Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) appeared to have no recollection of her recent — and lengthy — absence from Washington, D.C., during a recent interview, scolding a reporter who mentioned her time away and claiming that she had been “here, voting.” Feinstein, 89, was absent from the Senate for nearly three months while she recovered from a bout with the shingles virus — and since her return, she has been using a wheelchair and has kept a more limited schedule than she did prior to her absence. She had just voted against a measure that would have nullified some D.C. criminal...

FBI/WIKIPEDIA/PUBLIC DOMAIN Special Counsel John Durham declared the DOJ and FBI’s hearts and minds corrupted. Monday’s special counsel report detailed extensive evidence of Department of Justice and FBI misconduct concerning the launch and handling of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation, and equally overwhelming proof of partisan motives and double standards. While the facts are critical of both the bureau and the DOJ, more scandalous is John Durham’s conclusion that the inexcusable targeting of a political opponent cannot be prevented absent a curing of the corrupted hearts and minds of law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Durham’s 306-page report opened with an executive...

I think I've had discussions w/enough Boomer-tier Trump supporters who believe the 2020 election was fraudulent to extract a general theory about their perspective. It is also the perspective of most of the people at the Capitol on 1/6, and probably even Trump himself. Most believe some or all of the theories involving midnight ballots, voting machines, etc, but what you find when you talk to them is that, while they'll defend those positions w/info they got from Hannity or Breitbart or whatever, they're not particularly attached to them. Here are the facts - actual, confirmed facts - that shape...

Florida students will now be required to learn about “Asian American and Pacific Islander” history, thanks to Ron DeSantis. A few conservatives saw this as a good thing. These types believe the AAPI program will teach Asians as an assimilation success story. This is a foolish hope. Asians don’t want to depict themselves as a model minority that adapted Anglo-Protestant virtues. Just like every other minority group, they want to present themselves as victims of the white majority. That’s how you gain status and power in American society. There are few incentives to proclaiming themselves as a well-assimilated minority. That...

There are many Canadians in Texas – at least it feels that way when one of their hockey teams come to town. By the way, some of my most interesting conversations about socialized medicine have been with Canadians. So what's going on up north? Check this out: An advocacy group in Alberta, Canada, is trying to educate residents of the province about what it argues would be the benefits of breaking off from the country to join the U.S. as its 51st state."I find myself having an affinity toward the U.S. more than Canada because of the freedom, Constitution and...

(Last Updated On: May 15, 2023) NATIONAL WALNUT DAY | MAY 17 We have a certain belief the squirrels might enjoy this one. In 1958 May 17th officially recognized National Walnut Day by a Senate resolution signed into law by President Eisenhower. Today we celebrate with delicious recipes of salads, desserts, and snack foods #NationalWalnutDay Rounded, single-seeded stone fruits of the walnut tree, walnuts are a high-density source of nutrients, particularly proteins and essential fatty acids. Like other tree nuts, walnuts must be processed and stored properly. Grown for their seeds, the Persian or English Walnut and the Black Walnut...

The state of American politics is not as uplifting these days as it once was. So this seems a good time to write about something more hopeful — one of the most noble and worthy political leaders ever to lift our nation. Former President James Earl Carter (D) was a great president and is a great man. He is a devout Christian, a patriotic American, a devoted husband and father, a charitable neighbor, and a powerful voice for human rights and democracy around the world. He is a man who spends every day trying to make his country, community and...

According to this Bloomberg article, Michelle Obama is “a co-founder and strategic partner at Plezi Nutrition, a maker of sweetened beverages for kids ages 6 and up,” which I take to mean that she is profiting directly from the sale of these beverages. Her rationale:Obama says she’s offering a lower-sugar alternative to steer them away from sugary drinks. So, are they healthy for kids?Plezi’s first product is a flavored juice drink blend that, under the very standards Obama championed, could not be served in US schools. Bloomberg News interviewed 12 independent health professionals and organizations and spoke with Plezi Chairman...

