Democrats in the state of New York have introduced a bill to ban children from playing tackle football, arguing that it puts them at undue risk of injury. Dubbed the John Mackey Youth Football Protection Act in honor of former NFL player John Mackey, a New York native who died of traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in 2011, the bill aims to ban all tackle football for children 12 and under. Assemblyman Michael Benedetto, a Democrat representing the Bronx, has been pushing the bill for ten years and now has a sponsor in the New York State Senate: Democrat Luis Sepulveda. “While...

Vice President Kamala Harris said she has not seen the video of first lady Jill Biden and Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, sharing an awkward kiss on the mouth at President Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday. “No, I haven’t watched the video,” Harris told Univision’s Edwin Pitti on Wednesday when asked for her reaction to the widely shared clip. She quickly pivoted, adding, “But I do know that the first lady and the second gentleman are working arduously with what we are doing with my husband against anti-Semitism.” Footage from inside the Capitol captured Jill Biden in a...

COVID-19 vaccines are now included among the routine shots recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for children, adolescents and adults. The 2023 list includes shots for the flu, measles mumps and rubella, polio, and other inoculations. The vaccine schedule represents the current recommendations for people as a regular part of their vaccinations against common infectious diseases. It does not mean the CDC is requiring a COVID-19 shot for children or that schools will have to require that students receive the shot before enrolling. The vaccine schedule is an important resource for physicians, especially pediatricians, that can...

A whistleblower in the Auburn University Black Student Union (BSU) claims to have retrieved a Google Doc from a group message associated with the organization, which lists over 250 racial slurs for white people, including “failed abortions,” “diseased neanderthals” and more. The whistleblower sent the document and screenshots of the group message on the popular group messaging app GroupMe to Auburn student Jaden Heard, who leaked the information to Turning Point USA (TPUSA), a conservative campus organization. TPUSA published a short article about the findings on its website last week. 1819 News spoke to Heard on Thursday morning. Heard said...

George Hill is a military veteran and a former analyst for the NSA who has retired from the FBI’s Boston field office. Hill recently talked to the House Judiciary Committee about the FBI’s probe of the events surrounding the January 6 riot at the nation’s Capitol. He also talked with Just the News Wednesday night about his concerns surrounding the agency’s activities. According to Hill, agents at the Boston field office were pressured to open criminal cases against people who had done nothing wrong. Originally, agents were told to open cases against seven people who raised red flags during a...

VIDEOTranslators in India often have special psychic skills that can interpret what the speaker REALLY means. Such was the case in Ahmedabad, India recently where Hillary Clinton showed up clad in ugly Mumus to shill for the corrupt Clinton Global Initiative. As you can see, despite the words we hear from Hillary in English, the Indian interpreter was able to translate it into what Hillary really meant.

Sen. John Fetterman remains hospitalized in Washington, DC, and is being monitored for signs of seizures after feeling lightheaded during a Democratic Party retreat Wednesday night. “According to John’s doctors at The George Washington University Hospital, the results of the MRI, along with the results of all of the other tests the doctors ran, rule out a new stroke,” Fetterman’s communications director Joe Calvello said in a statement Thursday. The Pennsylvania Democrat, 53, suffered a stroke in May 2022. “John is being monitored with an EEG for signs of seizure – so far there are no signs of seizure, but...

(Daily readings from the USCCB)They were exceedingly astonished and they said, “He has done all things well. He makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.” Mark 7:37This line is the conclusion to the story of Jesus healing a deaf man who also had a speech impediment. The man was brought to Jesus, Jesus took him off by himself, cried out “Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”), and the man was cured. And though this was an incredible gift to this man and an act of great mercy toward him, it also reveals that God wants to use us to draw...

Disney shares are up Thursday on news that the company is cutting costs and letting go of 7,000 employees. But the real news is that the formerly family-friend studio lost 2.4 million streaming subscribers — and has no plan to end the woke programming that drove them away. Including me.My friend and colleague Lincoln Brown has all the details for you about the layoffs, involving about 3% of the company’s workers.Do you know who isn’t getting the boot? Disney+ producer Latoya Raveneau, who admits to pushing a “gay agenda” by “adding queerness” to children’s programming wherever she can.Or Jim Morris,...

If you think the reasons behind the First World War were incomprehensible, imagine what historians of the future — pan-fraying peccary loins over their camp fires — will think about World War Three. Some people started something in Ukraine… and then the USA blew up the main energy supply line of its NATO ally, Germany… say, what…?!? Weird, a little bit. A sane person in a sane world would call sabotaging the Nord Stream pipelines an act-of-war against a friendly nation, since the result was to virtually destroy the basis of Germany’s industry, not to mention the domestic comfort of...

A recent New York Post article declared that, in a "staggering exodus," in 2022, more residents of New York moved to Florida "than any other year in history." "I hear all the complaints. I feel like a therapist sometimes."The transfer of a driver's license from one state to another...

It’s time to do away with selective college admissions for undergraduate education. Now, let’s get the caveats out of the way. When it comes to specific training that requires particular skills (as with engineering or the performing arts) or courses of study where social benefit makes the case for some screening (as with nursing programs or the military academies), there’s an obvious case for performance-based selectivity. These are instances where prerequisites and demonstrated performance have an obvious, discernible import. Likewise, when it comes to professional schools or graduate training, that’s a different conversation. But should we embrace selectivity in undergraduate...

Weather balloon? Spy balloon? Nope, and nope. I guess that the Chinese balloon sighted over Montana and Missouri this week – and just shot down off the coast of South Carolina by an F-22 Raptor – was a trial balloon. Sure, it may have gathered intelligence about military doings on the surface below, but that was a mere bonus. If I’m right, Beijing’s chief reason for floating a balloon over North America was to see whether it would elicit a response from the U.S. government and military, as well as from the American people. And so it did, judging from...

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee, like California’s Governor Gavin Newsom, is mandating that his state become all-electric. In doing so, Inslee demonstrates serious myopia. He cannot see the ugly side of his wind-, solar-, and EV-mandated world. Such comprehensive dependence on wind and solar requires vast acreage for turbines and panels. The result? The pathetic destruction of pristine landscapes. Further, after decades of experience around the world, wind turbines and solar panels have been found to have a life expectancy of about 20 years. Yet no one has discovered a financially viable means of recycling them. As a result, today’s...

The American teenager’s parents, Stanley and Joyce, have spent a quarter of a century since trying to bring Hamas, the Islamic terror group behind the attack, and its funders in the United States to justice. Their lawsuits have targeted, among others, the Holy Land Foundation which was found in federal court to have provided...

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the...

The last president to reform Social Security was Ronald Reagan. He formed the Greenspan Commission to formulate solutions to problems the program faced. Reagan then worked with speaker of the House Tip O'Neill to enact the solutions. Social Security as we know it would have ended decades ago had he not been successful.During the 2022 elections, Democrats claimed that Republicans would "end" Social Security and Medicare if elected. On January 26, President Biden proclaimed, "Here's the deal: they want to cut your Social Security and Medicare." At the State of the Union address, Biden doubled down, saying, "Republicans want Social...
