India's caste system is among the world's oldest forms of surviving social stratification. The BBC explains its complexities. The system which divides Hindus into rigid hierarchical groups based on their karma (work) and dharma (the Hindi word for religion, but here it means duty) is generally accepted to be more than 3,000 years old. How did caste come about? Manusmriti, widely regarded to be the most important and authoritative book on Hindu law and dating back to at least 1,000 years before Christ was born, "acknowledges and justifies the caste system as the basis of order and regularity of society"....

The Christian Bible is composed of both the Old Testament and the New Testament; not because Christians simply pay homage to the Word that preceded Christ’s arrival and the subsequent birth of Christianity, but because both the Old and New Testaments are entwined. The New Testament neither represents a departure from nor a revision of God’s Old Testament laws and faith. Rather it represents a fulfillment and reaffirmation of the promises made before. Jesus Christ Himself wasn’t a Christian, but a Jew and the son of God. In America, our Constitution and Declaration share a similar relationship. Just as the...

I wonder which season the US economy is in, according to President “Chance the Gardener” Biden. If you believe the recovery talk (from the reckless Covid economic and school shutdowns of 2020), all is well in the (economic) garden. For example, M2 Money Velocity (GDP/M2), is almost back to where it was just prior to the 2020 Covid outbreak and resulting government-caused recession. M2 Velocity was 1.425 in Q4 2019 and was 1.289 for Q2 2023. But ever since The Federal Reserve became hyper intervention in the economy (let’s just start with Bernanke’s massive intervention in late 2008 (red line)...

Foreigners who place their trust in the promise of the United States to have their back apparently are unaware of the fate of Vietnamese, Libyans, Cambodians, Afghanis and Iraquies who believed Washington’s promises. When the going gets tough, the U.S. says adios. The following video cartoon is a canary in the mineshaft. While the West is scrambling to blame Ukraine for the failed counter offensive, some in the Ukraine are pushing back against that narrative by correctly noting that the pledge of Washington and NATO to give them the weapons systems needed to beat back the Russian offensive is nothing...

I have long said that when the costs of fossil fuel suppression policies start to hit home to average consumers, the whole climate alarm movement will become politically toxic, and will fade away. So far in the U.S. we haven’t seen much movement in this direction. The red states are mostly alert to the issue of the costs of Net Zero, and want no part of fossil fuel suppression. The blue states have inflicted some substantial early costs on themselves (up to about doubling the cost of electricity in the case of California) without the voters having yet gotten too...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemJohn 2Jesus Clears the Temple Courts 13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!” 17...

"If I have the gift of prophecy . . . but do not have love, I am nothing" (1 Cor. 13:2). Love motivated God to communicate with fallen humanity. That must be your motivation too. The word prophecy as used in 1 Corinthians 13:2 is the ability to publicly proclaim God's truth accurately and authoritatively. It's a greater gift than tongues because tongues were given as a sign to unbelieving Israel in the first century (1 Cor. 14:21-22), whereas prophecy instructs and edifies believers throughout the centuries. Paul said, "one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and...

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa - Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy implied Saturday that American involvement in the war in Ukraine may be because of President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden. “The purpose of the U.S. military [is] to advance American interests, to protect the homeland. Not to aimlessly fight some random war that’s arguably a repayment for a private bribe that a family member of the United States received, $5 million from Burisma,” said Ramaswamy, speaking at a campaign event to a crowd of about 60 Iowans in Council Bluffs. Ramaswamy, who’s crisscrossing Iowa in a bid to win the Republican...

Text messages that have recently been given to the FBI show that a Chinese energy company sought to utilize its connections to Hunter Biden in order to purchase domestic energy assets within the United States. According to Just The News, the text exchange in question took place between two of Hunter’s business partners, James Gilliar and Tony Bobulinski, on Christmas Eve of 2015. This exchange was shortly after Hunter had first been told about the conglomerate, CFEC China Energy, led by wealthy businessman Ye Jianming. “I think this will then be a great addition to their portfolios as it will...

On July 31, U.S. District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong denied the motion to dismiss the lawsuit in a 20-page letter, saying that customers "could believe — erroneously — that the products originated in Texas." "Though it is true that the imagery of the solo white star and lassoing caricature are not exclusive to the state of Texas, taking the imagery and text of the label as a whole, this argument does not discount the possibility that a reasonable consumer would believe that the products are based in or originate from Texas." The class action lawsuit, filed on September 12, 2022,...

History has shown us that there is a great deal of commonality among dictatorial regimes across the world. So here they are, in no particular order of importance. Perhaps some features may seem familiar. Rigged Elections Dictatorial regimes are aware that the world looks upon them with consternation due to their repression of the citizenry. Hence, they stage periodic elections where the result is predecided. The leader anointed by the establishment always wins with an unprecedented majority. To achieve this landslide victory, ballot boxes are stuffed, counting is rigged, electronic voting machines are tampered with, opposition candidates are baselessly smeared,...

The North Texas area has quietly become the new frontier for the development of self-driving trucks, with several companies from around the world setting up operations — and using North Texas highways for real-world testing. For now, these delivery trucks making stops at Sam’s Club, Kroger and other destinations do have a human behind the wheel — a safety driver in case of emergencies or technology glitches. In the not-too-distant future, that will no longer be the case. Several companies are competing to bring to market a dominant driverless technology for the future of moving goods on the nation’s highways....

The juxtaposition of the Department of Justice’s handling of Hunter Biden with its outrageous treatment of Donald J. Trump justifies Scott Adams's view: "We can now see all of the machinery of government, from influence peddling to fake news to intel-supported hoaxes to political persecutions.” Diving even deeper, as have Jonathan Turley, James Freeman, Dan Bongino, and David Samuels, it’s beginning to look as if Barack Obama knew of Hunter’s corruption and the danger it posed to national security and did nothing about it. In exchange, he’s serving a third term as president behind the scrim while the demented present...

A transgender woman is demanding the return of her testicles which she claims her ex-boyfriend is keeping in a jar in his fridge. In a affidavit and claim, Brianna Kingsley said that her former partner William Wojciechowski, of Pontiac, Michigan, was holding onto the body parts she'd had removed during gender reassignment surgery. The Detroit News reported that Kingsley, 40, has demanded the return of her testes as well as to be paid damages totaling $6,500. Wojciechowski, 37, has asserted however that his former partner 'picked up all her possessions when [they] broke up', and insisted he's entitled to keep...

THE BIG REVELATION of the last two weeks is that forty million Americans have stopped attending church in the past 25 years. That’s something like 12 percent of the population, and it represents the largest concentrated change in church attendance in American history. Many husbands and wives with faith are asking whether the institutions and communities that have helped them preserve their own faith, still exist for their children.

Many medical doctors use the energy centers of yoga to alleviate physical diseases. Kroger and William Fezler say:The reader should not be confused by the supposed differences between hypnosis, Zen, Yoga and other Eastern healing methodologies. Although the ritual for each differs, they are fundamentally the same.[6]
