An aircraft owned by "RHS Consulting" (a cloud seeding company) left KFAT (Fresno/Yosemite Intl. Airport) this AM for presumably some cloud seeding over the Sierra Nevada. Wonder who is footing the bill? Ag interests? The state? Fill those reservoirs! ELBURN, Ill. (WLS) -- With more than seven buses carrying migrants expected to arrive in Chicago Friday, Mayor Brandon Johnson joined other mayors to emphasize that cities are reaching a breaking point. "Without a coordinated effort, this is going to crush local economies because there is a financial responsibility we have all taken on," he said. Johnson told city council members the cost of migrant support is approaching $300 million this year. He plans to shift $95 million in federal COVID relief funds to cover some of the costs. "At least that prevents us from having to dip into the...

Daily Readings from the USCCBThere was a prophetess, Anna…She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer. And coming forward at that very time, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting the redemption of Jerusalem. Luke 2:36–38We all have a unique and sacred calling given to us from God. Each one of us is called to fulfill that calling with generosity and wholehearted commitment. As the famous prayer of Saint John Henry Newman puts it: God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has...

“Like many people, I assumed every impeachment, every indictment, every criminal count would be the end of him.” — Robert B. Reich, celebrated Trump hunter, career summation. And just like that — snap ! — the news about the Colorado Supreme Court’s droll action against candidate DJ Trump vanished from the front page (or top screens) of The New York Times. Do you know why? I’ll tell you: Because the political Left has finally managed to embarrass itself with a “lawfare” gambit so nakedly fatuous that it exposes the faction’s drive to destroy the election process, and with it our...

Why is everyone on the Left acting so squirrelly? As every parent knows: you figure out which child broke mom’s favorite vase by how the kids behave, not what they say. Despite their protestations to the contrary, aren’t the Dems behaving as if they’re guilty? Don’t misunderstand -- I don’t for one nanosecond believe that we will be hearing any cell doors slamming on our leftist army of miscreants. However, said miscreants are clearly acting as if their future is considerably less bright than it seemed in 2021. Hunter Biden has defied a congressional subpoena, because apparently committing a felony...

Sam Bankman-Fried, who was convicted last month of stealing from customers of his now-bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange, will not face a second trial on separate charges in the case, including campaign finance violations. In a letter filed on Friday night in federal court in Manhattan, prosecutors said the 'strong public interest' in a prompt resolution of their case against the 31-year-old former billionaire outweighed the benefits of a second trial. Prosecutors said that interest 'weighs particularly heavily here,' given that Bankman-Fried's scheduled March 28 sentencing will likely include orders of forfeiture and restitution for victims of his crimes.

A US citizen from New Jersey is accused of attempting to join the al Shabaab terrorist group and tweeting threats to bomb America in support of Hamas after its October 7 attack on Israel. Karrem Nasr, 23, was arrested December 14 after flying to Nairobi, Kenya, where prosecutors say he was planning to meet with al Shabaab members before traveling to train in Somalia, where the terror group is based. Prosecutors say Nasr, using the X moniker 'Egyptian Muslim', last month posted that 'Jihad on your home turf' was 'coming soon to a US location near you,' posting airplane, bomb,...

Conservatives online torched Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a Republican, over his veto of a state bill to protect women's sports. The bill, the Save Adolescents from Experimentation (SAFE) Act, passed the GOP-controlled state legislature but was vetoed by DeWine on Friday. The SAFE Act would have barred sex change treatments for minors while blocking transgender women and girls from participating in female sports leagues in Ohio.

Both the Dutch military and society as a whole need to brace themselves for the possibility of a war with Russia, said Lieutenant-General Martin Wijnen, the departing Commander of the Royal Netherlands Army. "Our society should be preparing themselves for this," he told the Telegraaf in an interview published on Thursday. Wijnen said that the Netherlands should follow the examples set by countries like Sweden, Finland, the Baltic nations. Those countries which border Russia, or are close to it, are better prepared for the outbreak of war. "The Netherlands needs to learn that the entire society needs to be prepared...

A 12-year-old child has been charged with reckless endangerment after throwing a bottle of alcohol from the 32nd floor of a New York City hotel skyscraper. A woman was hurt as the bottle hurtled to the ground, hitting her on the head before smashing into pieces by the Intercontinental Times Square. The incident initially caused panic and saw West 44th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenue shut down for a brief time just before 5pm on Friday evening, after those on the street below believed the noise to have been the sound of gunshots. The culprits also included an 11-year-old...

Ranchers say they will 'shoot on sight' if endangered wolves from Colorado cross state lines into Wyoming. Last week Colorado Parks and Wildlife released five gray wolves onto public land in Grand County as a part of the state's voter-mandated reintroduction plan. The predators consisted of two juvenile females, two males and one adult male and are classed as endangered - but the animals lose their 'protected' status as soon as they end up in the state of Wyoming where they are classed as predators. There is every likelihood the wolves may end up in Wyoming given that the canines...

What does Paul mean by belly here? The stomach or appetite, as some translations read, represents our instinctual and base-level desires, our hungers, cravings, and lusts. For the ancients, the belly was the most animalistic part of all humans, and we tend to agree with them, even is subconsciously. After all, how often do you have a gut-feeling about something? Do you ever question whether or not you should just go with your gut? Have you ever felt the fluttering in your gut while in the throes of infatuation? Our gut is our primal nature, working beyond the confines of...

...few have described wokeism as the cruel creed that it is.Wokeism’s natural logic is to destroy the lives of people of both genders, of all races, and—if need be—those of every age, all to leverage an otherwise unworkable ideological agenda. It is nihilist and destroys everything it touches. It tears apart foes and friends alike, whether by fueling media-driven hatred of Donald Trump or faux-deification of the disaster that is now Joe Biden.

Texas has a new law that allows for the prosecution and deportation of migrants illegally entering the US from Mexico. The Department of Justice (DOJ) warned Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Tx) that it will sue if he tries to enforce this law. Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Brian Boynton rejected Abbott's contention that he is filling a vacuum left by the DOJ's refusal to enforce the federal law against this illegal entry into the country, saying "immigration is a federal issue. We will decide whether or not to enforce our law. Right now, it is the Administration's policy to allow anyone...
