She was just plane rude. Passengers on board a plane bound for Las Vegas scolded a fellow flier after she refused to disembark the aircraft for disorderly conduct. The unidentified woman was caught on camera berating other travelers prior to takeoff from an airport in California last Friday, with her meltdown filmed by Amanda Grasham. Grasham claimed to Newsflare that the woman was “visibly intoxicated” and was “acting aggressively to staff” before she was asked to leave the plane. “Y’all can’t even tell me what I did,” the woman can be seen screaming at other passengers in the footage. “Who...

And that’s the last time his loved ones heard from him. Surveillance footage from that day showed the doctor walking toward his RV outside the hospital in Cassville, Missouri, his brother said. A MAJOR UKRAINIAN counter-offensive is now imminent. With the arrival of June, spring has turned to summer and President Zelenskyy’s forces are poised to seize the initiative after months of almost static and brutal attritional warfare around the eastern city of Bakhmut. According to Nato’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the alliance has supplied almost 100% of the equipment and weapons necessary for what may prove to be a significant turning point in the war. Over the winter, Nato has given Ukraine more than 1,500 state-of-the-art armoured fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers – including 230 main battle tanks. In addition,...

Mark 11:11-26 Friends, at the heart of today’s Gospel is the cleansing of the temple. Jesus entered the great temple in Jerusalem—which for a Jew of that time was everything—and began to “drive out those selling and buying there.” Precisely because the temple was supposed to be so holy, Jesus was flabbergasted at what had happened to it and how the trading of merchants had come to dominate. From the earliest days, Christian writers and spiritual teachers saw the temple as symbolic of the human person. In fact, didn’t St. Paul himself refer to the body as a temple of the...

HARLINGEN, Texas (AP) — U.S. authorities on Thursday expanded slots to seek asylum at land crossings with Mexico through a mobile app for the second time in less than a month, seeking to dispel doubts it isn’t a viable option. There are now 1,250 appointments daily at eight land crossings, up from 1,000 previously and 740 in early May. The increase “reflects our commitment to continue to expand lawful options for migrants,” said Blas Nuñez-Neto, the Homeland Security Department’s assistant secretary for border and immigration policy. “We’ll continue to expand appointments at the border as our operations allow in terms...

Chuck Grassley were approached by a whistleblower alleging that the FBI was in possession of a document—an FD-1023 form, dated June 30, 2020—which explicitly detailed information provided by a confidential human source alleging Biden, while serving as vice president,...

The refrain across much of the Deep South for decades was “Thank God for Mississippi!” That’s because however abysmally Arkansas or Alabama might perform in national comparisons, they could still bet that they wouldn’t be the worst in America. That spot was often reserved for Mississippi. So it’s extraordinary to travel across this state today and find something dazzling: It is lifting education outcomes and soaring in the national rankings. With an all-out effort over the past decade to get all children to read by the end of third grade and by extensive reliance on research and metrics, Mississippi has...

In a new study, a team led by Assistant Professor Yoshitaka Kondo investigated the amount of dietary protein needed to improve metabolic health in mice approaching old age. The team recruited young (6 months old) and middle-aged (16 months old) male C57BL/6NCr mice who were fed isocaloric diets with varying protein content (5 to 45 %) for two months. After two months, the effect of varying protein diets was assessed based on measurements of skeletal muscle weight, liver and plasma lipid profiles, and self‑organizing map (SOM) cluster analysis of plasma amino acid profiles. The team observed that the consumption of...

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “José Díaz-Balart Reports,” Senior Adviser to President Joe Biden Gene Sperling commented on the recent jobs report and stated that “there’s a lot to feel good about” because jobs are still being created and that “we’ve seen inflation now at 3.3% average over the last six months” in headline numbers, so “We’ve seen inflation continue to come down.” Sperling said, “I think there’s been a decent amount of resilience. We’ve seen inflation continue to come down. The last six months, inflation averages 3.3%, so, to have an economy where jobs are still growing, where unemployment...

Explanation: Big, beautiful spiral galaxy M101 is one of the last entries in Charles Messier's famous catalog, but definitely not one of the least. About 170,000 light-years across, this galaxy is enormous, almost twice the size of our own Milky Way. M101 was also one of the original spiral nebulae observed by Lord Rosse's large 19th century telescope, the Leviathan of Parsontown. Assembled from 51 exposures recorded by the Hubble Space Telescope in the 20th and 21st centuries, with additional data from ground based telescopes, this mosaic spans about 40,000 light-years across the central region of M101 in one of...

For men with large prostates, the Aquablation procedure is safe, with durable efficacy, according to a study. Naeem Bhojani, M.D. and colleagues reported five-year safety and efficacy outcomes of the Aquablation procedure for treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia and large-volume prostate glands. Data were included for 101 men with moderate-to-severe benign prostatic hyperplasia symptoms and prostate volumes between 80 and 150 mL (mean volume at baseline, 107 mL), who underwent a robotic-assisted Aquablation procedure. The researchers found that the study successfully met its safety and efficacy performance goal at three months, which was based on transurethral resection of the...

News of a recent alleged assassination attempt on Russia’s leader, Vladimir Putin, raises the question: what kind of Russia might emerge after him? It is tempting to believe that, if Putin were killed, or otherwise removed from power, for example in a palace coup, Russia would shake off its dictatorial shackles, normalize its relations with the West, and advance down the democratic road. Such thinking is mistaken. History suggests there are slim prospects of Russia doing so. The surest guarantee that Russia will not reform along democratic lines is the power of its security and intelligence services. At key junctures...
