  • Evidence of mysterious 'recurring nova' that could reappear in 2024 found in medieval manuscript from 1217

In 1217, a German monk looked to the starry southwest sky and noticed a normally faint star shining with unusual intensity. It continued to blaze for several days. Abbott Burchard, the leader of Ursberg Abbey at the time, recorded the sight in that year's chronicle...This medieval manuscript may have been the first record of a rare space phenomenon called a recurrent nova — a dead star siphoning matter from a larger companion, triggering repeated flares of light at regular intervals. According to new research, the "wonderful" star in question may be T CrB, which sits in the constellation Corona Borealis...

...Two objects orbiting each other, like a lone planet around a star, can be described with just a line or two of mathematical equations. Add a third body, though, and the math becomes much harder. Because each object influences the others with its gravity, calculating a stable orbit where all three objects get along is a complex feat...More than 300 years ago, Isaac Newton wrote down his foundational laws of motion, and mathematicians have been working on solutions to the three-body problem pretty much ever since. There is no single correct answer; instead, there are many orbits that can work...
  • Hildegard's Concept Viriditas - God's Power And Creation And Men

On September 17, in 1180 A.D., poet, composer and nun Hildegard Von Bingen died. Hildegard created the word Viriditas to describe the intrinsic ability to heal of plants, people and God. The word derives from the Latin adjective viridis meaning green. I believe that Hildegard's profoundly poetic imagination would also have had in mind the Latin noun vir meaning man. My thoughts today on Hildegard's language lead me to think she thought of men as being green in a truly healing way. God Bless Hildegard Von Bingen.

In the ongoing Gun Free School Zone case against Gabriel Metcalf in Billings, Montana, Gabriel’s federal public defender, Russel Hart, has filed a motion requesting a detention hearing. The Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Thomas K. Godfrey has indicated he opposes re-opening a detention hearing. This means Godfrey wants to keep Gabriel Metcalf in a federal lockup in the Yellowstone County Detention Facility until trial. A trial could be years away. This case could go all the way to the Supreme Court. The magistrate judge, Timothy J. Cavan, ordered the United States representative in this matter, AUSA Godfrey, to file...

As the House Oversight Committee recently revealed, President Joe Biden used at least three aliases in his email correspondences. The major media, probably out of ignorance, missed the likely code embedded in those names. In Time magazine, for instance, Brian Bennett wrote, "Joe Biden used Gmail addresses with the name 'robinware456' and 'JRBWare' during his time as Vice President. He also used a government-issued pci.gov account with the name 'Robert.L.Peters.'" Bennett's article is titled "Here's What We Know About the Email Aliases Joe Biden Used While Vice President," but Bennett does not even guess at the meaning of the chosen...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemJohn 15The Vine and the Branches 15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5...

Only a national government as universally corrupt as ours could feign ignorance about the Biden Crime Family's sordid history. Joe Biden's corruption is outdone only by the mainstream media's commitment to hide it from the public. Why propagandists posing as journalists would feel the need to continue covering for China Joe and his quid-pro-quo mafia family is a mystery (although reporters are so addicted to censoring truth and spreading disinformation that they probably don't know how to behave differently). To be sure, the public has known about the Biden Crime Family's notorious racketeering activities for decades. When a lifetime politician...

Following successful Ukrainian attacks on a large landing ship and a submarine in occupied Sevastopol, the Russians have moved three large landing ships from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov. Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesman for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on the national 24/7 newscast, said that "These processes concerning the liberation of our territory will continue in the future. By the way, it is telling that today the Russian invaders have for some reason moved three large landing ships from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov." Pletenchuk noted that the large landing...

Claims of new successful drone attacks on Russian warships of the Black Sea Fleet remain unconfirmed as of Saturday, though two ships in question were seen under tow in Sevastopol. Observers quickly noticed the appearance of Russian Project 1239 Bora-class missile corvette Samum under tow in Sevastopol after a Ukrainian “Sea Baby” uncrewed surface vessel attack Thursday outside Sevastopol. A picture appears to show the hovercraft's stern sitting low in the water with tow boats connected to bow and stern lines, though obvious evidence of damage remains unseen. Satellite imagery also captured the Black Sea Fleet flagship Admiral Makarov, a...

