we experience in knowing and serving Christ. Before we turn our attention to the theme of godliness, I want you to consider two additional aspects of joy: the joy of pleasing God, and how to lose your joy. Pleasing God is our topic for today. Perhaps you haven't given much thought to how you can bring joy to God, but Scripture mentions several ways. Luke 15:7, for example, says, "There will be...

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (2/16/24)[Prayer]The Names and Titles of God (YHVH)Exodus 33 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.2 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight,...

My neighborhood is changing. In just the six years that we have lived in our suburb after fleeing St. Louis, Missouri for a more conservative area that supports our conservative values, towering apartment buildings are being built everywhere. There have been dozens of new car washes, chain restaurants, and big businesses put in or approved. During 2020, panhandlers started appearing in the area. This has grown so common that the local government had to recently pass a bill outlawing it for the safety of pedestrians and drivers because the panhandlers were obstructing traffic. While conservative Americans have continuously expressed outrage...

If Democrats were previously hoping to replay the 2020 “basement” strategy to get President Biden reelected this year, that hope is gone. It vanished with the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on Biden’s criminal mishandling of highly classified documents. To be sure, the immediate, short-term consequences of Hur’s report are bad enough for Biden. The report officially concluded that Biden suffers from diminished mental capacity at least in the colloquial, if not strictly legal, sense. Hur pointed specifically to Biden’s diminished mental state as the reason for his decision not to prosecute. On top of that, the report...

Reporter Ben Munceford (Sidney Poitier) is aboard a U.S. Navy ship sailing near the Arctic Circle, on assignment to write a profile of Capt. Eric Finlander (Richard Widmark), a hardened anti-communist. Despite the concerns of Munceford, medical officer Chester Potter (Martin Balsam) and others on the ship, Finlander is shadowing a Soviet submarine on patrol in the same area, hoping to make it to surface. The cat-and-mouse game, however, turns deadly serious.

It began as a domestic disturbance that led to a string of alleged crimes resulting in extensive damage to multiple businesses downtown. A Colorado Springs man is now under arrest after a domestic altercation dramatically escalated, leading to a serious downtown car crash. Vladimir Putin's fierce rival and critic Alexei Navalny has died, according to the prison service. The Russian opposition leader, who was the most prominent and persistent domestic foe of President Vladimir Putin, had been serving a 19-year sentence on an extremism conviction. He had been incarcerated in central Russia’s Vladimir region, 140 miles east of Moscow. Navalny has been behind bars in Russia since January 2021, when he returned to Moscow after recuperating in Germany from nerve agent poisoning that he blamed on the Kremlin. Before his arrest, he campaigned against official corruption and organized major anti-Kremlin protests.

Tuberculosis (TB) cases are on the rise, fuelling fears England may see a resurgence of the Victorian-era illness. UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) figures show 4,850 people were struck by the bacterial infection, spread by coughing, in 2023 — marking a rise of almost 11 per cent on the previous year. This is despite 2022 being a bumper year for TB. It marked only the third time cases of the infection have increased nationally over the past decade.

Hundreds of Dade Phelan supporters and others gathered in the Gay and Bill Scott hangar at Jack Brooks Airport Thursday night for a campaign rally that featured former Governor Rick Perry, who’s endorsing Phelan and his leadership as Speaker of the House in the upcoming election. A number of officials throughout the District 21 tri-county area attended, including some from across party lines, like Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bartie. While the crowd was clearly there to show their support for Phelan and hear his comments on the upcoming race, the fierce ads from the opposition and other more personal attacks,...

Students tabling at a Catholic university in Washington, D.C., drew butts on their foreheads and invited people to join them in celebrating “A** Wednesday,” an allusion to the first day of Lent, which is known as “Ash Wednesday.” Georgetown University is considered one of the oldest Catholic and Jesuit schools in the nation. According to its webpage, the university provides “students with a world-class learning experience focused on educating the whole person through exposure to different faiths, cultures and beliefs.” On Wednesday, America First Policy Institute’s Chief Engagement Officer Ashley Hayek shared a photo on X of multiple Georgetown students...

The unholy trinity of Jesus-hating denominations recently colluded at Fort Hays State University, putting on a celebration of Ash Wednesday where glitter was mixed in with the ashes to celebrate, “center,” and foster inclusion within the LGBTQ community. The event was put on by Us4U, a faith-based service organization sponsored by the United Methodist Campus Ministry and supported by the Trinity Lutheran Church of Hays and St. John Lutheran Church of Russell. While protestants shouldn’t even be celebrating Ash Wednesday to begin with, this service was particularly garish, with anyone of any belief invited to participate, with Us4U advisor Cheryl...

JPMorgan Chase and institutional investors BlackRock and State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) on Thursday announced that they are quitting or, in the case of BlackRock, substantially scaling back involvement in a massive United Nations climate alliance formed to combat global warming through corporate sustainability agreements. In a statement, the New York-based JPMorgan Chase explained that it would exit the so-called Climate Action 100+ investor group because of the expansion of its in-house sustainability team and the establishment of its climate risk framework in recent years. BlackRock and State Street, which both manage trillions of dollars in assets, said the alliance's...

Migrants in Chicago are on edge as evictions from temporary shelters loom Maria Cinfuentes stood outside Chicago’s largest migrant shelter on a windy morning last week, rubbing her cold hands together and worrying about her future. She learned last week that her stay at the shelter, the only home she’s known since arriving in the U.S. from Venezuela in December, will come to an end next month. But she has no idea where she’ll go next. “I don’t have a job. My husband doesn’t have a job,” the 30-year-old mother of three told NBC News in Spanish. “I don’t know...
