Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) gave his highly coveted endorsement to Lateefah Simon, who’s running for California's 12th Congressional District in 2024. Newsom and Simon have collaborated closely in the past, representing District 7 on Bay Area Rapid Transit's board of directors since 2016, where Newsom’s political roots lie. “Lateefah is a visionary," Newsom said in a statement to Politico. "But more than a visionary, she is a proven leader who effects the kind of change that makes her vision a reality.” “From working closely with Lateefah and watching her deliver real, progressive change in her community, I have come to...

The Hamptons 'middle class,' comprised of New Yorkers with somewhat modest million-dollar second homes out East, have been dropping their asking prices by more than 25 percent in a bid to sell their homes. Because of growing interest rates and the post-pandemic need to be in the city more often, many middling Hamptons staycationers, who own properties up to $5million, are attempting to sell their homes at reduced prices. In some cases, owners have cut their asking prices by hundreds of thousands of dollars in Sag Harbor and Amagansett. One agent told the NYPost that prices for homes on the...

While “Christian revival” was successful due to the expulsion of religion from governance, in Islam it is exactly the opposite -- Islam was successful in its first 1,200 years precisely due to the dominance of religion in government and society. Islam experienced decline only with the advent into the Islamic world of Western political systems, European nationalism, and secularism in the last 300 years.

A judge has overturned the results of the Democrat primary for the mayoral race in Bridgeport, Connecticut, after viewing compelling evidence of voter fraud. His ruling creates chaos for the general election that is scheduled to take place in just a few days. On September 12, incumbent Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim narrowly edged out challenger John Gomes by a mere 251-vote margin in the Democrat primary. Primary election day ballots favored Gomes, but after absentee ballots were tallied later that evening, Ganim prevailed over Gomes, 4,212 to 3,961. Within days, the Gomes camp cried foul, posting a video to Facebook...

An explicit recruitment advert targeting women for the Ukrainian Army is Russian propaganda and not an official video, Kyiv have said in a statement. A short video linking to the recruitment website for the Armed Forces of Ukraine showing by turns a woman in lingerie, a woman caring for a small child, and a woman preparing for battle has been flagged by an official statement from the Ukrainian government as a fake. Kyiv’s government news outlet Ukrinform picks apart the video, noting it is stitched together from generic stock clips found elsewhere on the internet, and that the video has...

Pieter Bruegel the Elder was a sixteenth-century star in the Dutch and Flemish Renaissance. He’s most often associated with paintings of peasants and other common people doing everyday things: hunting in the snow, ice-skating, dancing at a wedding, eating, sleeping, and playing children’s games. In one painting, a peasant is doing what peasants have been doing for over ten thousand years. He is plowing. The earth rises up in furrows. The horse trudges forward. The plowman keeps his gaze directed at the ground beneath his feet. On a terrace beneath the plowman, a blank-faced shepherd, surrounded by sheep, leans on...

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation following a concerning incident at the Oconee Nuclear Station in South Carolina on Thursday night. At approximately 8:05 p.m. on Thursday, deputies from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office responded immediately to an emergency call from the Oconee Nuclear Station. An unknown individual had reportedly driven a car through the exit side of the facility’s gate, facing Highway 183, FOX Carolina reported. According to on-site accounts, following the unauthorized entry, the facility’s security systems activated pop-up barricades designed to immobilize intruding vehicles. The rogue driver, however, managed to reverse the vehicle upon encountering...

At Tulane University, Dylan Mann, a Jewish student, took part in a pro-Israeli rally on October 27. A group of pro-Hamas demonstrators looking for trouble arrived in a pickup truck — it has still not been made public if they were students or not — and tried to start a violent confrontation by setting fire to an Israeli flag. The flag was one that either they had brought themselves for that very purpose, or had ripped from the shoulders of a student taking part in the pro-Israel rally. Mann tried to stop them; he was then attacked by two of...

Asher Moskowitz, a volunteer first responder, describes seeing the body of a baby who was burnt in an oven on Oct. 7. (Screenshot) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (JTA) — It was on the fourth day of the war between Israel and Hamas, Asher Moskowitz recalled, that he saw the baby among the corpses at Camp Shura. Moskowitz had come to Shura, a military base near the central Israeli city of Ramle, as a volunteer with the United Hatzalah emergency response corps. The base had been transformed into a center for identifying those killed in the Oct. 7 massacre by Hamas, the terror group...

[Make sure to read Robert Spencer’s contributions in Jamie Glazov’s new book: Barack Obama’s True Legacy: How He Transformed America.]As is by now abundantly clear from the pro-Hamas rallies we have seen all over, the left loves jihadis, and this love is longstanding. Today’s global crisis, however, is bringing a new clarity to what exactly the left has been supporting, and it isn’t really “diversity” and “inclusion,” much less “tolerance” or “peace.” Vogue cover model Ahed Tamimi is a chilling case in point.Back in October 2018, Vogue Arabia, the Dubai-based Arab edition of the venerable fashion magazine, published a piece...

It's so strange … people are in the streets celebrating a terrorist group that invaded Israel on the Sabbath and slaughtered 1,400 civilians, but they take great umbrage at the suggestion that these terrorists raped or beheaded anyone. Sure, they accept that they shot them and stabbed them and maybe even that they set them on fire, but beheading? C'mon. That's just IDF propaganda to make Hamas look like barbarians. And you notice no one denies that more than a thousand Israeli civilians were killed in a surprise attack … rather, it was "exhilarating" to hear. Some L.A. Times journalists...

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then...

FORTRESS MONROE, Monday, Nov. 2. The Richmond Whig of Oct. 31 has been received here, and contains the following dispatch: CHARLESTON, Friday, Oct. 30. From sundown on Wednesday until sundown on Thursday, 1,215 shots from 15-inch mortars and 300-pounder Parrotts have been thrown against the fort. Our loss is seven wounded. This evening the enemy opened fire from the mortar battery at Cummings' Point upon the northeast angle of the fort, which seems to be the special object of their attention. The enemy's batteries engaged were...

More than four years after Democrats made Donald Trump’s taxes a focus of investigation, House Republicans are turning the tables on Joe Biden. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told Just the News that his investigators are probing whether a series of payments in 2017 between the president and his brother, James Biden, were properly accounted for on taxes. The inquiry was prompted when the committee received bank records showing that James Biden made payments of $200,000 and $40,000 from personal accounts to President Biden in 2017 after receiving money from business deals involving a financially troubled health care firm...

Public comments submitted to the NHTSA warn that combined with other proposed rules, the new fuel efficiency standards will have the effect of banning gas-powered cars. Other arguments against the proposed rules include concerns about increased reliance on electric vehicles placing a burdensome demand on the national electric grid. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Adeluge of comments were dropped on the Biden administration concerning its proposed fuel economy standards, many of them saying that the rules exceed statutory authority, won’t save consumers money, will hurt the automotive industry, and could impact national security. By the time the comment period closed this fall, the National...