As the nation faces a future of increasing flooding, drought and wildfires, millions of 60-pound rodents stand by, ready to assist. Beavers can transform parched fields into verdant wetlands and widen rivers and streams in ways that not only slow surging floodwater, but store it for times of drought. Still not impressed? In 2020, three raging wildfires in Colorado — including one with walls of flame 70 feet high — effectively bowed to the flat-tailed dam-builders, according to Emily Fairfax, an assistant professor of physical geography at the University of Minnesota at Twin Cities. The fast-moving “megafires” left the water-saturated...

Are Trump's and his associates' persecutors so wrapped in their own propaganda that they think that they are the good guys? John Eastman is a distinguished constitutional expert who had the temerity to advise Donald Trump on legal theories by which suspect electoral results in the 2020 election could be challenged. These are perfectly valid theories, one should note, and, in a better world, they would have been addressed by the Supreme Court. For this, he has been viciously attacked by the legal academy, indicted by a rabid Georgia grand jury, and subjected to disbarment proceedings by the California Bar...

An Ontario, Canada, man whose right to carry a gun in his country was revoked, allegedly swam across a river to the United States, where he stole a handgun from a pawn shop before getting arrested. FOX 2 Detroit reported that Jeremy James Wallace has been accused of visiting Metro Pawn & Guns in New Haven, Michigan, on Sept. 6, where he asked to see a .22 caliber pistol. After taking a look at the handgun, he asked to see another gun. Authorities said when the employee went to get the other gun, Wallace grabbed the .22 caliber handgun and...
  • Due to record-high levels of debt accumulation across sectors, rising interest rates, and inflation, the current economic situation is under threat of becoming unsustainable.

Record-High Household Debt: The fact that household debt in the U.S. has reached $17.1 trillion is alarming. High levels of household debt can strain individuals and families, making it difficult for them to manage their finances and save for the future. Mortgage Debt: The record $12.0 trillion in mortgage debt indicates a growing burden on homeowners, especially as mortgage rates have risen to 7.5%. Higher mortgage rates can make it more expensive to own a home and may deter potential buyers. Auto and Student Loans: The significant levels of auto and student loan debt ($1.6 trillion each) suggest that many...

Desperate left-wing pols turn to old Soviet tactics to solve the problems they themselves created. The Soviets successfully pulled off a number of dirty tricks which increased their power but impoverished their citizens. Among them was to stir up class warfare by politicizing envy. Thus, unsuccessful farmers were urged to demonize and even kill “kulaks” -- that is, any productive farmer in the area. Another trick was to fail to provide factories with sufficient raw materials to fulfill the overly optimistic state-set production quotas and then criminally prosecute factory managers who couldn’t meet these targets as "saboteurs.” It deflected from...

"Stand firm . . . having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace" (Eph. 6:14-15). Standing firm while in the conflict requires the right kind of spiritual footwear. I'll never forget a game that took place at the Rose Bowl during my college football days. Being winter time and late in the football season, the field was in bad shape from several days of rain and an entire season of wear and tear. However, the grounds crew painted the field green, so it looked much better than it actually was. I had two pairs of football...

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released a scathing letter directed towards the White House after he was acquitted of state impeachment charges Saturday. Paxton, a Republican, was accused of corruption, bribery and unfitness for office by a bipartisan group of Texas state senators. All 12 Democrats in the jury voted for his impeachment, along with two Republicans: Sens. Robert Nichols and Kelly Hancock. The attorney general was accused of misusing his political power to hire Nate Paul, a real estate developer who employed Paxton's alleged mistress Laura Olson. Paul was indicted in June for allegedly making false statements to banks....

A grassroots movement is challenging six laws passed in the New Mexico state legislature that its organizers say threaten their communities, infringe upon parental rights, and compromise the election process. “People are starting to realize that this is not the state that they grew up in,” Larry Marker, an independent oil and gas producer who is a part of the group that initiated the Referendum Project, told The Epoch Times. The nonpartisan Referendum Project's mission is supported by Article IV, Section 1 of the state constitution, which gives citizens the right to “reserve the power to disapprove, suspend and annul...
