The Defense Department has announced the successful launch of a hypersonic missile – as part of an effort to advance U.S. military capabilities amid threats from China and Russia. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency said earlier this week that defense technology producer Lockheed Martin's version of the U.S. Air Force Hypersonic Airbreathing Weapon Concept "capped a program that accomplished all of its initial objectives." "This month’s flight added an exclamation point to the most successful hypersonic air-breathing flight test program in US history," Air Force Deputy Walter Price said. "The things we’ve learned from [the Hypersonic Airbreathing Weapon Concept]...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMark 1Jesus Heals Many 29 As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew. 30 Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her. 31 So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them. 32 That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. 33 The whole town gathered at the door, 34 and Jesus healed many who had...

Acold sent a vegetarian, yoga-practicing, nonsmoking middle-aged cable news anchor who runs seven miles "three to four times a week" to the hospital with heart inflammation — twice — for several days each. A form of cardiac arrest overwhelmingly caused by a projectile to the chest of teenage athletes nearly killed a healthy pro football player during a routine tackle on national television. Celebrity health scares in the past month have prompted fast and sometimes far-fetched explanations in the media and medical community, seemingly to avoid the feared explanation popular on social media: COVID-19 vaccine injury. MSNBC host Yasmin Vossoughian...

“Whites”—to the extent we can determine any race in an intermarried, multiracial society—do not fit the now ossified definition of an exploitive majority. Recently an unarmed 29-year-old African American, Tyre Nichols, was brutally beaten to death by five black Memphis police officers. They were charged with murder. All belonged to a special crime unit known as the Scorpions. Both the victimizers and victim were black. The Memphis police chief is black. The assistant police chief is black. Nearly 60 percent of the police force is black. The white population of Memphis is about 25 percent. The now-disbanded Scorpion unit of...

President Biden had better give his State of the Union Address before the economy worsens any more. In January, the Challenger, Gray and Christmas jobs cuts index was a doozy. Jobs cuts rose 440%. This is happening as The Federal Reserve keeps its feet on the monetary brake pedal. Many of the job cuts are in the tech sector, but job cuts are now spreading across the economy as a recession looms. This morning, the US Treasury 10-year yield is down only -3.5 basis points, but it is Europe where the action is. UK is down -16.2 basis points and...

Today, the heroes are few and outnumbered as the FBI has become the enforcement arm of the Democratic Party, which is the party of government. Who knew, only a few short years ago, that staring in our faces in 2023 would be the crisis posed by the title of this essential guide to the politics of our times: The Fall of the FBI: How a Once Great Agency Became a Threat to Democracy, by former 33-year veteran FBI Agent Thomas Baker? Having followed his insightful columns on the FBI in the Wall Street Journal, I was excited to read Baker’s...

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has pulled Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), who tried to oust him as the Senate’s top Republican in a bruising leadership race, off the powerful Commerce Committee. McConnell also removed Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), who supported Scott’s bid to replace McConnell as leader, from the Commerce panel, which has broad jurisdiction over a swath of federal agencies. The GOP leader insisted last year that he didn’t take the attempt to end his leadership reign personally, but the latest move sends a clear message to conservatives that challenging McConnell’s leadership carries a cost. “McConnell got to...

The steamer Columbia, with New-Orleans dates to the 25th ult., arrived last evening. Everything is reported quiet in that city, and nothing of moment had transpired. Gen. BANKS had been to Baton Rouge to visit the portion of his command at that place -- some 18,000 men, under the command of Maj.-Gen. AUGUR. He returned on the 22d ult. His visit was partially owing to the rumor that the rebels intended attacking our men there. They must be strong to attempt it, as most of the old troops of Gen. BUTLER are there, and have the advantage of knowing the...

Cuban and Haitian migrants who arrive in the United States under the new humanitarian parole program are eligible for financial aid. The two groups of migrants are eligible for around $400 a month, along with food stamps and Medicare for a period of eight months through the Administration for Children and Families' Office of Refugee Resettlement. The Biden administration announced on Jan. 5 that up to 30,000 people per month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela would be admitted for two years with authorization to work.

The GOP House can stop the project and rein in a runaway bureau. The federal government is proceeding with plans to build a new FBI headquarters complex twice the size of the Pentagon building. Riveted into the colossal new project are woke regulations to ensure that the FBI center will comply with diversity, equity, LGBTQ+, and climate change political goals. The plan, unveiled last September, has received little attention. For years the FBI has sought to vacate its present headquarters, a brutalist concrete bunker on stilts and occupying two city blocks between the White House and the Capitol. Plans for...

The U.S. federal government is tracking people who decided not to get the COVID-19 vaccine injection, according to bombshell federal government records and video exclusively obtained by NATIONAL FILE. According to the shocking video, unvaccinated people are quietly tracked when they go to the doctor’s office or to the hospital due to a quiet new program proposed and implemented by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). ... The Committee made it clear that the new codes would be used to “track” unvaccinated people. At the time of the meeting, people who had adverse reactions to a past vaccine...

It was only six days ago, on January 26, when I wrote a post containing a list of proposals for Christopher Rufo and the other new trustees of New College of Florida to take back control of the institution from the insane left. In an uncanny development, as if they having been reading the Manhattan Contrarian blog, Rufo and his fellow trustees, along with Governor Ron DeSantis, have already implemented the first proposal, and are well along on implementing the second. How about all you other red states? Why can’t you do the same things? My first proposal was: “Replace...

Every now and then, Skousen's book The Naked Communist and the Marxist goals needs to be posted to see how far we have come since that day in 1963 when the 45 Marxist goals were entered into the Congressional Record. I honestly didn't count how many of the 45 have been achieved, but from a glance it looks like most of them. The only one that I can see has changed is the dismantling and closing of the FBI.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s record on the COVID-19 pandemic is in the spotlight as speculation builds that he will mount a White House campaign. If he enters the race, DeSantis will pose the most serious threat to former President Trump’s quest for the GOP nomination. Trump has reacted angrily to the speculation around DeSantis. The former president and his supporters believe the Florida governor has become a media favorite and has not faced sufficient scrutiny. Team Trump argues this is particularly true of COVID, where DeSantis portrays himself as a ferocious defender of individual freedoms against government overreach. Over the...

Scientists say an outbreak on a Spanish mink farm and in UK foxes is the kind of ‘spillover event’ that could spark a human epidemic Early last autumn, dead seagulls and gannets began to wash up on the coast of Galicia, northwestern Spain. They were victims of the ongoing H5N1 bird flu pandemic that has killed millions of wild and farmed birds across the globe. Then in October, something unusual happened. At a fur farm just a few miles inland from the coast, thousands of mink started to die from the same “avian” virus.
