Year: A(I).First readingJonah 3:1-10 ©The Ninevites repent, and God spares themThe word of the Lord was addressed to Jonah: ‘Up!’ he said ‘Go to Nineveh, the great city, and preach to them as I told you to.’ Jonah set out and went to Nineveh in obedience to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was a city great beyond compare: it took three days to cross it. Jonah went on into the city, making a day’s journey. He preached...

Psychological dysfunction is now valorized and embedded in our institutions. We need to understand what we’re dealing with. There is a creeping sense that our society has turned upside-down. Healthy debate is replaced by activist hysterics. Speech is declared violence; violence is excused as speech. Masculinity is condemned as “toxic,” while men in dresses are celebrated in the public square. It feels as if we are in the midst of a society-wide mental breakdown. One might be tempted to laugh at these manifestations as the outbursts of small but vocal minority, but the compromised health of our body politic is...

Hey, give Ali Velshi credit! At least the MSNBC reporter didn't describe Hamas' murderous attack on Israel, as he infamously said of the violent post-George Floyd riots in Minneapolis in 2020, to be "not, generally speaking, unruly," while standing in front of burning buildings. But, during MSNBC's 4 pm hour on Monday, Velshi declared that the total siege of Gaza announced by Israel's Defense Minister, constitutes a "war crime."Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

Video: Skip to 5:39 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT9DidiOXrkThen he noticed the same guy... randomly attacking innocent bystanders as they were walking down the sidewalk. One might think this is an open-and-shut case with all the video evidence effspot and his friend handed over to authorities. But if you know anything about the criminal justice system in Los Angeles then you won’t be surprised this guy was released in two hours. As they sped off, the attacker threw a rock or maybe a heavy wad of keys at the side of the car, cracking the window. they called 911 and the cops showed up...

An Anti-American coalition in the heart of the White House. Formally introducing his cabinet to the public, Joe Biden proudly declared: “This is the first [time] in American history that the Cabinet looks like America.” Looking at the actual appointments and not just the gender, skin color and ethnic origins of the Biden team, it is a team that may look like America but doesn’t think like America. In fact, it is a team whose outlook is anti-American. Take Biden’s Vice Presidential choice, Kamala Harris, whose antipathy for America oozes from her every pore. At a February 2019 presidential campaign...

Hamas’ brutal assault against Israel came on Vladimir Putin’s birthday. Such a catastrophic security shock in the Middle East was probably a welcome surprise for a Russian president whose strategic priority is to divert Western support and attention away from Ukraine. A massive conflagration in Israel risks doing exactly that. The big question is how much credit to give the Kremlin for the perfect storm of mounting crises — in Israel, Kosovo, the Caucasus and Africa — that are rearing up on America and Europe. For many, it’s tempting to see Putin as a mastermind or puppetmaster, stirring up more...

A key claim of the green energy movement has long been that the intermittent “renewables” — wind and solar — provide the cheapest form of energy. Therefore, the advocates say, just build enough wind turbines and solar panels, convert all use of energy to electricity, and sit back and enjoy a future of affordable energy without adverse environmental consequences. Meanwhile a key theme at this blog has been exposing the incompetence and chicanery of the claims of low cost for electricity from wind and sun. Although it may often seem as if nobody is listening, I reassure myself that when...

A Hamas senior official said that they are willing to discuss a truce with Israel after having “achieved its targets,” according to Al Jazeera. Israel has been bombarding the Gaza Strip with rockets since the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas launched a surprise assault Saturday morning resulting in the deaths of over 700 Israelis, with two thousand more injured and an undetermined number have been taken hostage. Moussa Abu Marzouk, a senior official, said that the terrorist group had ” achieved its targets” and would be open to a truce or “something of that sort” during an interview with Al Jazeera....

The US military is quietly shipping hundreds of thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine from a massive stockpile in Israel, according to a Tuesday report. The ammunition supply is located in Israel for the US military to use in regional conflicts. The US has also given Israel permission to use some of the supplies in emergency situations, The New York Times reported, citing American and Israeli officials.

The higher-ed policies of Florida and Governor Ron DeSantis have been a lightning rod for liberal rage for quite some time now, and the intensity has only heated up with DeSantis’s presidential campaign. First, Florida scuffled with the College Board, designer of Advanced Placement courses, over the content of a Critical Race Theory-intensive African-American Studies class. Next, the Sunshine State argued publicly with the organization over its AP Psychology offering, which, like all courses, must abide by the state’s Parental Rights in Education law. Yet the latest higher-ed news out of Florida may be the most significant of all. Effective...

"Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. "For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me." ☰ Revelation 16 1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour...

The Biden administration last month awarded $100,000 in taxpayer funds to a Gaza university that over the weekend praised the Hamas terrorists who invaded Israel as "righteous martyrs." The State Department on Sept. 29 awarded the grant to Al-Quds Open University to promote "community service" and "action planning" among youth in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, according to records obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. Al-Quds on Saturday announced a temporary closure to mark a "day of commitment to the comprehensive strike" against Israel. "Glory and eternity to our righteous martyrs," the school said on social media in...

The real Columbus, whom few today know much about, is an exemplary figure worthy of celebrating for many reasons. He was born in 1451 in the port city of Genoa, in what is now Italy, and was named Cristoforo Colombo. It has been said that he chose to call himself Christopher Columbus because he liked what this name meant. In Latin, Columbus means “dove” while Christopher means “Christ-bearer.” Some modern-day revisionist historians have taken cheap shots at Columbus, taking a chapter out of Lenin in charging him with being an imperialist. ...Seen from the big picture, Columbus Day is worth...

A top Biden administration official was pressed Monday on the president's recent public claim that global warming is the sole existential threat to humanity, as the Palestinian group Hamas orchestrated militant attacks and kidnappings in Israel. On "The Story," anchor Martha MacCallum cited continued American financial support for Ukraine following its invasion by Russia, and longtime aid for Israel before queuing up a clip of President Biden speaking during his visit to Hanoi, Vietnam last month for John Kirby, the National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications. "The only existential threat humanity faces – even more frightening than a nuclear...

"No phrase represents more of a hope over experience triumph than the phrase 'Middle East Peace Process'. A close second might be the once fashionable notion that Israel should trade land for peace. Since everybody seems to be criticizing Israel for its military response to the rockets being fired into their country from the Gaza Strip, let me add my criticisms as well. The Israelis traded land for peace, but they have never gotten the peace, so they should take back the land."
