A researcher has led a study that confirms a direct link between certain chemicals in drinking water and human obesity—specifically that increased PFAS content in blood promotes weight gain and makes it harder to keep a lower body weight after weight loss. "We've previously shown that children with increased PFAS concentrations tend to gain weight and develop higher levels of cholesterol in the blood," said Grandjean, a professor of environmental medicine at the University of Southern Denmark, who has researched the human health impacts of PFAS in multiple countries and populations, including children, for decades. "We now focused on adults...

There are a lot of journalists I disagree with, there’s lots of people whose programming I might not find interesting, but he was a direct menace and directly responsible for stoking racism, and all sorts of vitriolic believes throughout his show.”

A new study of elderly patients showed that those who exercised in the evening experienced a greater decrease in blood pressure compared to those who exercised in the morning. The work also revealed the neurovascular mechanisms responsible for these findings. "Elderly patients or those with resistant hypertension or obesity don't always experience as much blood pressure benefit from exercise as other groups," said Leandro Brito, Ph.D. "For these patients, finding a more beneficial time to exercise may reduce their need for medication or help it work better." The study, which was conducted when Brito was a postdoctoral trainee at the...

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is reporting phase 2 clinical trial results treating the brain tumor craniopharyngioma with proton therapy. The researchers found a similar survival rate between more targeted proton therapy and photon therapy but improved neurocognitive outcomes with the proton therapy. The clinical trial may set the new "gold standard" for pediatric craniopharyngioma treatment. Craniopharyngioma is a rare brain tumor that forms in the central region of the brain, making it difficult to treat without exposing surrounding healthy brain tissue to radiation. Conventional radiation therapy, called photon therapy, has raised the five-year survival rate for this cancer to...

According to Reggie Littlejohn, president of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers, China seeks to use the WHO’s proposed amendments and pandemic treaty to expand its social credit system globally. The World Health Organization (WHO) is pushing for a pandemic treaty and changes to the current International Health Regulations (IHR) to strengthen its position during medical emergencies. Additionally, these suggestions expand the definition of emergencies to encompass prospective danger, not just actual injury. A definition of “One Health” that includes all occurrences in the biosphere that might affect human well-being is provided in the draft treaty. The WHO director-general will have sole...

A newly established PSMA PET scoring system can successfully predict whether metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) patients will respond to treatment with 177Lu-PSMA therapy. International, multicenter testing demonstrated the effectiveness of the tumor-to-salivary gland ratio (PSG score), which can easily be applied clinically with substantial reproducibility. The recently FDA-approved radiopharmaceutical therapy 177Lu-PSMA has been shown to reduce the risk of death by 38 percent and the risk of progression by 60 percent in mCRPC patients. "Patients do not respond uniformly to this treatment, however," said Masatoshi Hotta, MD, Ph.D. "Identification of patients who will benefit remains an unmet clinical need."...

NEW YORK – After the Washington State House failed to pass an amendment to a bill that would require clergy to violate the seal of confession, Bishop Thomas Daly of Spokane reminded legislators that throughout history “all” such attempts by “kings, queens, dictators, potentates, and legislators” have failed, and that even if it passed, clergy wouldn’t capitulate. “I want to assure you that your shepherds, bishop and priests, are committed to keeping the seal of confession – even to the point of going to jail,” Daly said in an April 19 statement. “The Sacrament of Penance is sacred and will...

. I am embarrassed for Sean Hannity. How many years has he done the Tick-Tock bomb, and moved from Hillary to Hunter? Strangely, one of his weekly guests has protected Joe and Hunter at every turn - Lindsey Graham

About 50 Anglican clergymen, who are not in communion with the Catholic Church, took part in religious services at the highest-ranking papal basilica in Rome on Tuesday, April 18. The Vatican later released a statement of regret, attributing the incident to a failure in communication. The clergymen, who were accompanied by Bishop Jonathan Baker of the Church of England, are part of the Anglican Communion, which broke away from the Catholic Church in 1534 amid King Henry VIII’s frustration that he could not receive an annulment for his marriage. The Catholic Church does not consider Anglican holy orders valid and...

The Montana House has been having a debate over the banning of the gender transitioning of minor children, or “gender-affirming” care, as the Orwellian people like to term the mutilation of children. Montana Rep. Zooey Zephyr — who is transgender — attacked colleagues claiming that if her colleagues supported the bill, they would have “blood on their hands.” That violated the rules of decorum for attacking colleagues. After Zephyr’s remarks, Republican Speaker Matt Regier demanded that Zephyr apologize before being allowed to speak again in the chamber. “Not only has my colleague violated decorum, but has broken the trust given...

...Ask these executives why they're pushing the office so hard and you'll get some HR-concocted jumble of "productivity" and "creativity" and "culture." But their less-filtered peers will tell you what they really think. Jamie Dimon declared that working from home "doesn't work for those who want to hustle." Elon Musk demanded that employees commit to an "extremely hardcore" schedule consisting of "long hours at high intensity." And in a recent op-ed article in The New York Times, the finance executive and professional blowhard Steven Rattner railed against working from home as evidence that America has "gone soft." I mean, they...
