James Biden secretly negotiated a $140 million settlement deal in 2012 between a U.S. company and the Saudi Arabian government due to his relationship with then-Vice President Joe Biden, court documents reveal. The revelation represents one more instance of the Biden family business peddling influence while President Joe Biden was an elected official. House Oversight Committee James Comer (R-KY) reportedly already has copies of the court documents and is investigating the scandal as a part of his probe into the Biden family for nine violations, including wire fraud, tax evasion, and money laundering. In 2011, upon the Saudi’s refusal to...

The overdose-reversing drug naloxone should be made available over the counter to aid the national response to the opioid crisis, U.S. health advisers said Wednesday. The panel of Food and Drug Administration experts voted unanimously in favor of the switch after a full day of presentations and discussions centered on whether untrained users would be able to safely and effectively use the nasal spray in emergency situations. The positive vote, which is not binding, came despite concerns from some panel members about the drug’s instructions and packaging, which caused confusion among some people in a company study. The manufacturer, Emergent...

For those who have been praying for a spiritual awakening in the United States, some first fruits might be occurring at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. A student chapel service at the non-denominational Christian university that began last Wednesday morning has been going nonstop since. “No one even expected this to happen. Not on a random Wednesday for sure. Yet, we sit and sing about God’s love pouring out and His goodness,” Alexandra Presta wrote in The Asbury Collegian. “As a senior, I have never witnessed anything like this. I’ve heard about it from alumni, especially those who have come...

Coffee drinkers can take advantage of a new placebo discovery showing decaffeinated coffee quenches withdrawal symptoms in people reliant on their daily caffeine fix. Research found caffeine withdrawal symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, bad mood and irritability, shrank after participants drank decaf—regardless of whether or not they knew it was decaf. For the study, 61 heavy coffee drinkers, who consume three or more cups a day, went without caffeine for 24 hours and had their withdrawal measured. They were then separated into three groups. Two groups were given decaf, with one group told truthfully they were drinking decaf and the...

There's been a lot of talk among Republicans about the effect a big primary field might have on the 2024 presidential nomination race. The short version is that a big field is thought to benefit former President Donald Trump, who, as in 2016, would not have to win a majority of votes to win — a plurality, and not even a big one, would be enough. On the other hand, a small field, especially a one-on-one matchup with another candidate, say Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), might allow the challenger to defeat Trump. But now, a new poll suggests some of...

A blockbuster election development out of Arizona over the use of voting machines with parts manufactured in foreign countries is making some ‘America First’ people very happy with what would seem to be just a common sense bill. Republicans in AZ are making the phrase ‘Made in America’ a popular saying again, especially with people concerned with election integrity. Of course, Democrats don’t support the idea, even while they are trying to convince Americans that they care about American jobs and recapturing our manufacturing. Nonetheless, the bill is getting some steam. On Monday, the Arizona state Senate Committee on Elections...

Residents of East Palestine, Ohio, were told Wednesday afternoon that municipal water is "safe to drink" after officials received new water testing results. The update from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine's office comes just one day after officials urged residents to only drink bottled water amid concerns that chemicals from the Feb. 3 train derailment may have seeped into local water sources. As of Wednesday afternoon, municipal water testing results showed "no detection of contaminants in raw water from the five wells that feed into East Palestine's municipal water system," the governor's office said in a news release. The new results...

Nearly 3 million California households are bracing for a massive cut in CalFresh benefits next month as the federal government stops emergency funding for food stamps that was launched during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. CalFresh recipients who were receiving $281 a month are expected to get as low as $23 a month beginning in April. CalFresh is the state’s federally-funded food benefit program that helps low-income households purchase groceries. Benefits vary based on household income, size and other relevant expenses, according to the California Department of Social Services. Since March 2020, CalFresh recipients have received an additional emergency...

Just last month the NY Times published a story about the growing US debt. The story relied on what were, at the time, the most recent estimates from the Congressional Budget Office.America’s debt is now six times what it was at the start of the 21st century. It is the largest it has been, compared with the size of the U.S. economy, since World War II, and it’s projected to grow an average of about $1.3 trillion a year for the next decade.Today, the CBO put out a new estimate which is significantly worse. Now the US is projected to...

After the 2014 coup in Kiev the dully elected President Yanukovich had fled the country. His supporters in parliament were afraid and would no show up for further assemblies. The incoming U.S. selected government immediately set out to suppress the Russian speaking parts of Ukraine. The first move of the rump parliament, now dominated by right-wing people from west Ukraine, was to prohibit the Russian language for official business. The ethnic Russian population in the east and southeast was opposed to the coup and rebelled against it. The new government tried to oppress it by military means. But a lot...

The average monthly payment for a new car sold within the United States has reached a record $777, according to Kelley Blue Book’s parent Cox Automotive. That represents roughly one-sixth of the median household income and is about twice the price of what would have been considered average in 2019. How the hell has it managed to come to this? Well, Bloomberg has effectively accused automakers of intentionally keeping inventories low so they can maximize profitability – which doesn’t sound all that far-fetched if you’ve been following the market closely these last few years. The outlet claimed that chip shortages...

A Chinese spy balloon flew over Alaska, and we didn’t shoot it down. We didn’t even notice it at first, or so we’re told. The Canadians noticed it, but they didn’t shoot it down either. The Canadians just told the US government that it was on its way, and passed the buck. Or so we’re told. Finally, it entered the airspace of the 48 contiguous states. It floated over Montana, uninterrupted, and continued to float southeast, across the Plains states, across the Midwest, over the Southeastern seaboard, until it finally floated out to sea, and the US government finally gave...

Cobb's state senators split along party lines over a proposal to install a statue of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on the grounds of the state CapitolAs we’ve previously documented, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ mere existence routinely brings out the absolute worst from his woke critics on the left, not just because he’s so good at what he does but also because he’s a black man who unapologetically dared to stray from Democratic orthodoxy, never looking back.A favorite attack line of some of Thomas’ more unhinged critics is that he’s a sellout to his race (and, by extension,...

President Biden on Wednesday used the term “boy” while referring to Wes Moore, Maryland’s first Black governor, in a speech about the economy. Speaking in Maryland, Mr. Biden gave a shout to the governor, recalling Mr. Moore’s days playing wide receiver on Johns Hopkins University’s football team. “You got a hell of a new governor in Wes Moore. He’s the real deal and the boy looks like he can still play,” the 80-year-old Mr. Biden said. “He’s got some guns on him.” Using the word “boy” to describe a Black man is often viewed a racial slur. That’s because, historically,...

President Biden used the word “boy,” a term considered to be racial epithet when used to describe black men, to refer to Democratic Gov. Wes Moore, Maryland’s first black governor, in a speech on Wednesday. “You got a hell of a new governor in Wes Moore, I tell ya,” Biden said during remarks on the economy Wednesday to an audience of IBEW union workers in Lanham, Maryland. “He’s the real deal, and the boy looked like he could still play. He got some guns on him,” Biden added, eliciting cheers from the crowd.
