Do you really think the bizarre angry-old-man cane waving performance of President Non Compos Mentis demonstrates his fitness for office? Because after that politically disastrous news conference in the White House is where we are now. Biden is no longer mentally fit to be commander-in-chief. He’s an empty husk. I told you he was a meat puppet years ago. Last week, on national television, he proved it. The world is on the edge of war. China is pushing us in the Pacific, Iran pushes us across the Middle East. Russia is taking Ukraine, despite our war party’s best effort to...

Donald Trump's suggestion the US would not protect Nato allies failing to spend enough on defence "undermines all of our security", the Western military alliance's chief has said. Jens Stoltenberg also suggested it put US and European troops at greater risk. The Republican said he had told allies he would "encourage" Russia to attack any Nato member that failed to meet the alliance's target of 2% of their GDP. Members of Nato commit to defend any nation in the bloc that gets attacked. President Joe Biden called Mr Trump's comments "appalling and dangerous", suggesting his predecessor intended to give Russian...

Washington is abuzz with fresh concerns about President Joe Biden’s fitness after a special counsel report released Thursday raised questions about his memory. But Democrats have rallied around Biden and despite the fantasies of some pundits and anxious Democrats, the president is almost certain to be the Democratic Party’s nominee as long as he wants. Both parties have moved away from the era when insiders in proverbial smoke-filled rooms could be kingmakers at the national conventions, and Biden has dominated every primary he’s competed in thus far. No prominent Democrats have called for Biden to step aside and there's no...

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who narrowly escaped impeachment last week, said Sunday that the Biden administration doesn't "bear responsibility for a broken system," demanding Congress enact legislation to mitigate what has become an illegal migration crisis during this election year. "No doubt there is gridlock in Congress. But do you bear responsibility for what is happening at the border with the president himself? It's called a crisis," NBC host Kristen Welker asked during an interview with Mayorkas on "Meet the Press." "It certainly is a crisis. And we don't bear responsibility for a broken system. And we're doing a...

This has always been a different type of sermon. Its not a bible sermon, but its a sermon about love,A true story about a couple I was proud to know.I call it, Burnt Toast. Many years ago there was an elderly couple in a church I preached at that had been married over 65 years. He was dying of cancer and she cared for him at home. She would call me if she needed to run an errand and I would sit with him as she didn't want to leave him by himself. She called me and asked if I could come by...

Vladimir Putin wanted Russia to join Nato but did not want his country to have to go through the usual application process and stand in line “with a lot of countries that don’t matter”, according to a former secretary general of the transatlantic alliance. George Robertson, a former Labour defence secretary who led Nato between 1999 and 2003, said Putin made it clear at their first meeting that he wanted Russia to be part of western Europe. “They wanted to be part of that secure, stable prosperous west that Russia was out of at the time,” he said. The Labour...

An Oregon resident has been infected with the state’s first case of bubonic plague since 2015, health officials said last week. The resident was likely infected with plague by their symptomatic pet cat, Deschutes County Health Services said in a news release on Wednesday. "All close contacts of the resident and their pet have been contacted and provided medication to prevent illness," Dr. Richard Fawcett, the Deschutes County health officer, said in the release without identifying the infected resident. Officials said there was little risk to the community since the case was identified and treated in the earlier stages of...

Mayor Eric Adams said he’d consider property tax breaks for middle-class co-op and condo owners who have to pay for pricey building upgrades when a new “green” mandate icks in. Hizzoner said he was open to tax abatements as anxious residents brace for the costs of Local Law 97, which covers 800,000 co-op and condo apartments. “My second apartment was a co-op,” Adams said during testimoney in Albany on the state budget last week.

A young woman I know broke it off with a young man after three dates but declared that it was a pretty successful relationship anyway. "He showed me a couple of great Amazon Prime series," she told me. "And he turned me on to Derry Girls." Derry Girls, for the record, is a British comedy set in Northern Ireland in the 1990s and it’s hilarious. But there are more than 600 scripted television series currently on the constellation of streaming services competing for your credit card number, so if you don’t go on a dedicated search for that specific title,...

[Catholic/Orthodox Caucus] Francis speaks to the Liturgy Dicastery about liturgical reform - by Michael CharlierThis week, the Roman liturgical authority held its annual plenary assembly, which was held under the theme "Liturgical formation from Sacrosanctum Concilium to Desiderio desideravi". Concrete decisions have not yet been made public. But we have learned of a speech that Francis gave to the participants on Thursday, February 8, which provides some insight into the pontiff's understanding of the liturgy. The source of all the reports is an article written by CNA's Roman correspondent Matthew Santucci, from which we also take our quotes from the...

~For the last month, even as his trial has chuntered along in America's diseased and depraved capital city, Mark has maintained Sundays as an oasis. So he has continued to celebrate, as he has done for almost two decades at this time each week, the great enduring love songs of the last century - because the fundamental things apply even as the decades roll by in the dank septic tank of DC "justice". So, on this Sunday before St Valentine's Day, here is the all-time great Valentine love song - as featured on one of Mark's Serenade Radio shows, here...

Two off-duty law enforcement officers who were at the church when shots were fired about 1:50 p.m. opened fire, and the woman was killed, Finner said. The child was in critical condition, and a man, who is in his 50s, was being treated for an injury to his leg, Houston...

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) hit the GOP over the tanked bipartisan Senate border bill on Sunday, claiming House Republicans decided to kill the bill in order to help former President Trump win the 2024 election. The sweeping border security and asylum overhaul bill initially had strong bipartisan support in the Senate last week, but it fell apart after Trump and the House GOP went against it. Murphy said in a CBS “Face the Nation” interview that Republicans didn’t want to hand Biden a win by passing it.

The latest dependability study results from J.D. Power make for grim reading if you’re in the market for a new car. The longer-term reliability of two thirds of all brands has decreased, and industry-wide, drivers are experiencing 190 problems per 100 vehicles. That’s 4 more problems per 100 vehicles than the study found 12 months ago. Worse still, the rate at which problems present themselves has increased. A year ago, 12 percent of people experienced an issue in the first 90 days to three years of ownership. Now, the rate is up to 17 percent. It should be noted here...

President Joe Biden warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a 45-minute telephone call Sunday not to attack Hamas’s last stronghold in Rafah without a credible plan to evacuate the roughly one million Palestinian civilians there. A White House readout of the call said: President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. spoke this morning with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel. The President reaffirmed our shared goal to see Hamas defeated and to ensure the long-term security of Israel and its people. The President and the Prime Minister discussed ongoing efforts to secure the release of all remaining hostages held by Hamas....

A former Dutch prime minister and his wife have died hand in hand in a rare double euthanasia.
