In a meeting held on Wednesday, the Sumner County Library Board voted 4-3 to dismiss Hendersonville Public Library director Allan Morales, just weeks after Christian actor, writer, and producer Kirk Cameron headlined a story hour event at the library in February. Cameron’s story time event in Hendersonville was to promote his “As You Grow” book and part of his work with the conservative publishing company BRAVE Books to “win back Story Hour and stand up for truth and Biblical values.” Following Cameron’s appearance at the library with special guests Missy Robertson from Duck Dynasty, women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines, and...

China's President Xi Jinping will travel to Moscow next week to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, officials say. The Kremlin said they would discuss a "comprehensive partnership and strategic co-operation". The visit comes as Beijing, an ally of Russia, has offered proposals to end the war in Ukraine, to which the West has given a lukewarm reception. Western countries have warned Beijing against supplying Moscow with weapons. This will be President Xi's first visit to Russia since Russian troops invaded Ukraine. He is due to have lunch with Mr Putin on Monday followed by talks on Tuesday. A...

YouTube announced Friday that it was lifting restrictions on Former President Donald Trump that will allow him to post new content on his YouTube channel as he makes his bid for reelection to the White House in 2024. The restrictions had been imposed in response to the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the Capitol, which took place after Trump repeatedly made false claims about voter fraud related to his loss in the presidential election.

On March 17, people throughout the world celebrate St. Patrick’s Day as a festive occasion. There are parades, singing, dancing, and toasting, yet how many of the celebrants know why we pay tribute to the man behind the big event? Each month we receive a publication from The Voice of the Martyrs ministry that educates people on persecuted Christians. Why do they feature someone like the legendary Irishman? Why do they mention uncomfortable words like “slavery, suffering and smuggling of children” in connection with this famous figure? In these exciting days of history when reports of revival are surfacing as we repent...

(Daily readings from the USCCB)“Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:29–30Why would you choose anything less than to love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, with ALL your mind, and with ALL your strength? Why would you choose anything less? Of course, we do choose many other things to love in life, even though Jesus is clear with this commandment. The truth is that the only...

The insanity of the COVID-19 shutdowns was a gift that just keeps giving. No one should have been shocked to discover that throwing people out of work en masse (Mistake #1) crashes economies. But Democrats were able to ride the chaos into office, and they used their Washington power to hand out grants and cheap loans willy-nilly, “rescuing” us by flooding the economy with extra trillions of dollars unanchored to anything of any particular value (Mistake #2). No one should have been shocked to see the rampant inflation that ensued and still torments all but the very wealthy today.Traditionally, the...

(NEXSTAR) – The “Thirty-Two Hour Workweek Act” was introduced in the House earlier this month, as progressives try for a second time to shorten the standard workweek from 40 hours to 32. The bill, introduced by Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.), proposes amending the Fair Labor Standards Act to shorten the standard workweek by eight hours for non-exempt employees. (A non-exempt employee is someone who is currently entitled to overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week.) It would effectively mean either shorter workweeks or more overtime pay for hourly workers. While the law, if passed, wouldn’t immediately...

Do you believe in cautionary tales or think most things happen without warning? Your answer might reveal how your psyche processes information to which you are exposed. Everything you need to make good decisions is readily available, depending upon which sources you rely. Recently publicized topics should set your spidey senses twitching: Silicon Valley Bank suffers an abrupt collapse. Joe Biden resurrects the all-but-dead Willow Creek Oil project. Biden’s Energy Secretary praises China’s work on climate change. The president delivers his vision for his FY 2024 budget, with a $6.9 trillion price tag. 40,000 hours of security footage inside the...

San Francisco Bay Area regulators voted March 15 to eliminate the sale and installation of natural gas-powered furnaces and water heaters, supposedly to cut pollution. The ban starts in 2027 and will be implemented over eight years. It seems strangely fitting that this should’ve happened on the Ides of March; San Fran authorities seem to love to stab their citizens in the back with idiotic woke policies. Natural gas is a relatively clean power source and it is also reliable, unlike “green” energy. But why let reality interfere with ideology? Breitbart reported that the ban does not affect gas stoves,...

The Biden administration is planning to charge another thousand Trump supporters with crimes related to the Jan. 6 Capitol clash. This will perpetuate an atmosphere of political emergency that justifies President Joe Biden’s war on domestic extremism. But a change in federal judges has turned the Jan. 6 trials into a kangaroo court and makes a mockery of sending nonviolent Trump supporters to prison for threatening American democracy. More than a thousand people have already been charged with Jan. 6 offenses. That is equal to almost half of the total number of protesters who entered the Capitol that day. A...

