A Colorado House committee on Wednesday began an estimated 12 hours of testimony from approximately 500 witnesses who registered to testify on a bill that would ban the sale of so-called assault weapons in the state. Six members of a private militia group who claimed their constitutional rights were violated when they were arrested after a protest turned violent at Tiguex Park in June 2020 will receive $300,000 to drop three lawsuits they filed against the city of Albuquerque, its top officials and Albuquerque police. Mississippi’s public colleges and universities have until Thursday to send an accounting of their spending on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to the state. The request comes from an Apr. 6 email sent by the Office of the State Auditor to the eight schools in the Institutions of Higher Learning (IHE). PLEASANTON, Calif. (KRON) – Two people were jailed Wednesday morning and accused of murder, robbery, child endangerment and conspiracy after allegedly shooting and killing an employee at a Home Depot in Pleasanton, California.
