Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, a Democrat, is facing criticism for "Nixonian tactics" after her administration admitted to creating a list of her most vocal critics and providing it to local authorities. "The list was made in response to a request from the Boston Police Department after the Mayor had been harassed and physically intimidated by individuals for several months outside her home, at city functions such as the annual neighborhood parks coffee hours, and at other public events," Wu spokesman Ricardo Patron said in a statement to the Boston Herald. The acknowledgment by the administration that it had compiled the...

About 22 percent of North Americans ages 85-89 and 33 percent of those over 90 suffer some degree of dementia (JAMA Neurol, 2022;79(12):1242-1249). The risk for dementia can be reduced significantly by exercising and lowering high blood sugar levels, maintaining a healthful weight, and avoiding smoking (Lancet, Feb 1, 2022;7(2):e93-e94). Two recent studies show that exercise may be even more important in reducing Alzheimer’s disease risk: • A study of 21,982 patients with Alzheimer’s disease and 41,944 controls without Alzheimer’s disease were classified by their genetic ability to grow larger muscles. Those with larger muscles had a significantly greater cognitive...

What do you think, Freepers? A lot of you tell me it's a dead-end job and no one wants it and that it usually marks the end of a political career. But I think Rand would be suited to it. He is principled and can have a say in staff hires and domestic policy. I think he'd be a good and active vice president! HW Bush was VP and didn't stop him so there's that. The office is what you make of it I feel and I dont think Rand would turn it down. Lets face it he's going no...

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blamed the “American right-wing” for Canadian Muslims’ opposition to gender ideology and LGBTQ curriculum in K-12 education. The video was of Trudeau speaking with the Muslim community last week at a Calgary mosque — Baitun Nur Mosque — after hundreds of protesters rallied against gender ideology in schools, chanting “Leave our kids alone.” The frustration reached a boiling point after audio surfaced of an Edmonton Public Schools teacher berating Muslim students for skipping school in order to avoid pride events. “It goes two ways. If you want to be respected for who you are, if you...

After 12 months in office, a massive blowout in net migration and two major reviews, the Anthony Albanese government will, in 2023 and 2024, embark on a significant overhaul of immigration policies that will bring down Australia’s net migration from its current peak. From July 1, 2023, the government has undone a range of Covid-19 policy settings. These were implemented by former prime minister Scott Morrison’s Liberal–National coalition government due to pressure from business lobby groups desperate for labor. The most significant was former immigration minister Alex Hawke’s decision to provide international students with unlimited work rights. That decision drove...

If only the Navy could repair subs as quickly as its transgender teams castrate sailors. On June 16, 2023, a date which will live in infamy, the Pearl Harbor base featured the story of Lt. Nick Grant, an “out gay cisgender man” who was a co-chair of the Naval Medical Force Pacific Transgender Care Team (NMFP TGCT). The title of the Pride Month feature was “serving with pride”. The Navy’s medical service, which can’t seem to do anything about active duty personnel killing themselves, has multiple “transgender care teams” for different regions composed of multiple specialists for different areas to “oversee...

From biblical times to the present, there has been an ongoing battle between good and evil that has been waged through the centuries. On one side, there are those who believe in a higher power and that mankind was made in the image of God, which is an immutable constant not to be trifled with or corrupted by human beings. Another way of saying that is that people in this camp believe that human nature itself has been immutable and constant through the millennia and that only by looking to God can mankind improve his condition. On the other side are...

What does grooming look like?Predators seek trust from victims. Whatever kids are lacking in their lives, traffickers want to be their number one in that area. I have seen several videos where kids talk about “He was my number one confident, I could tell him anything.” At the same time, traffickers try and pull them away from family and friends.Predators give child validation. They compliment them. Tweens and teens are self conscious, and they are looking for compliments or reassurances. That happens a lot with predators.

Data is from the US Climate Reference Network - The USCRN is the most pristine land based temperature system in the world - The decline from average was NOT expected - The two previous months showed substantially higher than average temps, most likely because a new El Nino current has begun in the Pacific Ocean - USCRN data collection began in 2005, and the chart in Comment #1 shows that USA land temperatures have been flat to slightly down over the last 18 years

The U.S. is sending F-16 fighter jets to the Persian Gulf region to help protect ships from Iranian seizures in the Strait of Hormuz. The F-16 fighters were expected to arrive in the region over the weekend to augment A-10 attack aircraft that have been patrolling the Strait of Hormuz to deter Iranian ship seizures for more than a week, a defense official told the Associated Press. The move comes a little more than week after Iran attempted to seize two oil tankers near the strait, according to the U.S. Navy, opening fire on one of the tankers and only...

@SKMorefield Ron DeSantis torches Donald Trump on policy: "He promised to drain the swamp. It got worse. He did not drain the swamp. He promised to have the Mexico pay for a border wall. They did, like, 50 miles of wall. There's massive expanses still there. He said he was going to eliminate the national debt. They added almost $8 trillion to the debt in four years and, of course, in 2020 he turned the country over to Dr. Fauci, and those lockdowns and the borrowing and printing really sent us on a bad course."

It is easy to get caught up in the current state of American politics, but it is essential that we also keep an eye on the future, especially as authoritarians on the left are aggressively trying to influence the next generations to buy into their statist ideology.A recent survey conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek revealed that almost half of millennials support the idea of misgendering someone being considered a criminal offense. This means that a huge chunk of Americans in this age group want to use the government to force people to censor themselves, which is a...