HB 1165 Would Change Everything We Know About Money, Privacy, and Health Freedom March 15, 2023 A new bill moving quickly through the Missouri House is becoming familiar to red states that have been blindsided by this Trojan Horse legislation. HB 1165, sponsored by Justin Hicks (R) creates a new Article 12 in Missouri’s legal code for the Uniform Commercial Code. This lays the groundwork for a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDCs) that would be the ONLY currency authorized by the federal government. HB 1165 would amend the UCC to perfect possession of Controllable Electronic Records and adds new sections...

The first thing you need to know about Chloe Barnes is that he is a boy. But he knows the quick path to fame and fortune in today’s Age of Absurdity, and so he claims to be a girl. While Chloe might have been a mediocre male athlete, he is now a champion female one. He towers over his teammates on the Brookline High girls’ indoor track and field team, and with Chloe leading the way, they’ve just won the Massachusetts High School State Finals. Chloe is hardly magnanimous in victory. His message to those who might still have the...

Its crisis time again. First, The Fed’s discount window soared to its highest level since … you guessed it … the previous financial crisis of 2008/2009. Second, the 10-year Treasury yield declined -12 basis points this morning as investors flee to safety. Bankrate’s 3-year mortgage rate rose to 7%, but with today’s decline in the 10-year Treasury yield we should see mortgage rates declining. Yes, much of the blame belongs to The Fed’s leadership (Bernanke, Yellen, Powell) for leaving rates too low for too long, then suddenly try to lower inflation by raising rates. Now we have The Fed’s balance...

Young Americans are dying all over from cardiac events; at least, that’s what it feels like, but the data support it. Cardiac episodes have spiked in the 18-34 demographic, which began two years ago. I wonder what mass epidemiological event occurred that would spur such a spike in cases of young people dying suddenly. It’s not like there was some vaccine that was rushed to market, protected by a legal shield, which government entities forced down our throats. Oh wait, that was COVID, and millions who refused to get the vaccine were threatened with termination of employment or social ostracization....

It sparked no protest demonstrations or riots in the streets and none of the nine Supreme Court Justices who unanimously decided Shurtleff v. City of Boston faced protestors in their front yards or left-wing nutcases threatening them with murder. No, it was the landmark Dobbs v. Jackson Womens’ Health Organization, decided on a 6-3 count, that prompted the violence, anger, and death threats. And it is true that Dobbs, because it reversed the infamous Roe v. Wade decision and thereby returned the issue of abortion to the state legislatures, remains the fuel for all kinds of political debate and controversy. But, as...

One of the more delightful aspects of being a dissident from the absurd apocalyptic climate doom cult is the ability to laugh at the decades’ worth of failed, yet quite specific predictions of disaster from purported “experts” that the media has gleefully trumpeted. The track record of the failure of previous predictions matters not in the least, as if mass amnesia has infected not just the media, but government, academia, and the corporate world. Yet, all of these commanding heights of our political economy are united in pushing forward with ruinously expensive schemes that cannot work to substitute unreliable intermittent...

Decline in the hypothalamic Menin may play a key role in aging, according to a study. The findings reveal a previously unknown driver of physiological aging, and suggest that supplementation with a simple amino acid may mitigate some age-related changes. Leng and colleagues showed that Menin, a hypothalamic protein, is a key inhibitor of hypothalamic neuroinflammation. They observed that the level of Menin in the hypothalamus, but not astrocytes or microglia, declines with age. Another change was a decline in levels of the amino acid D-serine, known to be a neurotransmitter and sometimes used as a dietary supplement. The authors...

Scientists in Japan have just created mice by using two biological fathers.Well, tap the keg!Apparently, the mad scientists somehow managed to create “eggs” from the cells of two male mice…and subsequently proceeded to put those eggs inside surrogate mice…which eventually resulted in offspring.According to a report in the far-left media outlet The Guardian, male skin cells were reprogrammed into a stem cell-like state to create so-called induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. The Y-chromosome of these cells was then deleted and replaced by an X chromosome “borrowed” from another cell to produce iPS cells with two identical X chromosomes.Katsuhiko Hayashi, who...

ChatGPT, write me a rap song about my Chihuahua from Mexico. ChatGPT: Verse 1: I've got a little Chihuahua, she's from Mexico She's small but mighty, and she's always on the go She's my little partner in crime, my loyal amigo But sometimes I wonder, if we're living in limbo Chorus: My Chihuahua's illegal, but I love her just the same I'll do anything to keep her safe, I'll never let her take the blame We'll keep on running, we'll keep on moving forward My little Chihuahua and me, we'll never be ignored Verse 2: We crossed the border, under...
