WASHINGTON - The White House dismissed allegations by an IRS special agent said to be seeking whistleblower protections to discuss “preferential treatment” in the federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes, insisting the case is “free from any political interference.” White House spokesperson Ian Sams defended the Justice Department’s independence after a lawyer for an unnamed career IRS employee said his client was prepared to provide information to lawmakers about undue influence in the case. “Since he took office and consistent with his campaign promise that he would restore the independence of the Justice Department when it comes to decision-making in...

ABSTRACT: Bangladesh, one of the world’s poorest countries, has experienced a dramatic decline in fertility since 1985, with a decline in the total fertility rate from 5.5–2.1. International researchers have debated the reasons for this rapid decline, with some studies attributing it primarily to family planning programmes and others pointing at the simultaneous increase in the education of women and other socioeconomic factors. Using data from seven-rounds of the Bangladesh Demographic Health Survey (BDHS), we comprehensively review fertility trends by reconstructing cohort and period fertility indicators by educational attainment. Multilevel regression shows a robust negative association between fertility and educational...

The blood of Christ cleanses from all sin; it is our atonement. First of all, it is our security. It is God’s way of securing to himself a people ready for a full deliverance. Remember that on the night of the Passover the Israelites were safe but not yet delivered. They still had to face a Red Sea, a wilderness, warfare with giants, imposing walls and enemy strongholds. I am convinced that before I can do battle against principalities and powers, before I can resist the lust and temptations that are our modern giants, I must have the knowledge that...

The Ukrainians are using US-supplied glide bombs and the Russians have their own. These weapons are a new feature in the Ukraine war, and so far the Russians are winning the battle of glide bombs. The Ukrainians are calling the Russian glide bombs an “extremely big threat.” The US has supplied Ukraine with two different types of glide bombs, the GLSDB (ground-launched small diameter bomb) produced by Boeing and Saab (Sweden), and the JDAM-ER (joint direct attack munition-extended range), manufactured by Boeing. Over the years Boeing has produced more than 500,000 JDAMs. Russia has answered with two types of precision...

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God" (Matt. 5:9). God’s peace cushions the soul during difficult times. I remember reading about what is called "the cushion of the sea." The ocean surface is often greatly agitated, but as you descend, the water becomes increasingly calm. At its greatest depths the ocean is virtually still. Oceanographers dredging ocean bottoms have found animal and plant remains that appear to have been undisturbed for hundreds of years. Similarly, Christians can experience a cushion of peace in their souls regardless of their troubled surroundings. That's because they belong to...

A Russian Sukhoi-34 fighter-jet has accidentally bombed the Russian city of Belgorod, around 40km (25 miles) from the border with Ukraine. The bomb left a 20m (60ft) crater and caused an explosion so large it blew a car on to the roof of a nearby shop. Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said authorities had ordered the evacuation of a damaged nine-storey block of flats as a precaution. Three people were injured and several buildings were damaged, he said. Video posted on social media showed the impact of the blast, lifting a vehicle on to the roof of a supermarket as traffic...

Matthew Graves just received a court summons. As the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, Graves is rarely on the receiving end of a legal inquiry. In fact, Graves’ hand must be tired from signing thousands of criminal indictments, sentencing memos, and plea offers related to his ongoing investigation into the events of January 6, 2021. Just this week, the FBI arrested two more individuals on minor offenses, giving Graves’ overstaffed office more fresh meat for the Justice Department’s vengeful retaliation against Americans who protested the certification of Joe Biden’s election that day. No investigative technique is too invasive...

Just before fighting his final disastrous battle on Mount Gilboa against the Philistines, King Saul, in disguise, asked the Witch of Endor to summon up the ghost of the prophet Samuel so that he could consult with him. In the ancient world, necromancy, or the summoning up of the ghosts of the dead, was frequently done by means of “ghost pits” dug into the ground. As will be seen, when the Witch of Endor summoned up the ghost of Samuel, she was using a ghost pit. The use of ghost pits was a common pagan practice in the ancient world.Most...

Today we're joined by our friend James Lindsay to discuss a few hot-button topics in the news. First we talk about Dylan Mulvaney's Budweiser sponsorship and its fallout. James explains why corporations are so obsessed with "inclusion" and what's on the line for them if they don't comply with ESG overlords. Then, we look at the United Nations' new report that calls for the decriminalization of all sexual activity (including pedophilia). Of course, this makes complete sense when you look at the consistent and ever-growing grooming culture among the Left. We talk about why the Left always seems to default...

Progressive ideology focuses on the “common good” while devaluing individual rights. This mindset, however, has disturbing consequences: when you elevate the “common good” over the rights of individuals, individuals become expendable.Such a mindset can lead to some disturbing practices.Eugenics and the Progressive EraIndeed, American progressives in the Progressive Era had quite an affinity for eugenics as a means to improve the stock of society by “scientific” means of control.

Vast numbers of Chinese citizens are illegally crossing our border with Mexico. The U.S. Border Patrol is able to apprehend some of them, but thanks to the Biden administration once they are processed most of them are given “notices to appear” and are then freely released into our communities.

"Death and destruction are central to their whole operation," DEA chief Anne Milgram Milgram said Friday, calling the Chapitos and the global network they operate "a network that fuels violence and death on both sides of the border." El Chapo, the Sinaloa cartel's founder, is serving a life sentence in a maximum security prison in Colorado after being convicted in 2019 on charges including drug trafficking, money laundering and weapons-related offenses. In January, El Chapo sent an "SOS" message to Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, alleging that he has been subjected to "psychological torment" in prison.

An eco-mob dubbed the 'Tyre Extinguishers' has returned to the United States The group deflates the tires on SUVs because they are 'more likely to kill people' The climate zealots previously claimed they will 'never be caught' after vandalizing New York and striking nine countries in one night Eco-zealots have dramatically returned to the US to wreak havoc on Boston as they slashed forty-three tires on luxury SUVs in the name of climate activism. Residents in the sleepy community of Beacon Hill became the latest victims of the maddening mob, who dub themselves the 'Tyre Extinguishers'. The climate-zealots have infuriated...

Authorities have delayed the release of a manifesto penned by Audrey Hale, the shooter who killed six inside a Nashville, Tennessee elementary school, one public official said, calling it a "blueprint on total destruction." Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tennessee, told the New York Post the FBI was behind the delay while calling for the documents to be released to grieving loved ones and Congress. The manifesto "could maybe tell us a little bit about what’s going on inside of her head," he told the newspaper. "I think that would answer a lot of questions." Hale, 28, identified as transgender and was...

The Biden administration’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) chief is under investigation for allegedly handing no-bid contracts worth millions of dollars to previous colleagues, The Associated Press reported Thursday, citing sources familiar with the probe. The Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General is conducting the investigation after at least a dozen employees, including some of DEA Administrator Anne Milgram’s previous associates, were hired under the contracts, according to the AP. One portion of the probe centers around $4.7 million for “strategic planning and communication” contracts handed to Milgram’s previous colleagues from the New Jersey attorney general’s office and at New York...
