President Donald Trump eviscerated Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., in his ongoing battle against Disney and its Magic Kingdom in Orlando. “Ron DeSanctimonious totally caved in his public relations inspired battle with Disney,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. “That’s the only reason he went after them in the first place, to show Mr. Tough Guy. Disney maintained complete exemption from property & sales tax, tax-free bonds, and their incredible fast track permitting.”As reported by RSBN, Gov. DeSantis recently signed legislation in February (HB 9B) that ended Walt Disney World’s self-governing status by terminating the corporate kingdom’s special privileges in...

A split among jurors means there will be no death penalty for an Islamic extremist who maniacally raced a truck along a popular New York City bike path, killing eight people and maiming others. The decision means Sayfullo Saipov, 35, an Uzbekistan citizen who lived in New Jersey, gets an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole in the October 2017 attack. Jurors told the judge Monday that they were unable to reach the unanimous verdict required for a death sentence. The sentencing was the culmination of a trial that featured emotional testimony from survivors of...

So much has changed in just a few days: one week ago people cared about boring stuff like seasonally adjusted payrolls (a product of White House administration propaganda as much as actual data) and the readjusted Consumer Price Index (also a product of White House administration propaganda as much as actual data). Well, nothing like a bank crisis to clear one’s head of goal-seeked data that would make Beijing blush. And also – apparently – there is nothing like a bank crisis to send inflation expectations plummeting. Earlier today, in breach of today’s data vacuum, the NY Fed published its...

A newlywed couple opted to have guests shower them with instant mashed potato powder instead of confetti as they exited the chapel. SNIP In a Facebook post, a photographer who was working at the event revealed that the bride wanted to save money by using mashed potato powder instead of rice or flower bits. The photographer wrote that the mashed potato particles went “everywhere” and wound up in guests’ hair, clothes and drinks. Some of the powder mixed with sweat, creating a vomit-inducing mushy mixture. Social media users shared their tots on the couple’s choice, saying the idea to have...

The U.S. government may have made duplicate payments for projects at labs in Wuhan, China, through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), according to records reviewed by CBS News. "What I've found so far is evidence that points to double billing, potential theft of government funds. It is concerning, especially since it involves dangerous pathogens and risky research," said Diane Cutler, a former federal investigator with over two decades of experience combating white-collar crime and healthcare fraud. Cutler found evidence of possible double payments as she investigated U.S. government grants that supported high...

Explanation: What lies at the end of a rainbow? Something different for everyone. For the photographer taking this picture, for example, one end of the rainbow ended at a tree. Others nearby, though, would likely see the rainbow end somewhere else. The reason is because a rainbow's position depends on the observer. The center of a rainbow always appears in the direction opposite the Sun, but that direction lines up differently on the horizon from different locations. This rainbow's arc indicates that its center is about 40 degrees to the left and slightly below the horizon, while the Sun is...

CHICAGO (AP) — Illinois will become one of three states to require employers to offer paid time off for any reason after Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a law on Monday that will take effect next year. Starting Jan. 1, Illinois employers must offer workers paid time off based on hours worked, with no need to explain the reason for their absence as long as they provide notice in accordance with reasonable employer standards. Just Maine and Nevada mandate earned paid time time off and allot employees the freedom to decide how to use it, but Illinois’ law is further reaching,...

Successful completion of high school calculus has long been an unofficial must-have for those seeking admission to the nation’s top colleges: The course has, for decades, served as a signal to admissions officers that a student’s coursework has been robust. But some in education say it’s time to reconsider this de facto requirement: Many schools — particularly those serving large numbers of Black, Hispanic or low-income students — don’t offer the course. And even when they do, it’s of dubious value, they say. “High school calculus is a complete waste of time and a form of torture,” said Alan Garfinkel,...

Michelle Yeoh on Sunday night used her acceptance speech to launch .. an attack on Don Lemon, declaring: 'Ladies, don't let anybody tell you you're ever past your prime.' Lemon's words sparked immediate uproar, with his co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins looking shocked and Lemon then absenting himself from the next few shows and grovelingly apologizing to staff in an emergency conference call. 'A woman is considered to be in her prime in her 20s and 30s and maybe 40s,' said Lemon, to the visible dismay of his co-anchors. He refused to back down after Harlow questioned his remarks,...

Confession, I am guilty of a horrendous crime. It is deeply shallow, completely discriminatory, and has left me single for far too long. I hang my head in shame as I confess… the crime is swiping left on short kings. These mighty men of short girth usually stand at around 5'7 (give or take) and are ignored by the masses. Seriously, ask any woman what their deal breakers are when it comes to dating, and the answer (after a few wines) would be men under 6ft tall. Now if you were to go looking for a short man in the...

Executives at Silicon Valley Bank focused on woke initiatives to increase diversity amongst its ranks and invest in startups promoting a 'healthier planet,' but failed to spot its glaring problems with investments as interest rates rose. The now-failed bank had an A rating for its Environmental, Social and Governance policies according to the MSCI index after creating its own initiatives to 'advance inclusion and opportunity in the innovation economy' and investing in clean energy solutions over the past few years. It even announced that it would invest a whopping $5billion by 2027 to support sustainability efforts, while its European offices...
