On Wednesday’s “CNN Newsroom,” Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) called for the U.S. to take on China “in a much more robust way than we are” and responded to a question on whether he’s confident in assertions that the U.S. was able to jam the spy balloon from transmitting information to China by stating that he thinks the U.S. “worked to minimize any potential signatures that our sensitive sites had that could have been picked up” by China’s spy balloon and he believes “we succeeded largely in avoiding” the balloon capturing “incredible information.” Co-host Bianna Golodryga...

Hundreds of Serbian nationalists rallied in Belgrade on Wednesday, demanding that President Aleksandar Vucic rejects a Western plan to normalize ties with breakaway Kosovo and pulls out of negotiations. Shouting “Treason” and carrying banners reading “No surrender,” the right-wing protesters blocked traffic as they gathered near the Serbian presidency building in central Belgrade. The protesters are also strongly pro-Russian, and one banner read: “Betrayal of Kosovo is betrayal of Russia!” The protest comes amid efforts by U.S. and European Union officials to mediate a solution for the long-standing dispute between Serbia and Kosovo, a former Serbian province whose 2008 declaration...

Last year, University of Kentucky swimming star Riley Gaines spoke out about being displaced by trans UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas on the awards podium despite tying for fifth place in the NCAA women’s championship 200-meter freestyle race. Thomas received a trophy that day, while Gaines did not: Speaking with The Daily Wire in a phone conversation, Riley Gaines said that as NCAA officials were handing out trophies on the podium following the race, he said: “Hey, I just want to let you know, we only have one fifth place trophy, so yours will be coming in the mail. We went...

An infamous map that divided the world into different regions was drawn up and published in 1942, after the attack on Pearl Harbor and the entry of the U.S.A. into World War II. The Outline of the Post-War New World Map was created and self-published by Maurice Gomberg of Philadelphia PA, on February 25, 1942. “Gomberg, a Polish Jewish emigre to the United States, created the map as a personal project, and little else is known of him. It shows a proposed political division of the world after World War II in the event of an Allied victory in which...

Since President Trump left office, many of the “trustworthy” media outlets have created a talking point that is now held by a minority, yet noticeable number of Conservative Americans. The belief is “DeSantis is Trump, without the baggage.” If DeSantis chooses to run for president, whether that is in the next election or sometime down the road, his opponents (from both parties) and leftist media will have no shortage of ammunition to create baggage specific to him. 1) As Governor of Florida, DeSantis image as a protector of school children and being “anti-groomer” has gone unchallenged. His press secretary Christina...

What has the Catholic Church hierarchy had to say in the seven days since the slanderous FBI report leaked? Nothing. It has been seven days since a leaked FBI report revealed its Richmond, Virginia field office had infiltrated Catholic communities to investigate “white supremacy,” and the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB) has said nothing in defense of Catholics, traditional or otherwise. The FBI backpedaled on the report, but that doesn’t change the disturbing fact that the bureau demonized and appears to have infiltrated Christian communities for religious thought crimes. It also doesn’t change the unnerving fact that this won’t...

Former Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday he will challenge a subpoena by the special counsel overseeing investigations into alleged efforts by former President Donald Trump and his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 election and will go all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary. “Let me clear: I am going to fight the Biden DOJ subpoena to appear before the grand jury because I think it's unprecedented and it's unconstitutional,'" Pence told reporters in Minneapolis. “The fact that no vice president has ever been subject to a subpoena to testify about the president with whom...

Natural gas furnaces not only heat your home, they also produce a lot of pollution.Even modern high-efficiency condensing furnaces produce significant amounts of corrosive acidic condensation and unhealthy levels of nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and methane. These emissions are typically vented into the atmosphere and end up polluting our soil, water and air. Now, scientists at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory have developed an affordable add-on technology that removes more than 99.9% of acidic gases and other emissions to produce an ultraclean natural gas furnace. This acidic gas reduction, or AGR, technology can also be added to...

