More than 3,500 Starbucks workers across the country have shut down 150 stores over stalled contract negotiations and the alleged removing of Pride Month décor. In Los Angeles, a group of unionized workers protested outside their Cypress Park store while wearing rainbow clothing and holding signs. 'Starbucks has taken down Pride flags in most stores and I feel a bit lied to as a place that wants you to express yourself and it encourages inclusivity,' said one employee. The employee, who identified herself as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, said she sees the removal of the décor as a...

I'm trying to clone a 240 GB SATA SSD to a 500 GB Crucial M.2 NVME drive, this in a Win 10 Pro Dell 3420 desktop machine; the M.2 drive was physically installed earlier this evening. The Crucial cloning software (actually Acronis) finds the new disk just fine. But, just before I ok the setup and begin the cloning, Acronis advises the new disk will be "MBR", even though most advice is to use GPT with SSD's in Windows 8, 10, and 11. Maybe it's just me being tired (long day working outside in serious heat), but I can't figure...

Let’s discuss Lyn Alden’s thought provoking Tweets on China’s aircraft industry.Under the RadarAround the margins, a Chinese-made plane starts reducing import needs, especially if they start reducing its foreign part composition too. The next phase, once more mature, would be to export it throughout BRICS+ countries. This news has been rather under the radar. -China ramped up auto exports over the past three years. They rival Germany and Japan in auto exports now. -Now China's new plane (15 years from start of development) is out. Good chance that it ramps up big in several years. — Lyn Alden (@LynAldenContact) June...

James Comer appears on Newsmax 6-25-23.(Credit: Newsmax) Chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability James Comer (R-KY) appeared on Newsmax Saturday and promised new evidence of funds wired to the Bidens from foreign countries. As we’ve reported, bombshell news broke Friday that Hunter Biden received $5.1 from a Chinese firm after he sent a threatening WhatsApp message to an associate, Henry Zhao. Hunter claimed in the message that he was “sitting here” with his father, a clear effort at intimidation.Comer told host Eric Bolling that he has more information to share soon:Let me assure the American people…we...

Britain must prepare for the sudden collapse of Vladimir Putin's regime, government officials are warning, amid fears the 'mortally wounded' despot could carry out a 'Stalin-style' purge to cling on to power. Western officials warned that Putin's grip on Russia is crumbling as questions mounted over his whereabouts following the attempted coup by the Wagner mercenary forces, led by his former ally Yevgeny Prigozhin. A senior source in the UK Government told The Times that Britain 'must prepare for a whole range of scenarios' and that 'this could be Chapter One of something new'. Meanwhile, Alicia Kearns, the chairman of...

An American fencer's outburst after a match may have cost his entire team a chance to compete at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. After a semifinals loss at the Pan-American games in Peru, Curtis McDowald went on a tirade that disqualified the entire USA men's épée team. On the decisive point, McDowald was penalized with a red card, ending the match. After the loss, McDowald's opponent tried to shake his hand, but he angrily slapped it. As other members shook hands, McDowald, a 2020 Olympian, kicked and put his foot through a free-standing banner at the venue. Because of his...

States are scrambling to figure out how to keep making money to funnel into road maintenance amid economic struggles in President Joe Biden’s (D) America. Officials have historically spent gas taxes on roadways, but “the problem that has developed is those taxes are generating less each year due to inflation, fuel efficiency and the rise of electric cars,” Fox Business reported Sunday. Now, state officials are hoping to somehow replace those taxes, and charging drivers by the mile and not the gallon in the future is one among several proposals

Hacker Kim Dotcom has offered his take on the “Wagner Coup” in Russia, intimating that Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin may have collected billions from the CIA to stage a coup, and then aborted the coup. “This started as a power struggle between Prigozhin and (Russsian Minister of Defence Sergei) Shoigu. In the beginning of the Special military operation Shoigu and his team made mistakes and Prigozhin became of strong critic of Shoigu. Prigozhin then had success in Bakhmut with Wagner Group presenting himself as a better military leader than Shoigu. In my view Shoigu then provoked Prigozhin by limiting ammunition...

For the first time in Germany, the AfD has won a district council election, administrators announced on Sunday. Voters in the central German town of Sonneberg elected AfD candidate Robert Sesselmann at the expense of incumbent district administrator Jürgen Köpper of the CDU. In the runoff election in the Thuringian district of Sonneberg, Sesselmann won 52.8% of the vote, earning him the necessary absolute majority, according to election officials. The area of some 57,000 people is one of the smallest districts in Germany. Still, the AfD victory is a major breakthrough for the far-right party, which mainstream parties have refused...

In brief statements issued late last week in Moscow – their significance missed in the western press — President Vladimir Putin ordered a reality check of Russia’s war strategy. He then answered himself by declaring the war will be over when no Ukrainian army will be left on the battlefield, nor NATO weapons. The Foreign Ministry answered by pointing out that Russia does not recognize there is a legal Ukrainian state because the reality is that the mutual recognition treaty between Russia and the Ukraine was cancelled by Presidents Petro Poroshenko and Vladimir Zelensky in 2018 and 2019. “We can...

[Catholic Caucus] "The Church Occupied": Article on the Synod by Jean-Pierre Maugendre The Church OccupiedThere was a time when preachers loved to inflame the hearts of their flocks by evoking the one, holy, catholic, apostolic and Roman Church, the unique ark of salvation. Those days seem long gone. The time has come for the synodal Church. What is a synodal Church? On June 20, the secretariat of the Synod of Bishops published the Instrumentum laboris, the working instrument for the Synod to be held in Rome in October 2023. MOSCOW — In a shocking turn of events, the mercenary army known as the "Wagner Group" stole Vladimir Putin's official podium in a brazen coup attempt. "We've done it!" cried mercenary soldiers as they carried the podium out of the Kremlin. "For the Motherland!" News of the podium's seizure spread quickly across the globe, with several outlets reporting that Putin's dictatorial reign had come to an end. "Putin has lost the podium -- I repeat, Putin had lost the podium. It's over, folks," announced MSNBC anchor Lawrence O'Donnell. "Control of the Russian government now belongs to that jolly-looking mercenary who...

Wagner Forces Lead Mutiny To MoscowA wild 24 hours kicked off after Wagner leader Yevgheny Prigozhin organized his men and pushed to Rostov on Don and onwards to Moscow. The threats poured out from Wagner aligned Telegram channels that Defense Minister Shoigu has signed his death warrant, that General Surovikin would face a tribunal for surrendering Kherson and that Russia would soon have a new president. In their trek across Russia, the Wagner convoy met little formal resistance and instead shared videos of locals cheering them on, taking pictures and appearing to be siding with their cause.
