The House on Thursday approved a resolution denouncing socialism in a bipartisan vote that fractured the Democratic caucus. The resolution overwhelmingly cleared the chamber in a 328-86-14 vote. The majority of Democrats - 109 of them - voted with all Republicans for the resolution, while 86 voted against it and 14 voted “present.” The measure, which runs three pages, says “socialist ideology necessitates a concentration of power that has time and time again collapsed into Communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and brutal dictatorships.” It argues that “many of the greatest crimes in history were committed by socialist ideologues” - mentioning Vladimir...

I must admit that I have grown fond of this new adjective, woke. It saves me the time of pointing out how delusional, disingenuous, intolerant, illiterate, and religiously fanatical the woke minions tend to be. Ultimately, to be woke means both "deceived" and "deceiving," and for these reasons, it slides nicely into a linguistically fun Scottish phrase, jiggery-pokery, used to describe dishonest behavior. Taken together, jiggery-pokery wokery is amusing enough to belittle the woke legions' cult-like comportment and cut it down to size for its mindless silliness. Yet it is not silly, is it? As amusing and bemusing as its...

(CNN) — News that the Pentagon is monitoring a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon in the skies over the continental United States raises a series of questions — not least among them, what exactly it might be doing. US officials have said the flight path of the balloon, first spotted over Montana on Thursday, could potentially take it over a “number of sensitive sites” and say they are taking steps to “protect against foreign intelligence collection.”

A video of two students viciously beating a 9-year-old student on a Florida school bus has surfaced online, alarming the community and prompting a swift reaction from the girl’s parents. The disturbing footage shows two boys repeatedly striking the girl as she is folded over in a seat, barely defending herself with one hand as she tightly grips her backpack with the other. Many of the punches land on the girl’s head, neck and face. No fellow students or adults intervened... "We’ve had issues before with my son and the kids on the bus, and also in the cafeteria and...

Siebel Newsom's "gender identity" films are produced through her for-profit operation, Girls Club Entertainment, which is then licensed by the nonprofit The Representation Project, to public schools. The Representation Project claims that they fight "sexism through films education, research and activism."... ...The films, which include "Miss Representation," "The Mask You Live In," "The Great...

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is set to ban drag shows in order to 'protect' children after already cracking down on critical race theory in schools. Sanders and her supporters said the bill, which would re-define drag shows as 'adult-oriented performances,' is meant to protect social values.... Arkansas Senate Bill 43, which was filed last month, is aimed at placing restrictions on where drag performances can take place. The bill goes on to define a drag performance as ....

The obscenities of the modern left's police state stupidities totally disgust me. But going to churches and learning there and thinking with Simone Weil and looking at Anita Ekberg .......... Life can still be good.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) sent out a tweet on Wednesday afternoon to mark the feast day of St. Brigid, who is known as Ireland’s female patron saint. “Today, we celebrate the feast of St. Brigid: Ireland’s Patroness Saint and a great leader,” said Pelosi. […] Contemporary abortion advocates have tried to portray St. Brigid as an early abortionist—a claim that has been shot down by Catholic news outlets. In a story that the Catholic News Agency published in 2018 on this issue, Dr. Paul Byrne, a scholar or early Irish history, debunked the pro-abortionists seeking to adopt St....

A massive international research collaboration that analyzed several dozen rigorous studies focusing on "physical interventions" against COVID-19 and influenza found that they provide little to no protection against infection or illness rates. The study, published in the peer-reviewed Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, is the strongest science to date refuting the basis for mask mandates worldwide.Nearly 60% of South Korea's population has now tested positive for COVID despite nearly three years of consistent universal masking with overwhelming compliance When will it be enough for "experts" to admit masks don't work? pic.twitter.com/LS0JF9niog — Ian Miller (@ianmSC) January 25, 2023And of course, the...

A growing number of doctors say that they will not get COVID-19 vaccine boosters, citing a lack of clinical trial evidence.“I have taken my last COVID vaccine without RCT level evidence it will reduce my risk of severe disease,” Dr. Todd Lee, an infectious disease expert at McGill University, wrote on Twitter.Lee was pointing to the lack of randomized clinical trial (RCT) results for the updated boosters, which were cleared in the United States and Canada in the fall of 2022 primarily based on data from experiments with mice.Lee, who has received three vaccine doses, noted that he was infected...

Well, it’s big in Japan...That is what proponents of California’s high speed rail project say when asked about the whys and wherefores of the system. In other words, if it works somewhere else it will work here. That argument, though, falls in the face of a rather basic fact: California and Japan are different. It is true that Japan’s high speed rail system, first begun in 1964, actually makes money – a lot, in fact. The iconic first line, Shinkansen Tokaido, alone carries 90 million people a year and has an operating profit of about $4.4 billion dollars. That does not include...

Oh No! The FBI agent recently arrested for taking bribes from a Russian oligarch also ran the office that looked into crimes related to Hunter Biden’s illegal representation of Chinese spy Patrick Ho. There are no coincidences. The New York Post reported: The wife of an ex-FBI agent arrested this week for allegedly helping a Russian oligarch has something in common with Hunter Biden — their lacrosse-playing daughters, data stored on the first son’s infamous laptop reveals. Pamela McGonigal and Biden both received at least 29 emails related to the Next Level Lacrosse program and other activities associated with the...

A fresh Russian assault around the southern Donbas town of Vuhledar, which began towards the end of January, demonstrates that Moscow’s forces are becoming more capable before a critical – and increasingly uncertain – spring period. Russian forces have not yet made significant gains across the open fields of the region, where the Ukrainians have been dug in for months. But in parallel with the seemingly never-ending Wagner Group-led assault on Bakhmut, 70 miles to the north-east, it shows the invaders trying to push forward at a second point. Until now the conventional view has been that Ukraine holds the...

When President Joe Biden delivers his State of the Union address on Feb. 7, he’ll blame Republicans for his failures and take credit for things he hasn’t done. That’s what he does. It’s what many Democrats are doing intensely right now — a strategy I wrote about recently — but Biden has a special sauce that allows him to get away with it more than any of his colleagues. Unofficially launching his reelection campaign, he’ll cast the GOP as the inflation party for opposing his inflationary Inflation Reduction Act, which spent hundreds of billions of borrowed federal dollars on subsidies....