The Big Apple’s shoplifting epidemic is costing retail workers their jobs, Mayor Eric Adams said Wednesday - as he endorsed Gov. Kathy Hochul’s push to give judges slightly more discretion in setting bail for criminal defendants. During testimony at an annual Albany budget hearing known as “Tin Cup Day,” when mayors make their pitches for resources in the state budget, Adams was asked by Assemblyman Mike Reilly (R-Staten Island) about solutions to the problems of “organized retail crime” and the justice system’s “revolving door.” "So, what we can’t do is allow repeat offenders to make a mockery of our criminal...

Nutrition researchers studied 80 people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and found those who followed an alternate-day fasting diet and exercised were able to improve their health. The researchers report that over a period of three months people who exercised and alternated feast and fast days—eating without restriction one day and eating 500 calories or fewer the next—saw increased insulin sensitivity and decreased liver fat, weight and ALT, or alanine transaminase enzymes, which are markers for liver disease. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is a buildup of fat and inflammation in patients who drink little to no alcohol. Approximately 65% of...

The Austin City Council on Wednesday voted to fire City Manager Spencer Cronk following his response to the winter storm earlier this month. The council voted 10-1 in a special called session, with only Natasha Harper-Madison (District 1) voting against Cronk's firing. Cronk's termination is effective Thursday, Feb. 16. He will receive a one-year severance of $463,001.50, under a City ordinance in which he was hired in 2018. The council has appointed Jesús Garza, who served as Austin's city manager from 1994 to 2002, to serve as interim city manager. “I serve at the pleasure of the mayor and council...

St Paul's Anglican Cathedral in Melbourne, Australia, has a partisan political message on a massive billboard above the cathedral's front entrance: Let's Fully Welcome Refugees. The Archbishop has verbally acknowledged me as a refugee from Australia in Australia. And followed up in writing. Yet when police interrupted me praying at the entrance with an Aboriginal on 9/11 and dragged me away and physically assaulted and groped me (sexual assault), rather than talk with me, the Archbishop chooses silence. The police are now taking me to court. The leftist police. The ones who persecuted the late Cardinal George Pell with 404...

During a recent interview on CNN's "The Axe Files" podcast, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said that his ex-wife Kimberly Guilfoyle was a "different person" back when the two were married, and that she ended up becoming a right-wing personality because "she fell prey" to the culture at Fox News shortly after she began working there in 2006. Newsom's comments — made on the podcast hosted by David Axelrod, who served as a senior advisor to former President Barack Obama — represent a break from the cursory remarks he typically makes when asked about his former spouse. Since their divorce in...

Biologists have definitively linked the brain's immune system to epilepsy. The researchers lay out a chain of events that can cause seizures—the most common manifestation of epilepsy—to worsen. The sequence begins when oxidative stress in the body causes the brain's immune system to react. That activation by the brain's resident immune cells (called glia) triggers more severe seizures. It’s the first time the brain immune system–epilepsy link has been experimentally proved. "We have provided genetic proof that both oxidative stress and activation of the brain immune system make epilepsy worse," says John Manak, professor. "This is hugely significant because our...

The Florida Department of Health, on Wednesday, issued a health alert of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine safety. “The COVID-19 pandemic brought many challenges that the health and medical field have never encountered. Although the initial response was led by a sense of urgency and crisis management, the State Surgeon General believes it is critical that as public health professionals, responses are adapted to the present to chart a future guided by data,” said FDOH.

As Russia steps up its offensive in eastern Ukraine, weeks of failed attacks on a Ukrainian stronghold have left two Russian brigades in tatters, raised questions about Moscow’s military tactics and renewed doubts about its ability to maintain sustained, large-scale ground assaults. The fighting has also come at a cost for Ukraine, which is expending vast amounts of ammunition to repel Russia’s growing numbers of ground troops, often supported by heavy armor, artillery and close air support. That has added urgency to Ukraine’s pleas for more ammunition, while Western allies this week expressed increasing concern about their ability to meet...