More bad news about the economy and housing sector under Biden/Yellen/Powell’s Reign of Economic Error. US housing starts are out for April 2023. The bad news? Housing starts tanked -22.3% year-over-year (YoY). The good news? US housing starts were up 2.19% from March to April. 1-unit detached starts were up 1.56% MoM while 5+ unit starts up 5.24% MoM. Permits for multifamily were down -9.71% from March to April. The media will no doubt try to ignore the horrifying Durham Report. The report showed that Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration knowingly smeared Presidential candidate Donald Trump with false Russian...

Former Attorney General William Barr said the newly released Durham report proved that the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election was a “grave injustice” to ex-President Donald Trump. “I think the real story here from the FBI’s perspective is what an abomination this was, this so-called investigation,” he said on Fox News’ “Special Report” Tuesday. “If it wasn’t a witch hunt, it’s a damn good imitation of one.” Barr, who appointed Justice Department prosecutor John Durham to investigate the FBI probe, said he believes the long-awaited, four-year review revealed the realities about the Russia investigation — which in...

Here’s another nugget from the John Durham Report. A Confidential Human Source (CHS) for the FBI reported to the FBI alleged foreign election influence efforts targeting the Clinton Campaign back in November 2015. Jon Herold from Badlands Media posted this on Monday. It’s not clear if their source was known drug addict Stefan Halper who was used to bring down the Trump campaign. Halper was the spy working for the FBI in the Trump campaign. He was earlier indicted on cocaine charges. This is who the FBI relied on in its attempted coup of the President of the United States....

One in four fourth-graders in Germany cannot read properly post-lockdown, international research has shown. Data published as part of the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS) has found that one in four fourth graders in Germany cannot read properly as of 2021. The data has contributed to fears that the country’s prolonged COVID lockdown has badly damaged a generation of children, with the country’s government warning that nearly three-quarters of children in the country have been left with mental health difficulties as a result of COVID restrictions.

Sarah Bonner has been an Illinois middle school teacher for 20 years, and she has always tried to offer her students a diverse collection of books. One of those books was Juno Dawson’s “This Book is Gay.” It’s a bestselling nonfiction book that’s billed by its publisher as an entertaining and informative “instruction manual” for anyone coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans. “By Wednesday, I received notice that parents had gotten a hold of pictures from that book that their child had taken in class,” Bonner says. “By Friday, I was told that parents had filed a police...

A US high school is facing criticism after it suspended a student for recording her teacher using a racial slur in class. Mary Walton, 15, filmed her teacher saying the n-word repeatedly on 9 May at Glendale High School in Springfield, Missouri. Her family has since retained a lawyer and asked the school to apologise. School officials said they believe the student was disciplined appropriately. The teacher who used the slur has quit. As well as an apology, the young student and her mother, Kate Welborn, have asked the school to strike the suspension off her academic record, her lawyer...

...Most of the focus and headlines these past few weeks has been on how much the promo with Mulvaney has cost Bud Light in sales, customers, and brand value among people who disagree with the company aligning itself with a trans person. What the brand should really be worried about, though, is the longer-term impact among the much, much larger audience it was coveting in the first place. Beer sales overall have been on a steady decline for years, and beer brands have been forced to navigate the palates of younger generations steering increasingly toward spirits, cocktails, hard seltzer, and...

(Daily readings from the USCCB)Jesus said to his disciples: “I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth.” John 16:12–13This passage still rings true for all of us today. God wants to reveal to us, within the depths of our consciences, the deepest, most profound and transforming truths that flow from the mind of the Father in Heaven. But we cannot bear it all now. Not fully. And eternity will be spent continually deepening our understanding of all that God reveals....

Brandon Johnson spent part of his first full day as mayor Tuesday visiting asylum-seekers who have been sleeping on the floor of the 12th District police station and others staying at a temporary shelter in Little Village, saying he needed to see the crisis “first-hand.” The new mayor met with several immigrants staying at the 12th District police station, telling them he was ‘grateful’ they were here and assuring them that ‘we are going to do everything we can to make this home for you.’
