Trump says ‘I’m at least as innocent as he is’ after Pence won’t face charges on classified documents

Former President Trump on Friday argued he should be cleared of wrongdoing for his handling of classified documents after the Justice Department said it would not bring charges against former Vice President Mike Pence on the issue, despite vast differences in their cases.

“Just announced that they are not going to bring charges against Mike Pence on the document hoax,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “That’s great, but when am I going to be fully exonerated, I’m at least as innocent as he is.”

Pence couldn’t declassify anything, and Trump could — so isn’t Trump “much more innocent than he is”?

An important point is that Pence was only the vice president. The president has authorities that the vice president does not have.

And Biden had classified documents from his time as VP, and not from his presidency.

So if we are going to give a pass to vice presidents who had classified documents in violation of the law, how can we then go after a president Who had documents?

I can't see where there would be a crime, (as my understanding is that the president can classify and de-classify any doc). Corrections invited.

That said, if Mister Trump ever served, even briefly, in the Military, I suspect that he would have known much, much better.

YES!! Only POTUS can declassify documents unilaterally.
VP does not have that power.

Not really. The Justice Department is not the final say. They are mere partisan hacks who have spent 7 years trying to frame him.

If he said something was declassified, it was. He does not have to follow ANY process whatsoever. And his decision is not subject to review.

He will win this latest frame up.

Loyalty to someone who recognizes your value and gives you a chance to be Vice President seems to be worthless to Pence.

Earlier statement this year:

“President Trump was wrong,” Pence said during remarks at the annual white-tie Gridiron Dinner attended by politicians and journalists. “I had no right to overturn the election. And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable.”
Mar 12, 2023

I believe Pence, Jeb, Christie and others will be in the category of “1%” and then fall to “discontinued from polling data as too low under threshold.”

That happened to Kamala Harris and then her supporters stopped donating money and she dropped out of the presidential campaign (after trashing Biden on the way).
Back then....
Earlier Tuesday, CNBC reported that Harris canceled a fundraising event in New York amid a flood of recent reports describing her campaign as chaotic.

Some of her top bundlers expected her fourth quarter totals to be a “disaster” and noticed that the “events were not going well,” according to a member of her finance committee, who spoke to CNBC on Tuesday on the condition of anonymity.

CNBC reported in October that donors were struggling to persuade their networks to write checks to her campaign. In some cases, many of her supporters have told the campaign that they will not host events for her.

Her support among Democrats and independents nationally slipped from 10% in a June 28-July 2 poll to 2% in the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll that ran Nov. 20-22, falling from the third most popular candidate to sixth in that span.

The Deep State is terrified by Donald Trump and not the least bit afraid of Mike Pence. That’s the difference.

Nobody will let go when their golden goose is threatened. That is human behavior for million years or more.

The mere existence of Trump is the biggest threat to the leftist cabal that controls DOJ and our media.

They feel justified to massage any statute necessary to charge him and they will do so.

The “special counsel Smith” is another in a long line of partisans who persecute more than investigate. Too few of our fellow Americans understand the “bubble” that DC has become just as people inside the bubble fail to understand flyover country.

I don’t want bad things to happen, but in their minds they are justified to wave torches inside the powder magazine because they view Trump as a bigger threat than the inevitable explosion. It’s crazy.

Did Pence turn Fed’s witness? Wouldn’t surprise me. He’s a traitorous bastard.

A good way to understand what is at stake in the US elections......

The flow of money throughout the world is at stake - even a 1/10th of a point shaved from this is tens of billions of dollars.

The US government budget is about 5 trillion dollars - about equal with Japan as the third biggest “GDP” in the world.

You get to control a 20 trillion dollar economy.

You control the biggest military in the world.

You often get the inside scoop on the US stock market which is worth about 40 trillion dollars.

People rob banks for much less.
